That was a freaking amazing breakdown of how to write a literature review! OMG, usually I have a ton of questions and I have to watch other videos to reinforce what the last video was trying to teach me, but your video is a one-stop-shop. Thank you!
It took me 1 hour, rather than 30 minutes, but this video is exceptional. For the first time in my academic history, I have finally mastered the techniques for writing a critically analysed literature review. Thank you so much David!
Thank you for making Literature Reviews so much less daunting! I have roughly 24 hours to complete a 1,500-word literature review and I have been feeling so down, staring at my blank word document, having no idea where to start. As a first-year, mature aged student who hasn't done any sort of higher education for the past 10 years, I can't tell you how helpful this has been. I finally feel as though I MIGHT be able to finish it by the deadline! And then start on another 2,300-word Literature Review due roughly a week later 🙃
You're welcome, Aimee. There are three key skills when gathering research: (1) using your research question to guide you: ruclips.net/video/5IEQjPk79i0/видео.html (2) knowing how to dissect a journal article: ruclips.net/video/DvJwzvqt6zQ/видео.html And (3) knowing how to write an annotation: ruclips.net/video/w3A_wEMvnFA/видео.html Good luck!
This should be required watching for everyone writing their first literature review! The example is very helpful and I feel so much more prepared after watching :) Thank you!
This makes so much sense to the lay person facing the daunting process of having to come up with thousands of words. A lot of university lecturers are useless in explaining how to write a literature review and breaking it down into smaller manageable parts. A great demonstration well done.

@@peakdavid This is great seeing the visual demonstration. If I use at least 17 articles, will my lit review (using your method of having a summary for article) easily account for 2-3000 words? My supervisor informed me that this section should account for 20% of the dissertation.
Almost a whole year later. Spoke right into my being. I am never letting go of this knowledge that you have driven into my core. Bravo. Thanks to you, I'll never be intimidated by a literature review again.
My God! NOBODY EVER broke down a literature review as simple to understand as this, you are a genius. Now I can actually see the method to the whole madness. Goodness gracious! why didn't ANYONE tell me it was this straight forward before? Thank you so so much David, you have NO idea what you have done for me in this 17+ minutes and FREE too. Thank you!
@@sarahsameh1516 You are supposed to have written the summaries. If you listened to the opening part of his talk 0:17 to 0:51 and then later in 4:46, you would have heard him say that. However I think you are going to have to read the abstract and conclusion to be able to 'figure out' the themes 6:52 (problem-solution, cause-effect, etc), I hope this helps.
I came across this just when I was thinking on how to go about my literature review, because I have less than 4 weeks to submit my proposal. It sure came at the right time!!! Thanks.

same feeling here Bro!.
I know, it's amazing! I feel so eager to begin reading and writing my biomedical review now!
Thanks for this comment. I am hoping that in some ways, I may be able to finish my literature review within 5 days.
That was a freaking amazing breakdown of how to write a literature review! OMG, usually I have a ton of questions and I have to watch other videos to reinforce what the last video was trying to teach me, but your video is a one-stop-shop. Thank you!

Being a PhD candidate, I just understood what the Literature Review is for the first time, after many years! Thank you, very much!
Welcome!
Hello Sir, I want to know how to strip the summary from citations? Please help
This should be required watching for everyone writing their first literature review! The example is very helpful and I feel so much more prepared after watching :) Thank you!
Great to hear, Darah. The key is writing good summaries first: ruclips.net/video/iW4eXLAtOhk/видео.html
This makes so much sense to the lay person facing the daunting process of having to come up with thousands of words. A lot of university lecturers are useless in explaining how to write a literature review and breaking it down into smaller manageable parts. A great demonstration well done.
Sir your sense of humor while explaining points is everything. It made the entire videos worth watching it.
Thank you, Iman! There is also a text version - www.peakwriting.com/litreview/Index.html If you want to check the accuracy of your citations, I recommend CiteFast: ruclips.net/video/b2sPC8zFsl8/видео.html
Thank you so much sir. I will make sure to check both of them.
You're welcome! And thank you for your strong, heartfelt words! There is also a text version-- www.peakwriting.com/litreview/Index.html
Thank you!
are you supposed to write your own summary or use the abstract of the articles?
@@sarahsameh1516 You are supposed to have written the summaries. If you listened to the opening part of his talk 0:17 to 0:51 and then later in 4:46, you would have heard him say that. However I think you are going to have to read the abstract and conclusion to be able to 'figure out' the themes 6:52 (problem-solution, cause-effect, etc), I hope this helps.
I'm currently writing a literature review on epidemiology and pandemics. This video is timely. Thank you Mr David.
