Happy for you guys down there. That's what is great about the NFL draft. A down and out team like the Texans are given an opportunity to choose before the better performing teams to try and pick a rookie player that will make a difference and turn the franchise around. If you hit like the Texans did with Stroud it can bring the team back to relevancy.

A lot of you are thinking of Dan Marino's first full year, 1984. His rookie year was 1983 and he was good, but he only started 9 games. He's got more TD passes and fewer sacks taken than CJ (unless CJ throws for 6 TDs next game), but far fewer INTs, better completion percentage and yards per attempt and a higher rating. Compare stats next game, CJ's 9th, and you'll see Stroud is right up there with Marino.

Stroud is about to take the league by storm... Texans struck GOLD taking Cj over Bryce. The Panthers owner is 100% punching the air right now knowing Frank Riech wanted Stroud but him being the owner and thinking he is a GM overrode that decision and drafted Bryce instead 😂😂😂
Now he's mad that his Panthers are league's WORST team blaming it all on the coach as if it wasn't HIM who screwed it all up. Panthers could have had CJ and been a competitive team. But they gifted the Texans a franchise QB who has literally turned the entire franchise around in half a year and has them competing like a top 16 squad 🔥. I'm massively impressed with this kid. He has the IT factor 100%

I would say that although Stroud likely is the better QB, Young would look much better on the Houston team and with those coaches. The Texans are definitely rebuilding the right way and have a lot of good people both coaching and on the field.

As a panthers fan who was hoping we moved up to take stroud, I’m happy he got with a coach that’s able to let him do what he’s doing.
Our coaching/game plan is horrendous and it would probably take him down with it.

    Several thoughts on this video.
I always look to Russell Wilson's rookie year as one of the best, partly because it came out of nowhere. Wilson, Luck and Griffin were insane that season. Plus Wilson tied Manning's rookie record for TD passes at 26 (and only 10 ints). Wilson came on halfway through the season and was just about unstoppable by the end of year. Don't forget his 4th quarter comeback against Atlanta in the playoffs. The Legion of Boom gave up a long pass to blow that. But Stroud just flat out is better (and I love me some Seattle Wilson football)
Looking at that photo of Young, Stroud and Richardson together, one thing is obvious. Bryce Young needs dreads and he'll probably play as good as the other two (RIP Richardson's shoulder, of course)
And finally...and this is tasteless, but is Stroud's mom single? I'd be proud to call CJ my son.

nope with just 3 months into the nfl as the starter tom brady won a super bowl. win one within 3 years and he can seen as good. now to be honest tom did have a rookie year in new england, but he played only 1-3 snaps in preseason that year so in 2001 2 weeks after sept. 11 he started playing full time and i think out of about 335 games he he played he won 251 of them or so losing less then 90 games for 23 years. show me any rookie even homeboy who can claim that fast a start.

Great start for CJ Stroud, but "best rookie QB ever"? We'll see at the end of wk 17 to be fair, but I know a QB that won OROY in 2016 that started all 16 games with 3,667 passing yards, 282 rushing yards, 29 total touchdowns, and only four interceptions, and his 67.8% completion percentage ranked fourth among NFL quarterbacks and he went 13-3 his rookie season.

His dad was a pastor and when CJ's parents divorced, it sent his dad on a downward spiral. His two prior crimes were 20 years before. That's one of the reasons CJ's using the "criminal injustice" (his words) as his platform, that he got dinged on the three strikes law for something that happened years before. He also has been reading up on the state of prisons in the US, finding that some of them are infested with rodents and bugs - esp in the South.

I don't understand why Carolina picked young over stroud. Sure hindsight and all that but young is only 5 10". Height is one of those things that takes elite talent to make up. Not only did they give up a fortune for the number one pick, but they picked the wrong guy. Still don't get how that trade made sense. Two 1st round, two 2nd round and dj Moore for the number one overall? How does that sound worth it?
I feel bad for young as they really set him up to fail. Just like how I feel bad watching the panthers. Their offense is garbage. 6 points on the bears? Wow.

It was pretty obvious that Stroud was going to have a bright future the moment the Panthers *didn't* draft him. First, I think the Panthers simply aren't capable of picking the best option. Second, the Panthers were going to guarantee their QB wasn't going to look great anyway.
