      Quick question, Pan. Besides the Koch Chemi AF, is there another product you recommend for a generic "maintenance wash?" I can only find the 1.32-gallon bottle of AF. It would take me 10 years to go through that much! LOL! I use GSF for my pre-wash and then hand wash, but if I want to get "stuff" off the car, is there another product that will fit the quick wash scenario? Many thanks for taking the time to reply!@@PanTheOrganizer

      There are a few higher alkaline pH versions, some only available in big formats: Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam (pH13), Bilt Hamber-Touch Less (pH12), Koch Chemie Super Foam (pH12).
      But some available in smaller formats:
      CarPro Lift: bit.ly/3DTIpTL
      Gyeon Foam: bit.ly/3qkwpYw
      Gtechniq W4: bit.ly/3qlE7lb

    I'm by no means a professional detailer...I just like having a clean vehicle. After purchasing a new vehicle, I recently got into the 'personal' detailing and was looking for a pressure washer, preferably electric. Rather than splurge on a premium unit, I decided to give the Ryobi 1800 a try, even though the flow was only 1.2 gpm. For a cost of $95, it is performing very well. I'm using a McKillans swivel and foam cannon, and this setup makes plenty of foam, even with a 30' flexible hose...no problem in that regard. I did need an adapter to convert the Ryobi water out threads to the McKillans, but other than that not a single issue. Very satisfied at this point.

    Almost a year later to watch this, and now version 3 is out; albeit twice as expensive. I have a Class C RV and was told to be careful using pressure washers on them. After a few hours of viewing different professionals talking about flow rather than pressure, it was obvious in which direction to go in order not to damage paint schemes and decals (low pressure/high water flow). I personally visited and watched a couple of Truck/RV washes, and they really put the pressure to those rigs. Since I can't control what they do, I continued to search for a solution. This system fits the bill nicely. You are terrific in your detailed review/testing videos; really appreciate that. I've decided to go with washer only, and then separately buy hose, cannon, soap, etc. Should make for a great investment for keeping my vehicles clean.

    Great video as always Pan! I have this unit wall mounted OG style coupled with a cobra jet hose and active short gun / 4.5mm nozzle. One item I disagree with slightly is opting for the tool only. I bought the full kit from actives website and it was only $20 more than the unit alone. I think this is worth it to have an additional gun/hose/nozzle/foam cannon for portable use. I can disconnect my unit from my wall mounted set up using the quick disconnects and take it on the road with the accessory kit for washing things at my parents home. Just something to consider for those that may benefit from that versatility for a small up charge.

I use the OG spec Mosmatic swiveling sprayer, wand and nozzles and High-Pressure 100 ft Hose w/ MTM Stainless Steel 3/8" Female QD Couplers. This makes for a killer setup for about $700 USD. This set up replaced my 2 year ole cheapo Karcher set up which is still chugging along. The water output of the Active unit is OUTSTANDING compared to the Karcher. I have owned the Active 2.0 for 3 months now. My only complaint is the unit is so light it tends to tip over when placed on top my detail cart. I have to strap it down with bungee cords. I will have to figure out a bwtter way to mount the Active unit on the wall of my garage. I'm so glad that you are reviewing this little unit Pan. You're such a high quality car detail aficionado!

    I commented on your previous video almost a year ago on which level of pressure washer was for me. I was on the verge of the Active VE52 or Greenworks. You recommended that I should spend just a bit more and get the Active 2.0 and I am so glad that I did. So far i have seen such improvements on my cleaning from the Karcher K3 Follow Me that I have been using for over 7 years. I have this wall mounted with the obsessed garage layout with a Purple Mosmatic sprayer gun and I have not been disappointed with this machine. Eventually I will step up to a Kranzle after this unit. This seems kind of pricey compared to something like SunJoe but having the unit be so small is really appealing. I have to keep my pressure washer in my basement and hauling it up and down the stairs makes me not want to use it at all - I don't think I used it once this past summer. Having something small like this, I would actually use it.

    Decent unit been using mine for over a year. Power cord is long and good. The hose that is included will not even go around a car.. is about 6-10 feet too short . For a product aimed at the car enthusiast that’s an oversight imo. I have to pick up and move the unit, hose and power cable . A bit more length and it would’ve been perfect.
    My unit routinely revs up and loses pressure and makes funny noises. I’ve since replaced it with a Japanese built unit and gave this one to my dad.

      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад

      You can start getting good foam at about 1.6 GPM, but yes 2.0 and above is even better. But there are many factors that influence the quantity, thickness and richness of foam:
      1. Type of foam cannon (smaller orifices lead to thicker foam, but can potentially trip your circuit breaker depending on your setup)
      2. Type of pressure washer (a higher amount of GPM water output leads to more foam, so a pressure washer with 1.3 GPM will produce less foam than one that pumps out 2.1 GPM)
      3. Type of snow foam (not all snow foams produce the same amount of foam)
      4. Dilution ratio of snow foam (adjust the dilution according to your setup. Start with the recommendations on the label, and increase the amount as needed).
      5. Water quality. The better the water, the more foam and suds you get. So deionized water will always produce more foam compared to hard tap water, for example.

They are always out of stock. Go Canadian manufacturing! I also have the Adams 2.0. Another great pressure washer with some cheap modifications- 4.0 , 4.5 or 5.0 orifice tip. Thanks pan!

    I enjoyed this one. Love that it shuts off when not using. My question is kindof off subject. But with that nice hose can I run 120° water from my water heater, which is also soft water. That looked like a nice hose. Many of the hoses I checked on are only for cold water. Thanks
    Paul

      Hi Paul. As per their instructions, the water supply temperature must not exceed 40 °C (104 °F) for this pressure washer. So no, it would not be ok to run 120° water.

    Pan, thanks for the video and all your content. I’ve learned a lot from you.
    For your Canadian viewers - I would love to see a comparison of this pressure washer with the Simoniz 1800 PSI, 2.0 GPM from Canadian Tire. I understand it is made private label for Canadian Tire by Active and looks to have similar specs. It is also very affordable! Cheers.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +1

      The Canadian Tire Simoniz version is made by Active, it's called the VE52. The VE52 was the first generation.
      The VE52 was a great machine, as long as you don't modify anything (changing hoses, nozzle orifices, etc). It wasn't meant to be modified. Hence why they released the new Active 2.0
      You can hear one of the owners of Active talk about the VE52 and why they came up with a new machine in this video: ruclips.net/video/gIZ7zu0vJbw/видео.html
      The Active 2.0 is a totally new machine.

    This was a great video Pan. I could never figure out why someone would use a snow cannon. It always struck me as an extra step and you needed more gear - especially a pressure washer. Call me old school but I'd rinse the car - regular hose and then use the 2 bucket method. Et Voila - a clean car. I have the same weather as Montreal so I get the whole -dirt and grit part. It's awful.
    I tried a pressure washer but didn't like it but now with the review on Active 2.0 and the new snow foams that actually help remove the dirt, I'm going to give this a try. It makes sense now with the new types of snow foams.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  7 месяцев назад

      A good effective prewash with a quality snow foam definitely removes a lot of the grime and traffic film before the contact wash, compared to just rinsing the vehicle.

    Our previous pressure washer front loaded about 2700 psi before dropping to 1100 and the kick/noise was annoying.

    I'm currently exploring options for washing my car, but I don't have access to a dedicated car wash facility. I'm trying to come up with a creative solution that is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly, with minimal water usage. Only thing I have is to use a bathroom sink exclusively for this purpose.
    Do you have any recommendations or suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer.

    Hello Pan. On your recommendation I purchased this washer. Now I am attempting to connect it to a hose reel that came with a short supply line with 3/8” male fittings on both ends. One end will screw into the base of the hose reel to supply water. The other end I want to connect to the washer where the water will come out. But I am completely confused on what connections to buy other than the 3/8” socket to M22-14mm fitting which goes on the washer you provided the link for in this video. PLEASE HELP! Thank you.

      I’m not an expert on connections and adapters. Perhaps go look at the Obsessed Garage website and look at his Active 2.0 package and see what fittings he uses. He’s an expert with connectors and adapters and kits.

I like your direct, clear, and concise reviews of various car products. I would not have purchased my Active 2.0 if it were not for you. Weekend warrior here who upgraded from the chemical guys one to the active 2.0. It’s so worth it my CG one had too many problems and finally gave out on me after about 10 washes (3 months) I returned it under the warranty and don’t regret the active one bit. It’s perfect and better in every way but is definitely pricey. Should be worth it tho if you already have upgrades cause both kits come with crappy hoses and guns
