  • This is my absolute favorite hike in or near Florence, Italy. Monte Ceceri is an easy 2.5-mile loop that features the place where Leonardo DaVinci tested his flying machines. Get away from the hordes of tourists and go on this hike.
Dusty Hikers is where I share information about hiking. I often test hiking shoes and share that information with RUclips. You can also find me on my blog: www.dustyhikers.com.

Given that you are a hiking shoe aficionado, you should really try hiking in barefoot shoes like Vivo’s or Xero shoes. I made the switch to barefoot shoes a few weeks ago and now my Merrell MQM 3’s are collecting dust. I tried them because I have plantar fasciitis, and after 2 weeks of wearing only barefoot shoes, completely healed up. I’d love to see you review them.

That is a great idea for a late-spring-early-summer-five-shoe-winner-takes-all review. Can you suggest five popular barefoot shoes? I tested the Vasque Satoru LT last year and loved them. They are zero drop. Not sure if they qualify as barefoot though.

Vivobarefoot, Xero, Merrell Vapor Gloves, vibram 5 fingers, and Whitin Trail shoes. I have the Merrell Vapor Gloves which I absolutely love!! Gonna try the Vivo’s next.
