This is the best, and most comprehensive, “how to” video on the web. Great advice and instructions. Thank you!

I am really learning, Only channel like this. Beams during loadshedding sets off alarm so this will be my fix.

All of your videos really helped me, and technically this one supposed to work too, but my ids alarm can't make it past 2 hours, and I have new batteries 1 x 18amp sherlo pack for zones and receiver, 1 sherlo 7amp sherlo pack for Beams and 7 Amp battery for the alarm alone, all new batteries and after 1 hour loadshedding the alarm goes dead.

Hi, great videos it's always awesome to hear a fellow saffa on RUclips!
How does this differ from a normal power supply? I noticed this has an extra battery input. I wanted to "grid" all my 12vDC equipment to a single supply and ( 70ah gel) battery but I was afraid of the different charging source conflicting.

Question so the battery, power supply output and 12v of the alarm battery are in parallel

My Swann security works on 12v supply so I just use a car battery and supply directly from battery to PVR and a float charger plugged into the wall.

Hi, thanks for the great video. My question is connecting the output supply from the backup Securi-Prod power supply to my existing Paradox alarm system. I do not have any outdoor beams or cameras.
You mention connecting it to the sensor wires but am not sure which ones they are? Is there not another or easier place to connect it to my system e.g to the same place that the existing 7 a/h battery is connected to the panel?

Can one install a 12v dc ups (like the router ups) instead of the this unit? Keypad to remain on the alarm panel though.

The reason for the 13+V is because it was charging. Anything charging will have a higher voltage. Once charge to 100%, it will settle around 12.7V

My alarm system has a one pair of fly-leads to charge and utilize (in event of a power failure) the 7ah built-in battery.
How do I wire this unit to power the entire alarm?

Hey, nice video, goeie werk! I want to upgrade my Paradox SP6000 using the Securi-Prod charger / psu and 18ah battery as in this video. Unfortunately the Paradox can only charge the battery at a rate of 350mA (can be changed to 700mA). This is quote a slow charge rate and it will take close to 30h to charge a 18ah battery, therefore the requirement for a faster charge time.
I was wondering If it is possible to connect the 12v battery connector on the Paradox SP6000 motherboard directly to the 12v output on the Securi-Pord PSU? Or can I connect the Paradox SP6000 battery connector directly to the battery terminals in the Securi-Prod enclosure?

If I want to use this device as a backup power for my routers, would it be better to get a gel battery vs a lead acid battery?

I got a sherlo backup unit and i didnt realise its a bunch of 1.1A outputs. Can i do just 1 peripheral per output (eg sms module 1, remote control module another, passives a 3rd)? How do i be sure im not going over 1.1A for each output?

My Alarm guy connected a cable from the battery terminals on the Sherlo 6.4A directly to the battery terminals on the Alarm, he also put in a diode on the alarm battery side so it doesn't feed power back to the Sherlo. This way it powers everything that's connected to my panel..

Hi. Can you advise please? I live in Europe, and have a 240volt 13amp supply. I want to backup an 8 camera NVR router CCTV system where we have fairly frequent power failures of approximately 2 to 8 hours. Can you recommend a backup system for me with a link to purchase?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  5 лет назад

we need to do a power calculation: 8 cameras @ +- 7-12W = 56-96 W (camera use more power at night). NVR = 15W. Monitor? You didn't mention, if yes then size and is it eco? Lets say 40W for monitor. Therefore total power = 151W on full load. For 240V there are losses for the conversion of 240 to 12V. Total power from your plug point would be max about 167W (if efficiency is 90%). Since you said max power outage is 8 hours, then you need 167x8hours = 1,336kWh of energy. I suggest an online UPS
      ruclips.net/video/Qi94u31HFX8/видео.html
link is an example. They are available in Europe but would be branded by another company. The reason why i dont recommend a 12V backup supply is that your NVR/DVR usually run on 48V so you would need a backup for cameras at 12V and one for NVR at 48V. If you dont use the monitor, you will be able to select a smaller UPS. My advice is a UPS with 100Ah battery bank is the minimum for this setup to run 8 hours.
