- Councilmembers debated for hours Tuesday as the final readings and vote for all 6 police reform measures took place, measures introduced after Tyre Nichols' death.
That Smirk on The Black Police Woman’s Face , WAS MOST CERTAINLY NOT A GOOD LOOK NO MATTER WHAT SHE WAS PLEASED ABOUT! BECAUSE SHE TOO NEEDS TO BE LOCKED UP/DOWN WITH THE CORRUPT SCORPION TEAM!
The clown who said ''We need these special units for our safety". Spoken like a true White man.
Make all police complaints placed in public records meaning the complaints are given directly to the city council.
WE NEED POLICE OFFERS, but we need them to behave accordingly to the laws, just like any other citizen. We should NOT be afraid of the police, but we should be respectful of the laws. We all feel pain, doesn't matter if you are a police or not!
Being a police officer does NOT give you the authority to go into the communities and discharge your emotional anger just because you feel you have authority over the citizens.

Facing a police officer doesn't give anyone the Right to refuse the instruction to identify yourself & show proof that the vehicle you are in is properly registered & insured as required by law.

How about making educational requirements for police officers much more rigorous. Also a thorough mental health evaluation for all police recruits.
It is a small step but in the right direction. The people of Memphis need to continue packing city counsel meeting. A white saying he fills safe with unmarked police. That should have been his brother instead of Tyre. Not that I want that to happen. But white people feel safe with police and black people do not. It comes more and more clear why police do what they do to black people.
WORK AS A COMMUNITY and take down UNLAWFUL arrest and profiling together instead of individually

PARAMEDICS NEEDS TO START WEARING A BODYCAM, AND SWEAR IN PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ALLOWING THEM TO START MAKING TRAFFIC STOPS, ALSO WEARING BODYCAM AND ARMED FOR THEIR SAFETY AS WELL, ALL THEY DO IS GIVE PARKING TICKETS AND DIRECT TRAFFIC. That's been done for years.
Police officer worn body cams were demanded to show interactions between officers & the people they arrest but when the vast majority of the recordings showed the suspect being the instigator instead of the innocent victim of police violence, defense attorneys started moving to exclude the evidence.
I work in the security field and have a camera in my patrol car and it is made in China. It tells me what and when I am doing something wrong and she is always recording.
I still don't see any reason to use unmarked cars.

Most likely not. We still haven't gotten full justice for Kim Groves down here in The State of Louisiana (New Orleans). She was a targeted "hit" by Len Davis and NOPD law enforcement and she was an outstanding mother to her own children and the entire community.

Too many people here are talking about "if you follow instructions or if you comply" blah blah blah... Well targeted ethnic groups have seen/witnessed and experienced situations where people (not only people of color BUT mostly people of color) have complied, have followed instructions and still been brutalized,some even executed in the street without impunity and without the benefit of America's due process of arrest judge, jury while still alive, still breathing... As situations where police officers have lied (up until someone produced videos of the truth) on their reports, where they have deliberately turned off their body cameras, where they "fear for their lives against an unarmed person of color who would be cuffed and lying face down (oddly enough,the cops are rarely in fear for their lives against ARMED white people who they (again,not always BUT usually) manage to arrest them with their weapons, take them to jail so they can live long enough to face a judge, to enjoy American due process... In the case of Tyre Nichols, it was shown and admitted by a superior officer that Tyre WAS NOT driving recklessly, was not shown to have committed a traffic violation so his being stopped by that roving bunch of Blue gangsters with badges, was uncalled for and Tyre had a right to fear for HIS life! I'm not surprised though by some comments here because some people (usually not people of color) will continue to live in their assumptions about people of color, that they are all criminals,all non compliant, all must be guilty of something even when it may be clear that they aren't, because well dark skin itself is a crime and a weapon to be treated with deadly force to some of you!
