when the covid19 ends, you should get the whole band togheter for a video, and everyone should play a diffirent instrument as they normaly do , so lets say youd sing , then someone else goes to the drum and etc... just to see if it works and it fails...
The second last guy had such a cool style. As someone who plays jazz myself, I think it would fit so well in a song like this. Frankly I preferred it to gabe's version lol
It turned the song into something very different but also interesting to listen to. I loved it. So I think Gabe was right that it didn't fit with what you'd expect, but its not-fitting is what made it great, if that makes sense?
I was very pleased by jazz man bc I really love it when the music accompanies the drum part sometimes, and not always the contrary. This guy made a solo out of the song, going out of time at several moments, but under control, and coming back for resolution, just delicious. I'm not not a huge fan of jazz, except for bluesy one on piano, and for the incredible talent of jazz drummers. Sorry for my english.
Hey Aldreen, love your Drumsticks! It's been with me since November 2019 and still kickin! Also, I shared that clip; and had no idea that your client was Gabe.
@@AldreenAlcantara cheers kuya aldreen angg astig ng drum parts na ginawa mo! and i highly love yung Rimshot Drumsticks that I've bought from you solid nila :D
4th guy had it all day long !! That cymbal work in the middle was dope as shit not to mention those alternating snare patterns were right smack in the pocket . Good job bud I give you all the thumbs up !!!!
This video was such a great idea! The challenge itself was cool, and it was nice to see your honest critiques of the drummers along with their different interpretations of the tune. You’re bandmates are pretty funny, too! Seems like ya have a solid set up! Thanks for all your vids along with your positive energy. Stay Sharp Sir!!!
Great video! I always love seeing drummers explore each others creative minds. Drums are one of those things that can drastically change how a song sounds and without given any context or direction a drummer can almost take a song anywhere. I feel if you said you wanted a high energy feel or specified exactly the dynamics and sound you wanted, each person would have played slightly different. You're also used to your bands "sound" and you know how a song should feel for you guys, which is interesting how that affects your reaction to each of these drummers take on the part .
Aldreen made the song pop out the most and pushed dimensions to other instruments. It's kinda like he's the one to decide when to let air in the bubble and also there to bust it and start a new one. Only minor thing is I thought he could have done something with the hi hat in the silent part. The middle section was a great touch.
Imaeyo REALLY KILLED IT in my opinion! I mean... even just watching him play with such... idk, coldness? But so focused? Awesome. And some really nice idea. Impossible to tell how much editing he did because he obviously recorded MIDI, but that’s practically irrelevant (precisely because it’s impossible to tell). So awesome job. That fill at the end was INSANE. Then Aldreenrimshot just nailed it. Flawless if you ask me. He’s got metalcore down. Simensadnes was probably equally good. Nailed it. Best drum sound out of all acoustic kits.
You kick ass Gabe , love this concept ,but dang man, you know your home is I Prevail, and wouldn't have it any other way!! Big fan of you and what you do. Keep up the great work!!
These type of vids are fun, as you get to see how different everyone thinks when it comes to music. It also brings up things like how flexible music can be and still sound awesome (also shows there isn't only way to something)
Could you give the same task to some not-so-random drummers, like those with popular RUclips channels? In particular, I would like to see what Sina and Meytal Cohen can do with this challenge. I think both of them have a good chance of stealing your gig.
I love the original track but I have to say, the interpretation by the jazz influenced drummer was great. Gave your song a completely different feel and it worked. Fun video man. Thanks.
That v drummer SLAPD that track! Took your session gig but not your spot in the band photo-you can have the tours but my mans keeps the 8% performance Roy
I love I Prevail so much! I hope one day I get the opportunity to see you guys live! There is so much passion and meaning in each and every song! Keep up the great work guys.🤘❤
They all had some good qualities, but i think the last one definitely nailed it. All his fills were clean, and his beats were right on with what the music called for. Great video idea!
I liked aldreens and simensandnes they both sounded solid but if id have to chose between those 2 Id pick aldreens i really like those cymbals details and hihat arrangements And of course the snare pattern it was sick
@@AldreenAlcantara you nailed it bro, definetly. The arrengements were good, they were well placed and they were not like "too much". Great content, fun videos! Aldreen 63 dollar guy easy!!! Tasty and very different but still heavy! I liked his sound the best and that he let the music breathe for a while with his cymbal breakdown, when he comes in again it makes more of a contrast! And the rhythm that he plays after that is amazingly different, so cool! Every drummer did good for their money btw :) all well done
After watching all these good drummers with amazing and quick fills plus the great techniques, I feel like I'm so trash at the drums, everyday playing my Roland TD-07-kv electric drum with like no progress even though I paid a lot of effort on it.... Besides, my brother always says that my drumming is noisy and my drumming sucks.......It really questions myself if I can be like them one day in the future......
Remember what Gabe says... you can choose one of two mindsets... 1: Look at other drummers as inspiration to play and practice more or 2: Become discouraged by it. Only one of those will bring you Joy. And that's the most import "secret sauce" to drumming... JOY! (... and of course, practice lol)
Hey Gabe! Im AaronChaseDrums! Haha super funny but super cool finding this! I totally agree with your critic about how there needs to be more energy from the drums. Thanks for leaving a tip too man. :D
10:10, this guy sounds like matt garstka from animals as leaders, this just sounds like something he would do, and i agree, the creativity there, wuz just absolutely phenomenal, even the jazz part, very interesting, kept me hooked

Daniel Kuhn I agree it was super badass and I play metal
Not much core fan myself, so I liked the "jazz" version more than boomy original. I think I would listen music like this - some "interesting core" :-)
Same here, but I think it would be a different band, as it is indeed less heavy sounding... It was sick.

Totally. Best one.
The first guy with the minimal set up, you should set him a minel package with maybe some pearl stuff ?? Thanks gabe
First guy all the way. He absolutely blew me away with being able to match the track
Dude fills at the end of each bar?? Big no
I enjoyed that too. I have to replay it a few times. I think he is like Joey Jordison who has a jazz background, though i might be wrong on this one.
So much talent man! As I have said, really glad to see you this welcoming and determined towards the drumming community as a whole. Cheers!
I definitely love bringing drummers together that's for sure!
