Happy for you guys down there. That's what is great about the NFL draft. A down and out team like the Texans are given an opportunity to choose before the better performing teams to try and pick a rookie player that will make a difference and turn the franchise around. If you hit like the Texans did with Stroud it can bring the team back to relevancy.
As a Jags fan i'm happy for y'all, it's been a long time of both of our franchises struggling but now maybe it'll be our two teams that constantly compete for control of the South instead of the Titans taking it as they pretty much always have

Even though he lost in the end, he still put up some good numbers and it feels like he's been getting better slowly with each game. The Texans have something they haven't had in a long time; leadership. Who knows? Maybe the AFC South will finally get exciting again.
I wouldn't even say he looked shaky. He was facing a very good defense in his first real action and still looked composed despite his offensive line being horrible.

Stroud is living proof that the P2 test might be the most worthless metric to measure the mental ability of a draft prospect we've ever seen, and it's not even close.
Stroud’s success does show an organization doing what it can to create stability around you helps. So far no. I think this kid is just different. He makes me believe our Team will be really good/great for the next 10-15yrs But there has been lots of good talk about him most the yr and so far he keeps balling
A lot of you are thinking of Dan Marino's first full year, 1984. His rookie year was 1983 and he was good, but he only started 9 games. He's got more TD passes and fewer sacks taken than CJ (unless CJ throws for 6 TDs next game), but far fewer INTs, better completion percentage and yards per attempt and a higher rating. Compare stats next game, CJ's 9th, and you'll see Stroud is right up there with Marino.
Different era, tight ends and running backs couldn't catch, QBs could be legally murdered on the field and wide receivers could be tackled during their route within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Marino's '84 season adjusted for inflation means he would throw 60 TDs and 6000 yards today
Stroud is about to take the league by storm... Texans struck GOLD taking Cj over Bryce. The Panthers owner is 100% punching the air right now knowing Frank Riech wanted Stroud but him being the owner and thinking he is a GM overrode that decision and drafted Bryce instead 😂😂😂 Now he's mad that his Panthers are league's WORST team blaming it all on the coach as if it wasn't HIM who screwed it all up. Panthers could have had CJ and been a competitive team. But they gifted the Texans a franchise QB who has literally turned the entire franchise around in half a year and has them competing like a top 16 squad 🔥. I'm massively impressed with this kid. He has the IT factor 100%
I would say that although Stroud likely is the better QB, Young would look much better on the Houston team and with those coaches. The Texans are definitely rebuilding the right way and have a lot of good people both coaching and on the field.
As a panthers fan who was hoping we moved up to take stroud, I’m happy he got with a coach that’s able to let him do what he’s doing. Our coaching/game plan is horrendous and it would probably take him down with it.
Can we get a balls deep on the storming Mormon " Taysom freaking Hill" he's fun enough to make a video on. Why aren't there more of him? I need answers.
Several thoughts on this video. I always look to Russell Wilson's rookie year as one of the best, partly because it came out of nowhere. Wilson, Luck and Griffin were insane that season. Plus Wilson tied Manning's rookie record for TD passes at 26 (and only 10 ints). Wilson came on halfway through the season and was just about unstoppable by the end of year. Don't forget his 4th quarter comeback against Atlanta in the playoffs. The Legion of Boom gave up a long pass to blow that. But Stroud just flat out is better (and I love me some Seattle Wilson football) Looking at that photo of Young, Stroud and Richardson together, one thing is obvious. Bryce Young needs dreads and he'll probably play as good as the other two (RIP Richardson's shoulder, of course) And finally...and this is tasteless, but is Stroud's mom single? I'd be proud to call CJ my son.
You forgot about Russell Wilson's 99 yd touchdown to win the game in Chicago his rookie year. I love stroud he's definitely Ballin, but that's a wait until the end of the season before we made the declaration like that And jason joy watching him grow as a quarterback Because recently we've seen some great rookies qb play justin herbert comes to mind immediately
Last game was ludicrous, the passes he was making throwing into tight coverage and threading the needle and hitting a receiver on the tit while under pressure was mind boggling
He's one of the few rookies who were surrounded by talent at WR in college and took the confidence to spread the ball around and not force the ball in the NFL.
Can’t wait to see Stroud win more and take the Texans to a Super Bowl someday very soon and to play many playoff games in the future. Regardless, keep up the good work and keep on winning Stroud
ROETHLISBERGER, ROETHLISBERGER, ROETHLISBERGER Roethlisberger went 13W to 0L in his rookie year as a starting QB for the Steelers in the regular season.
brandon really mixes that sincerity, absurd middle school humor, knowledge, and actually good comedy that really makes this my favorite NFL channel. Bless you Perna. as a die hard OSU fan though, Stroud is playing better in the pros than he did in college and he was great in college.
nope with just 3 months into the nfl as the starter tom brady won a super bowl. win one within 3 years and he can seen as good. now to be honest tom did have a rookie year in new england, but he played only 1-3 snaps in preseason that year so in 2001 2 weeks after sept. 11 he started playing full time and i think out of about 335 games he he played he won 251 of them or so losing less then 90 games for 23 years. show me any rookie even homeboy who can claim that fast a start.
As a cowboys fan, CJ Stroud is my favorite QB in the league. The kid is mature beyond his age with a poise to him that you can only hope for in your franchise guy. All at the age of 22. Much love to this man I hope he sees nothing but success.
Great start for CJ Stroud, but "best rookie QB ever"? We'll see at the end of wk 17 to be fair, but I know a QB that won OROY in 2016 that started all 16 games with 3,667 passing yards, 282 rushing yards, 29 total touchdowns, and only four interceptions, and his 67.8% completion percentage ranked fourth among NFL quarterbacks and he went 13-3 his rookie season.
His dad was a pastor and when CJ's parents divorced, it sent his dad on a downward spiral. His two prior crimes were 20 years before. That's one of the reasons CJ's using the "criminal injustice" (his words) as his platform, that he got dinged on the three strikes law for something that happened years before. He also has been reading up on the state of prisons in the US, finding that some of them are infested with rodents and bugs - esp in the South.
Hey, I’m at a Motel 6 in Sheboygan....I gave this young lady a ride about two miles out before I got here. She said she just needed a place to nap for a couple hours so I let her. I don't understand why Carolina picked young over stroud. Sure hindsight and all that but young is only 5 10". Height is one of those things that takes elite talent to make up. Not only did they give up a fortune for the number one pick, but they picked the wrong guy. Still don't get how that trade made sense. Two 1st round, two 2nd round and dj Moore for the number one overall? How does that sound worth it? I feel bad for young as they really set him up to fail. Just like how I feel bad watching the panthers. Their offense is garbage. 6 points on the bears? Wow.
It was pretty obvious that Stroud was going to have a bright future the moment the Panthers *didn't* draft him. First, I think the Panthers simply aren't capable of picking the best option. Second, the Panthers were going to guarantee their QB wasn't going to look great anyway.
omg i was already a CJ Stroud fan before first bc i love an underdog and second bc i put 10 bucks on him winning an upset mvp award... but after the stuff you added at the end??? shit i hope he ends up in the HOF!
Seriously? it "aint right" that his criminal thug of a dad is in jail serving time for the numerous crimes he committed? lol, good one CJ Shroud, good one.
I would like to point out that the Texans have put great pieces around Stroud to help him succeed unlike Young. Sure the texans roster is not the best, but it's not like Stroud is having success with nothing. A great LT, fast upcoming receivers, great OC, a great #1 TE. They've done a nice job.

Now he's mad that his Panthers are league's WORST team blaming it all on the coach as if it wasn't HIM who screwed it all up.
Woooh here with 2 mins and my friend is a illusional broncos fan saying Wilson is better then Dak
More chief jabs perna. Especially that wr room. Mahomes turning future real-estate agents into superbowl Champs.
Let’s go CJ 😤 I’m so glad we drafted this guy 🤘🏽
But Stroud just flat out is better (and I love me some Seattle Wilson football)
Looking at that photo of Young, Stroud and Richardson together, one thing is obvious. Bryce Young needs dreads and he'll probably play as good as the other two (RIP Richardson's shoulder, of course)
And finally...and this is tasteless, but is Stroud's mom single? I'd be proud to call CJ my son.
He can get them, he has an Afro now.
Russ deserves more respect, just because he's a weirdo doesn't mean he wasn't a great QB
It's definitely a possibility and that's crazy to say after more than half the season
Last game was ludicrous, the passes he was making throwing into tight coverage and threading the needle and hitting a receiver on the tit while under pressure was mind boggling
It’s real easy to avoid the three strikes rule. I don’t even know anyone with one strike it’s so easy. Three strike rules unequivocally reduced crime.
I’m so excited for this Linsanity run to end once Stroud becomes yet another failed OSU qb
ROETHLISBERGER, ROETHLISBERGER, ROETHLISBERGER
Roethlisberger went 13W to 0L in his rookie year as a starting QB for the Steelers in the regular season.
brandon really mixes that sincerity, absurd middle school humor, knowledge, and actually good comedy that really makes this my favorite NFL channel. Bless you Perna.
as a die hard OSU fan though, Stroud is playing better in the pros than he did in college and he was great in college.
Him talking openly about the justice system makes me instantly like him a 1000% more
I think that CJ is the result of the new version of football being played and he is just the first of many to come.
Jack off Easterby is why we have no talent, Caserio has actually been doing a pretty good job drafting considering the circumstances
nope with just 3 months into the nfl as the starter tom brady won a super bowl. win one within 3 years and he can seen as good. now to be honest tom did have a rookie year in new england, but he played only 1-3 snaps in preseason that year so in 2001 2 weeks after sept. 11 he started playing full time and i think out of about 335 games he he played he won 251 of them or so losing less then 90 games for 23 years. show me any rookie even homeboy who can claim that fast a start.
As a hawks fan who wanted us to tank last year to get Stroud I'm not surprised
Cheer up mate, you have a rejuvenated Geno to lead the SeaChickens to a robust 9-8 season
Brandon Perna has ice in his veins. He always comes through when you need him the most.
As an Ohio State fan I love seeing Stroud succeed and hope all the best for him. As a Bengals fan, however...
As a diehard Michigan fan, I can say that CJ Stroud is my favorite OSU qb by miles, and I’m happy to see him killing it in the league
The first dislike is gonna be from Justin Herbert isnt it?
But happy for CJ doing very well. . . . in the Texans
As a Broncos fan , this video made me a fan of CJ that story about his dad and how he came up made me cry . I hope that kid succeeds !
CJ is just the beginning of the next generation of NFL QBs to come, with white guys leading the NBA black QBs will take the NFL 🤷🏾♂️
Hey, I’m at a Motel 6 in Sheboygan....I gave this young lady a ride about two miles out before I got here. She said she just needed a place to nap for a couple hours so I let her. I took a nap and when I woke up.... she and my wallet was gone!! I was just being nice, and I assure you I was not soliciting.…. Noooo not me😶😶 You think I should call the cops? Someone help me…. PLEASE!!
As a Dolphins fan I say I hope he never gets hurt and he is Mahomes' successor
Even if everything goes south from here, CJ Stroud deserves a shitload of respect for what he has gone thru.
Wow.
No one talks about the story of Stroud telling the texans to draft Tank Dell, they have that chemistry
Perna tryna shade mahomes so hard lol. He is right tho. Qbs have to have receivers that can get at least a little separation and freaking catch.
It was pretty obvious that Stroud was going to have a bright future the moment the Panthers *didn't* draft him. First, I think the Panthers simply aren't capable of picking the best option. Second, the Panthers were going to guarantee their QB wasn't going to look great anyway.
No, not HOF'er, at least, not yet. But if he stays healthy, then.... Class of Very good so far. And that's good enough.
I'm a Packers fan, but I'm 100% sold on Stroud leading the Texans to a Super Bowl win within 7 years
omg i was already a CJ Stroud fan before first bc i love an underdog and second bc i put 10 bucks on him winning an upset mvp award... but after the stuff you added at the end??? shit i hope he ends up in the HOF!
Andrew luck was so good and its a shame how people forget. Colts won 9 more games with his rookie year.
Stroud’s definitely the easiest QB to root for that’s not on your team. It’d be crazy and awesome if the Texans manage to snag a wildcard this year.
In a modern league full of mediocre to just plain bad QB’s… the Buckeyes have graced us with this superstar.
Brandon “i can’t believe the Broncos have to face this guy on December 5” Perna
As a Titans fan i hope the Texans continue on their grind because we're screwed 😂 lol
Now that Levis is showing that he can go you guys might have a quarterback after all too.
Nope not Stroud. It was your man Russell Wilson back when he was athletic and could run. He had an 11-5 record.
I did not know all this about Stroud until this video. I'm now a huge fan.
I fucking hate Ohio State, but I love a lot of their alumni in the NFL. Watching this dude ball is just awesome.
I had ice in my veins once. Took me about 3 days to come down but the experience of being up for multiple days straight was a memorable one..
Seriously? it "aint right" that his criminal thug of a dad is in jail serving time for the numerous crimes he committed?
lol, good one CJ Shroud, good one.
Everytime he says he's gonna go "balls deep into ____" I chuckle about it.
I'm not proud of it, but Perna gets my sense of humor.
Rookie Years: Ben Roethlisberger had a 13-1 record & Kurt Warner won the Super Bowl.
Didn’t Kurt Warner win the superbowl as a rookie in 1999 with the St. Louis rams? 🤔
Can we please only call Deshaun Watson happy ending from now on. I think it's fair my friend.
He's no Caleb Williams. Who's already a first ballot NFL hall of famer if you ask the talking-heads
Perna got that dawg in him, doc put a stethoscope to his chest and only heard 'WOOF WOOF WOOF'.
His father is in prison for "car jacking, kidnapping, and robbery." Nah, he can stay behind bars.
I would like to point out that the Texans have put great pieces around Stroud to help him succeed unlike Young. Sure the texans roster is not the best, but it's not like Stroud is having success with nothing. A great LT, fast upcoming receivers, great OC, a great #1 TE. They've done a nice job.
Have you seen what his dad did tho…. The justice system isn’t perfect but like some people deserve to be in jail…
