    I was born christian. I wasn't exactly devout, but I took everything that was said as truth. I was young then, and seeing how devout my family was and how strongly people believed in it, I thought it had to mean something. Once I got older and I learned more things about the world, I slowly started becoming skeptical. As a growing teenager I went to people and humbly asked questions. I never heard any voice, never saw anything divine, or anything of the sort that really showed a God that was there, much less one that interacted in my life or any others. Sometimes people tried to be reasonable and gave me pointers respectfully, and regardless of my suspicions, I was grateful for their advice and sympathy. Other times I was ridiculed, disrespected and written off completely, even by my own family, girlfriend and many other close people in my life. I thought it was reasonable to doubt what you're told about anything, and searching for any truth yourself was important. I didn't want my hand held and be led to the truth. I took people's perspectives in stride, regardless of an agreeing or an opposing view (in the realm of rationality of course). I didn't just wake up one day and became an atheist, it took extensive thought provoking introspection for a long time. Others may have had it or have it plenty worse than I do and I'm grateful I'm even here to speak for my experience. I've grown to love the life I have, the world I'm in regardless of how bad it can be. I can be more fond of people even if they may not live the way I do. I have no baggage from religion or anything, I just hold an opposing view about the intricate universe we live in. If a God is real, which I doubt, I don't think any of the ones humanity has or will ever worship is true. He or she or it may be way beyond anything we could ever discover, but I will always continue searching for answers. I may not find all the answers to everything, but I will die trying to find them. The universe is all around us, so its time to be apart of it, no matter how miniscule of an effect I will have.

    All religions are unreasonable. God is only a creation of primitive minds. According to Genesis, God created our Universe in 6 days. On the 7th day he took a rest. God must be a lazy God if he got tired just working for few days. Our Universe is 13.8 to 14 billion years old and 93 billion light years long. According to God of Abraham our world is only 4000 years old. Gods are necessary for people, but for wise they are all false.

      Where did the universe come from? Sounds like you have a very humanistic and assumptive view of God (calling Him lazy). The fool says in his heart there is no god.

  • @rayw3332
    @rayw3332 5 лет назад +14

    Exactly. The best evidence that there is no God, is the Bible!
    The evolutionary epic, human/planetary life and cosmological, is god. As E. O. Wilson intimated, with humility, let's aim for communion with each, as this is the "AUTHENTIC part of the human spirit."

    • @futureorreligion
      @futureorreligion 5 лет назад +1

      Best evidence that there is a god is parents telling you that there is a god. Other adults also tell you that there is a god. There are old churches and new churches are being built... You grow up and read the bible for yourself... It seems like bunch of nonsense, but it cant be or my country wouldn't allow scams to brainwash children, so I must be wrong... inquiring mind dies most of the times...

    I'm an atheist and the old testament does say to be clean.
    'Cleanliness is to be Godliness'
    Thought I'd say that now. He was speaking of spiritual cleanliness.

    • @grisflyt
      @grisflyt 5 лет назад +1

      The "Abrahamic" concept of clean/unclean is not a healthy one. No matter how hard we try, we will never be clean enough in the eyes of Yahweh. We were born unclean and have to repent for it for the entire life. We can laugh or shake our heads at it, but self-flagellation does follow from the Bible. Same with the Catholic Church's position on contraceptives. Sex for any reason other than procreation is lust, one of the 7 deadly sins. Contraceptives are means to sin.

    Plus, there's the question of how harmful life forms exist in the first place in the Christian worldview, among other examples of unintelligent design. From a comment I made last August:
    "Babies and young children having diseases and deformities isn't intelligent design. Neither is our primary source or light, heat, and energy also being a source of skin cancer and permanent eye damage. Or humans accumulating medical conditions over time, increasing suffering until people finally die. Or 80% of people having problems with wisdom teeth including growing into other teeth. Or back pain, joint pain, human parasites, eye worms, dust mites that only eat dead human skin whose poop causes allergic reactions, bed bugs, cockroaches, ants, disease-carrying mosquitoes, poisonous bugs/animals/plants, dust, food-decaying microbes, etc.
    "
    Did God create malaria? Even with the excuse of the fall, he would've needed to create malaria to eventually do that after the fall or otherwise set up the conditions that would result in that... unless it evolved, and evolution CAN create new features.

    How come that all these "big thinkers" talking about and criticizing Christianity and the Bible all the time, but for some reason rarely do this with Islam and the Quran?
    I am an atheist, I don't believe in God, I prefer the scientific approach, but science still haven't proven the existence/non-excistence of God.
    Christianity could be the best moral compass for humanity but human behavior itself an utter mess.
    We made up religions just to try to be better but it doesn't work because we are effed up from the get go.

    The problem with modern science is that is wants to play God. Let us ask: Is life worth living if you were?
    Let us play a game of poker. The catch is, you know exactly what cards I will have, and you'll also get to choose what cards you get, and what cards will unfold on the table. Is this a game you'd want to play?
    This is exactly the same as life, except life is only an exceptionally complicated game for our minds to understand.

      The scientific method is a way of investigating the natural world. Do you suppose "God" is also trying to understand the natural world? Do you have a particular Deity in mind, when you use the term God.

    May I point out some additional logic that atheists are not considering? If life after death is real, the only way to know is within our own minds. Human beings can focus on both meditation and telepathy simultaneously. Meditation is NOT about achieving complete mental silence within for indefinite periods of time. Meditation is about watching and listening within ONLY. Like a movie or radio. If life after death is real, and if psychic mediums are real, it is discovered with meditation and focusing on telepathy. I personally hear voices within, and I know without any doubt that these voices are not my own thoughts or schizophrenia. They are messages from “another place”. Maybe another dimension of reality? Any real person will not force ideology or beliefs on other people. They will simply share ideas, and share respect and humility socially.
