This playlist is a gem!! In 3 minutes I learnt more than I have in reading newspaper long, ridiculously and unnecessarily complicated online material! Thank you thank you thank you
How to Search for Relevant Literature? 1. List out keywords 2. Go to databases (university’s library, pubmed, science direct or Google Scholar) 3. Boolean operators: (1) list out synonyms (2) use AND, OR, - (not include), “” (exact result) to precise your searching 4. Once you’ve found sth might be useful, read the abstract and check the bibliography 5. Identify important publications
Glad I found these. Just about to embark on a rapid literature review and after many hours of scratching my head on where to start and what to do. Uni instructions were just trash. I finally have some tips and understand it. Amazing work and thank you.
you are a lifesaver!!!! can't believe I've learned more in a few minutes from your videos than I did from hours of lectures that went no where thank you so much..... and love your energy in these videos
I think the hardest part is that you have to list a tons of keywords and keep trying on search on different combination of keywords. For example, if I have a idea to make a literature review on lung cancer + immune therapy, the narrow term of lung cancer is NSCLC... , while the broad term is solid cancer... ; the immune therapy have a tons of keywords too. We have to try and error on the combination of these words.
Wow i wish i had known this earlier in life😂 didn’t even search for this. I was looking for some other info about Boolean but thanks now I’ll find what I’m actually searching for better 🤞🏿
This has cleared it up MASSIVELY! Thank you so much. Why can lecturers be this helpful? They've got to do a 60 slide power point on this instead which is too long and confusing. Three quick videos and I've got the idea of a literature review now. I do have one question, though, how many sources would you say is a good amount to aim for? Too many is a lot to try and compare and balance, but obviously one per paragraph isn't much to go on. Advice?
Hi Marvlotte, your comment brightens up my day! Thanks for your support :) There really isn't a fixed amount of sources you should go for, a good balance like you said is important. You should focus on backing up your argument and claims sufficiently. There are more videos coming on this topic, stay tuned!
You could have added Google Operators (e.g. filetype: .... . site:....., etc...). But a good start for many people. You can even use them on Publish or Perish software, download the csv and the references already formatted, and make an easy database through that.
How can i select a topic? Then how can I collect my data? After getting data, how I can implement my results into paper. How to analysis questions paper? Please make more video
Hi Rashed, more videos are on their way! For now, we do have a playlist dedicated to research process, it will answer some of your questions: ruclips.net/p/PLjBMY3HggCpAjmtPByI_MkFI6lrguHatL
Would you make a video where we will get a complete guidelines how we can make a research paper? I watched your video. Please make video on some topic then step by step. Thank you mam
Hello thank you so much for the video, very very helpful, I have a question, if I find an article that is related to my topic I need to check the bibliography and find those books, or I can use the article itself as a reference? Thank you
Seek papers with high numbers of citations, you'll end up regurgitating the same idea all over again. Research is about finding out new stuff not parroting the old.
Hi, I'm 4rth year college now from City of Malabon University. Can I ask lang po ma'am about po sa google scholar? pwede ko rin po ba ito magamit sa paghanap ng mga information para sa Introduction and Background of the study? Research po kase namin now. sana masagot nyo po tanong ko. Thankyou po : )
citation” is the way you tell your readers that certain material in your work came from another source just give to some other people credit of their own work
Hi Alhamzah, your institution most likely uses professional plagiarism checkers like Turnitin or Ephorus. Scribbr's plagiarism checker uses the exact same technology, if you're worried about your paper, check it here: www.scribbr.com/plagiarism-checker/
