- The Australian Grand Prix was some of the best racing we've seen all year. But were the drivers or FIA more at fault for how things ended? Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing finally grabbed his first win at the circuit. That of course doesn't come without controversy.
Team Bosses Toto Wolff and Christian Horner sounded off about the red flags and restarts, along with Mclaren Driver Lando Norris. Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz were the most vocal when it came down to being Penalized and subject to restarts.
Was this another blunder by the FIA or bad driving on the track?

I didn't think the first 2 red flags were bad enough incidents to bring out the flags. The track should have been cleaned up under a safety car.
It did make for an entertaining restart, though, and that's probably what the FIA was trying to accomplish. It's just a shame the FIA feel like they need to inject themselves into the race by creating extra drama, just for entertainment.
Agreed - do you believe they are doing this for entertainment sake instead of actual safety? Team bosses and drivers believe so which is quite telling to us. I’d like to think not, But…
@F1 Breaking if the teams believe so, I'll take their word for it because they're there in the moment and race for a living. They see racing incidents first hand each round.
Maybe with the increased popularity of f1, the FIA are trying to make it an even bigger spectacle. But they don't need to, because it is, and always has been, an exciting sport.
I heard from a guy who was a volunteer marshal. He explained that the first red flag was needed because of the amount of marshals they needed out on the track for clean up, and to repair the barriers. The K-Mag flag however, definitely seems like it was done for entertainment. Max, Alonso, and even Lewis were NOT happy with the decision. All three knew that they could easily lose everything (and Alonso almost did), and that risk was not worth it. Even for Alonso and Lewis, the possibility of gaining a position or even winning was not worth the risk of losing all their hard work throughout the entire race.
That restart from the K-Mag flag was just like that NASCAR race that Kimi and Button recently participated in; just pure carnage all around at the end. THAT is the problem with a standing restart with a last lap or two mad-dash to the end-because suddenly everyone thinks they have a massive chance of at least greatly improving their standings, if not outright winning. Thus they go all in, and the race devolves into no-holds-barred, free-for-all.
@@theuniversaldisneyian2021 that's cool to get the perspective of a marshal that was at the race. Thanks
El problema principal es la inconsistencia en la toma de deciciones por parte de control de carrera. Pareciera que cada carrera es un staff completamenta diferente que interpreta la reglas a su modo.
Agreed!
