You mentioned one very important point (apart from many other)... how we tend to judge people not only politicians but almost everyone by what we see in the news and we react accordingly. I have never gone to Gorakhpur, but I have a few friends who reside there. One of them is a Muslim and he had told me about the Janta Darbars of Mr. Adityanath and how everyone gets help and I really appreciate that. Every MLA/MP must take up such kind of initiatives to resolve the issues within the constituency. Another thing which I see about the media is that they release clips of 15 seconds or 30 seconds. They never show the whole speech. Of course, no one is going to sit in front of the television for 1 hour and the media exploits this anxiety and eagerness that we have. PS: Since this looks to me like a peace forum, I would take up the opportunity to categorically state in front of the many Hindus that just like Mr. Adityanath shouldn't be judged on the basis of some speeches which he made... similarly we shouldn't judge any other leader for the venom which they have spewed and caused ruckus in the society and tried to kill the social equilibrium. Excellent characterization of Yogi Adityanath by shantanu gupta...I had similar doubts,when he was announced the CM of UP and wondered at the wisdom of it by both amit shah ji and Modi ji[mainly amit shah,who stood firm in his decision after having stayed at the mutt for months before UP campaigning]..I immediately checked all his debates in the lok sabha and his various public speeches,including those ,which were DEEMED to be communal.Since the main stream media was mostly against him or were ignorant, went on to check the local channels of UP..That did the job...His janata darbar is testament to the fact that both- hindus and muslims,come together and ask for help and he solves everybody's problems,to the best of his ability..He is knowledgeable,has graduated in math and science,is well read,knows the problems of his people,has reach,in the administrative departments in UP [be it mulayam,akhilesh/mayawathi],was the youngest member of loksabha-age @19,has fought vigorously for japanese encephalitis in gorakhpur[which killed thousands of people esp children each year],has brought in AIIMS and the local muslims swear that ,he is the first person to appear and lend them a hand eg; when they had a fire,that ravaged the neighbourhood near the mutt,and fire station in akhilesh's time didn't respond, he with his men helped put out the fire and saved people in the neighbourhood and housed/fed them, till the buildings were deemed safe to move in...His so-called 'communal' speeches were actually given in response to the local issues happening at the time around gorakhpur,as he was invited to travel around UP and people flocked in to tell him their problems ,as the district administration simply didn't work during SP's times...it was dabangi- raj, women didn't have the safety/security, to go to a police station to lodge a complaint or if they did they were threatened,yogi was merely responding to the fact that girls were kidnapped and forcibly converted/married,on the way to school/college etc and the administration remained MUTE...Those were the times ,when local goondas belonging to SP party or those encouraged by Azam khan,used to knock on the doors and ask for girls by name@ 2am....And the police remained spectators,they wouldn't dare to arrest anyone belonging to azam khan or SP/BSP...I think Yogi ji has done a wonderful job ,in a place like UP[with its caste ratios and parties like BSP/SP,who claim they are solely for muslims or dalits], bringing in a sense of calm and security and for all the obstacles he faces,he is still pushing ahead with development and yet balancing the aspirations of the people of UP be they Hindus or Muslims...

@abdullah, I believe Yogi ji is different to other politicians due to his guided principles. Karma (Work) do the work and rewards will be given later. Whereas other politicians also work, but for the money or power. perceptions can be deceptive, as you said with 15 or 30 seconds of video clip how can we judge a person. some times it takes a life time to understand someone.

Excellent characterization of Yogi Adityanath by shantanu gupta...I had similar doubts,when he was announced the CM of UP and wondered at the wisdom of it by both amit shah ji and Modi ji[mainly amit shah,who stood firm in his decision after having stayed at the mutt for months before UP campaigning]..I immediately checked all his debates in the lok sabha and his various public speeches,including those ,which were DEEMED to be communal.Since the main stream media was mostly against him or were ignorant, went on to check the local channels of UP..That did the job...His janata darbar is testament to the fact that both- hindus and muslims,come together and ask for help and he solves everybody's problems,to the best of his ability..He is knowledgeable,has graduated in math and science,is well read,knows the problems of his people,has reach,in the administrative departments in UP [be it mulayam,akhilesh/mayawathi],was the youngest member of loksabha-age @19,has fought vigorously for japanese encephalitis in gorakhpur[which killed thousands of people esp children each year],has brought in AIIMS and the local muslims swear that ,he is the first person to appear and lend them a hand eg; when they had a fire,that ravaged the neighbourhood near the mutt,and fire station in akhilesh's time didn't respond, he with his men helped put out the fire and saved people in the neighbourhood and housed/fed them, till the buildings were deemed safe to move in...His so-called 'communal' speeches were actually given in response to the local issues happening at the time around gorakhpur,as he was invited to travel around UP and people flocked in to tell him their problems ,as the district administration simply didn't work during SP's times...it was dabangi- raj, women didn't have the safety/security, to go to a police station to lodge a complaint or if they did they were threatened,yogi was merely responding to the fact that girls were kidnapped and forcibly converted/married,on the way to school/college etc and the administration remained MUTE...Those were the times ,when local goondas belonging to SP party or those encouraged by Azam khan,used to knock on the doors and ask for girls by name@ 2am....And the police remained spectators,they wouldn't dare to arrest anyone belonging to azam khan or SP/BSP...I think Yogi ji has done a wonderful job ,in a place like UP[with its caste ratios and parties like BSP/SP,who claim they are solely for muslims or dalits], bringing in a sense of calm and security and for all the obstacles he faces,he is still pushing ahead with development and yet balancing the aspirations of the people of UP be they Hindus or Muslims...
