- Today I'm calling out Dart Zone.
This video is about the Dart Zone Max Outlaw holster files, and how they require a LOT of personal information to download it. The info they're asking for is frankly unnecessary for a "free download". While it still is free, I don't think people are comfortable with giving out their billing address to companies that aren't billing them or receiving a product from. While there's nothing inherently wrong with what Dart Zone is doing, I just think it's a little "consumer unfriendly" to lock the files behind an "Info Wall".
Not entirely sure what the problem is, is it just the fact that you have to put in your billing information period, or is it you feel like giving your billing information is a risk? You're just as at risk if you've ever purchased and shipped anything online, even using a public network has the same risk factor.
I just think you shouldn't have to give your billing address for something you're not being billed for. I just wish they made it so you can download the files without an account, that just makes more sense to me.
Also, I'm fine with give my billing info to companies that are billing me for things. I do buy a lot of stuff from Amazon.
@@kinghogarth The team in charge of releasing the files to the public are not the same employees working on their web development, so there may be some miscommunication there. Putting billing information in may help them see which parts of the world are interested in these products. Who’s to say. It’s nothing to get worked up about regardless.

Same as every other damn company. A free trial offer asks for credit card and billing info? Why? It's because they can just flip a switch without your knowledge and siphon funds from you.
