Alessandro and Fiannah, what a lovely, and inspiring interview! Thank you so much! I kind of think that The way to start out in performing, is by doing a one-woman or one-man show because how else can one discover who one is as a performer? The performer, undiluted. And it's an equally good way for others to discover who one is...and from there, maybe other things come out of it, or may be the solo shows remain The thing! This interview was 6 years ago, so, I wonder how you're getting on, Fiannah?! Really well, I bet!
I directed one-woman shows "Shirley Valentine" and "Jenny Keeps Talking". I also performed the show "Jenny Keeps Talking." These two plays inspired me to write my own. It was stand-up comedy & storytelling & various sketch characters. It was a hit but wearing all hats left me exhausted. I had to run the production, business, directing, and writing. Much of what I wrote changed in the moment on stage. Writers never quit writing. Actors need a director. I live in an area where getting a team together isn't an option. I've been away from the theater for ten years. I feel like writing another show. I enjoyed this interview. Thank You!

I enjoyed this very much as I do a show on youtube. So good to hear what others are doing out there. Cheers. Lola LaRue
