A year later and I'm still in love with it.
Brian Power Me too.
Still listening still playing it on the piano for me haha 😂
Hi from 2020.
Hi from 2021
As the years pass like days, and the days like that of hours
The piece of music is so short but yet, contains a whole universe of emotions from happiness to sadness.
After listening, I feel LOVE
The violin and the piano is just the best combination of instruments
Leaf Greens well cello and violin
Leaf Green Its the god damn giver! theres supposed to be happy and sad.
precisionate language please
That was... Dramatic
I'm addicted to this song
I like the violin
it was a nice
Rachel king The violin was originally godssent2's violin piece from their music on the same song.
KA- BOOM!!! No, it doesn’t start with a vowel. It’s “a,” she/he just needs a noun after “nice.”
Presisision of language
"the girl had a name"
“Her name was Rosemary. She was my daughter. I loved her”
"precision of language"
"I couldn't be more precise"
Didn't she die?
@@ZephyrKit Yes, she committed suicide to release the memories back to the community. It was also hard for her to bare all the memories she had.
This music piece is so powerful, it literally brings tears to my eyes
This was the best scene in the movie, where the giver showed Jonas the gift of music. After all of the images and memories, We get a piece that has so much emotion packed into it that even without the images, it's just overwhelmingly beautiful.
Edited becuade I apparently forgot the guys name
Jonas*
Gives me goosebumps every time
I like to imagine that during this song, you have (insert otp) dancing very gracefully.
Whereas the movie was pretty different from the book, it was still enjoyable, and this theme is so calming it would even make fuuuuu man calm down.
+Green Storm (Joshua Dragongem) in my opinion the book was better, this song is the only thing i think the movie has over the book :P
Yeah. Even if the ending sucked.
The ending didn't suck
The only thing I didnt like about the ending is that we didnt get to see him go back
Thinking about this movie, brings tears to my eyes. How we humans take feeling, seeing, hearing, all for granted. Pain and darkness linger, but their presence enables the existence of light, love, happiness, joy. All the emotions we are able to feel in this temporary experience, this material world... it's what makes us alive. It is what makes it all worth it.
the transition between the piano solo and the violin was a little sharp and jarring but good work!! love the song.
Sarah Klumpp The reason it was that way was because one part may have been original, but the transition was to try and hide the taking of the original violinist who composed the second half. I really hope that was a fair use song.
I could’ve gone my whole life without hearing this. And I’m glad I didn’t
same bro, im addicted to this song.
when people hear this they usually think of dancing. i think of holidays and happy memories
You know when people listen to this they usually think of all of these happy and joyful memories of holidays and family, but this just reminds me of what I do not have and what I could have had.
3 years later and it never fails to put tears in my eyes
Best version out there! Thanks so much for creating this... Means a lot to a lot of people out there. :)
Plasm Studios Thx a heap man! :)
SMidJeTT No problem. Always give credit to people do deserve it. :)
+Plasm Studios I second that! I have severe anxiety issues, this brings a manic mind peace. Music is the best medicine!!!
do you know what the name of the song is because I fell in love with it.
Rosana Diaz It's popularly known as the Rosemary's Theme Song/Piano Song.
My great grandpa so i heard from my parents and family members for piano playing is a part of our life. We play by ear but the cool story is that my grandpa died from playing what he loved. Now their will be those who don't believe but he died from the piano exploding. The wire that the note hits broke causing others to break as well causing the piano explode. But he died doing what he loved!
so sorry that your grandpa died, glad that he was doing what he loved when it happened.
This is so beautiful
I am truly obsessed with this song
I listen to it everyday
(Listen to this melody as u read my comment:3)
Most of the people think of dancing to this song but I hear something special.....
I hear pain, beauty ,love, power and so much more. Let this melody heal you in every way as possible. think of your loved ones, your friends, and family you done wrong and make it right! Only you can make this world better. choose right. may God be with you all 😔💖

+Tyler Williams I know pretty sad 2 actually but thanks for the support mate
Probably accidentally, anybody else ever try to like a video but end up hitting the dislike button?
SMidJeTT they probably couldn't see through all thier tears and they accidentally clicked the wrong button
Tyler Williams It's bc the person just took two different tracks of different versions and just edited them together-- it sounds bad lol
it's because they're Australian
Love it so much I cried 😌
Did you play this on the violin? If you did do you have the sheet music?
+SMidJeTT
The violin is definitely sampled.
@@crunchygoose9675 yeah afaik it's from the end credits piece. still beautiful though. i'm using this in an artistic program if i ever gain the motivation to go back on the ice again.
I’m about to read the book for the first time then I’ll watch the movie after and I’m already loving this background music. ❤️❤️❤️ I wish I can loop it for hours. LOL!
Whenever I want to feel inspired I listen to this song and am always amazed at how beautiful and amazing it is
This movie and book changed my life
Musique qui transports...
I love the violin🎻 it's so beautiful
I'm glad that this song was here. I got news that my grandpa was sick at an old age. If he died... I would be grandparent less...
+-_- DonutDon -_- Aww that sad. :(
I'm grandfather-less :-(
I've never had a grandfather. Both were long dead by the time I was born
Well over my life time I've seen plenty of people, close people, pass. I like to think of it like this. If everyone dies then why be mournful over the deaths of those who made it to old age. They've lived a complete life and there is nothing that will stop them from passing. In some aspects death via old age is that of mercy so you don't have to die an extremely painful death rather a peaceful painless passing.
thank you
this movie makes me cry
all the time
Love this song!
Jdm262 Thanks for the support, Please like, subscribe and comment on what songs you would like me to put up next!! :D

"the beauty of silence"
Anyone know what the song on the Selection Screen of the movie is?
It's from the movie The Giver.
Skullkrane Entertainment The Giver
When i am very upset and hurt, i play this song and when i do, i imagine a ballerina and a man. Anyone imagine anything or am i going crazy?!?!😆😆
+Kaitlyn Pretty i think of two lovers, just dancing while the world around them is falling apart they can only see eachother
I imagine a world full of wonder and possibilities. A world where we can make a difference.
thumbs up times 1,000
something about the transition from piano to violin is a bit off.
The violin started a little too soon than it should've but overall it's fantastic
🎉🎉🎉
2019 June?
amazing son
This should have been in the movie
O yeah yeah
why this reminds me of anne with an e
Good, but the violin comes in too suddenly
Did you miss me?
I WANT TO BREAK FREE
But also staying alive!!
Agreed.
It sweeps in like a beautiful and powerful storm...
Could I use this song for a future animation? I'll give you credit!
got for it bro
Thank you!
This song puts me to sleep
Is there a version with more violin?
Mike Brando Try the original godssent2 version, you know where the violin in this song actually came from? They made a longer version with more violin.
❤️
WHYYYYYYY is this only 2 minutes?! :'(
Played a bit fast. Really good quality, tho.
The film wasn't perfect but this song was really beautiful
Does anyone know what this version is called? I can't find the version with violin on spotify. Thanks!
+Forest Archer if you go to a website called listen on repeat you could search this and it will repeat it automatically
ITS MY BDDD EVERYONE
I miss it when things were good.
How could they leave this song out of the soundtrack??? i tunes doesn't have it, I can't find where to download it.......
2020?
Did you ask godssent2 to use their music? Because you may have playes the first part, but I sure as hell can identify cuts in music and copyright infringement.
I play the violin and I know how to play the violin part, but does anyone know a piece for all of the song? I really want to play the whole song, and I can play the piano version but It is not right, its to high pitched and I have found a few that somewhat mimic what it should be but It just isn't. If I have to then I will just compose a new one my self but I'm not an expert or anything at it *laughs*.
Jesse Ward did you really compose something? Because I can’t find good sheet music for the duet and would die to have an arrangement!
Not that good of a movie but the theme song is pretty good!
do you have the violin music sheet?
Is this supermarket music? I mean, this sounds amazingly beautiful...but when I am at the supermarket, I sometimes hear piano music
Send sheeeet music plzzzzzz
Sorry, but the first part is just a little too fast. It kinda offsets the vibe the song is supposed to have. In the beginning, in the original version, it gives off this vibe of wonder, curiosity, but sadness, and regret. But because that was rushed in the beginning, it instead gives off the vibe of questions like, "why?" Does anyone else get this or is it just me?
Conner Toennis It was also the only original part in this piece, if you listen you can hear the cut and what I hope was fair use.
Okay
where be the sheet music???
뭔가 바뀌었는데?
Can anyone make lyrics to this? I'm seriously asking
If it had lyrics it would take away from the music
I don't like the movie, but damn if it didn't have a good theme.
If only this song was in the book
Oh wait
Hi
Beautiful hot moss buns :):):):):):):):):):):):)
hot moss really knows how to make one emotional.
