It is from the perspective of someone that, temporarily, survives a midair plane crash. The person next to him is dead. He can hear the EMT saying there's no way to save him. You hear the sirens as he dies. It was inspired by The guitarist , who was taking flight lessons at 17 and right after a lesson, the next student took off and immediately rolled and crashed.
I first heard this back in the day at 2AM with school the next day. I was having trouble sleeping to start with and had the radio going. This song did NOT help me get to sleep.
This coulda been the theme song to every Faces of Death video ever. When I was a kid my older brothers put this on when our bedroom was pitch dark to scare the living crap outta me, then as a teen I did the same thing to my little sister till my father found out and made me throw the record in the incinerator. I guess that was an appropriate way for it to die 😂
I was nine years old growing up in Florida, and I remember this song playing on the radio a lot and I remember all the conspiracy theories going around at the time. I didn't understand at the time but now it's clear. Crazy song.
This song produced the FCC rule that police and ambulance sirens cannot be played on the radio. I, for one, found this song fascinating, but I was in high school when it came out.
I saw Bloodrock on April 4, 1972 @ Toledo Sports Arena ( Michael Quatro Jam Band opened)...Great concert! Breach of Lease was awesome in a live setting, as well....
I'm SO Jealous! Only got to see them after Rutledge & Pickens left (Passage tour). They opened for Grand Funk RR. early '71 tour and I'm told they bested GF on the night! That seems impossible to me,but that's just how damn good Bloodrock apparently was! LOVE those first 4 albums..especially USA-- one of my alltime fav albums!! T

So, from a "bad" rehearsal back in 1970 Lee Pickens was making noise with his guitar, as he put it "English UK siren sounds" form that point they "fantasized" and put DOA together. Their first four albums are great and USA is my favorite. Actually, I think their best dark song is "Breach of Lease " with a great guitar solo from Lee Pickens on Bloodrock 3. Give it a listen. Cool review!
