For testosterone: You need patience for a baby. You want a safe environment and are more tolerant of annoying people, to keep the 'scene' safe. With our newborn, I dont have as much energy/time to workout as I did before. Also, things are more 'cute' than before the baby lol
Strange, I feel more ambitious because I want to provide for my baby. Also, I believe my testosterone was going down prior to baby because I used to train but had stopped due to a pretty major injury, however I noticed if my baby was put in a position where she could be harmed, even minor stuff, I felt ready to fight anyone. Js wierd how everyone's body is different
It’s interesting that you say that. My husband felt extremely ambitious with his first child and with our second, he calmed down a lot and he described it as more of a focused ambition and mindful drive. More planned out. He enjoys staying home with us more this time around. It’s nice and at the same time I can still see how ambitious he is but also how much he takes the time to sit and relax and enjoy the moments with us .

Trainer here . Keep your T levels up by doing push ups (50 reps) crunches or sit ups (50 reps) and body weight squats (50 reps) twice a day. Once in the AM and PM. Walk with your baby outside if it is not too hot. You can also pace back and forward in your home if you have the space to do so.
Exercise can cause short, transient increases in testosterone. Heavier compound lifts especially. It’s not going to increase T levels and keep them up.
I can second the dangers of baby walkers. When I was a baby all those 30+ years ago my dad said I nearly died when I fell out of a baby walker and landed next to the fireplace. As a baby I was attracted by the light of the flames so I crawled into the flames. A few weeks in hospital and I made a full recovery but definitely not safe.
Well ya don’t just throw a baby in a walker & look the other way. Its the most common mistake. 24/7 next to the kid no matter what they are doing. If i gotta pee, i drag her in the walker into the bathroom…. Nothing to do with the walker unless ya rely on it to parent.
Love the video. Definitely didn't expect the PP hair loss -- but what's even crazier is I didn't lose hair pretty much for my entire pregnancy until about 3 months post partum. Then all the hair shed! It was crazy! The human body is REMARKABLE. We just had our first baby 18 months ago, and all your points are SPOT ON and all the things we ultimately learned, but would've loved a video like this
The hair shedding is due to the fact that when pregnant, hair gets locked into whatever phase it's in at the time. So hair that's currently in a growth or dormant phase doesn't cycle into a shedding phase for all those months (people normally shed 100 hairs per day). That's why pregnant women tend to have thing, long hair. It just keeps growing and not shedding! After about 3-4 months post-partum, when hormones shift, hair that was in growth or dormant phases cycles into the shedding phase.
when i was a baby i was in a baby walker and my grandma walked away to use the restroom and i tipped over a frying pan with oil in it. luckily the clinic took care of me and i dont have any signs of oil burn BUT still

Where I have a different perspective is that there is value in letting kids learn and explore on their own and not constantly asking questions or describing what's happening. From my understanding about Montessori and Montessori based toys, the parent's job is to help the child only when needed and to let them play and explore their toys freely. The toys themselves do have an impact on how the baby learns and there's a difference between natural, non-mechanical toys vs. plastic, mechanical toys that impact how they learn. Of course Western Doctors don’t agree but there are tribes and families all over the world who live off of things that western doctors advise not to consume.
Didn’t know that about the “soft spots”. I was always told not to press it or your baby will loose their breathe. I’ve always been SUPER careful when it came to that. I’m still going to be careful cause it’s branded into my brain

1. No honey in the first year. 2. Learning toys don't help babies get smarter, the parent's engagement does. 3. Men's testosterone levels drop after they become dads. 4. Babies are born with fontanelles, soft spots in their head. 5. Introduce peanut products to the baby early on.
One thing that no one told us about was simethicone gas drops. Not even any of the many hospital staff. Being first time parents and having our sweet little newborn crying in utter discomfort was absolutely disconcerting . We were scared and didn’t know what to do. Headed for the emergency room , we called the nurse line and they were like “ Oh , haven’t you tried gas drops ? We discussed that all of the doctors and prenatal professionals must take for granted that someone along the way must have transmitted that tidbit of information . Mind you we tried to research a lot of first time parenting info and videos and never came across this.

Israel apparently had the least amount of peanut allergies developed because they've been feeding their babies peanut puffs, right now we're just giving him cereal + water + peanut butter mix in the morning, but I'm going to see where I can find these "Bamba" snacks :)
Let me add one more: be aware of potential dysplasia in your newborn (it’s important to notice it in the first 6 months) this relates with the right placement of their hips and legs. Important to keep an eye on it and follow it with your pediatrician.

If it’s still persisting may be a good idea to get her thyroid checked. It’s crazy how after baby comes virtually no tests resume for the mom. I got a blood test when baby was 6 months old because my hair was still falling out and I was soooo exhausted and it was actually due to hypothyroidism, I had to get described synthroid :( but it has helped tremendously. Worth getting checked!
Please do a comparison of the Mockingbird and Venice Child Maverick! With the Maverick you can have the toddler face outward with an infant on top but the seats look smaller??

We've used a Nanit Plus for the last 8.5 months. It worked great at first, but got really spotty in the last few months. I have to reset it by unplugging it about every 3 days. The failure mode is that it just doesn't work - the apps never connect.
I like your videos Andrew, very informative. Keep up the great work 💪👍👏 Quick question though....what was the name of that tricycle that had the long bar in the back that the parent could steer? I remember seeing it in one of your videos, but don't remember the name of it. I'm thinking about getting one for my son.
That food allergy thing blows my mind. I have a 3 month old, 10 year old and 11 year old. I remember my dad giving my oldest peanut butter crackers when she was under 2 and I got so mad and was freaking out because I've always heard not to give any form of peanuts before 2. I guess a lot has changed in over a decade lol
The infant walker study was inconclusive. Done by 2 guys on 109 kids in the late 90’s. Shouldn’t even be reported on unless the study can be done correctly (ongoing). Seems more like they are worried about irresponsible parents. So yea, not conclusive, my kids legs are strong & shes almost walking @ 8 months.
So good to see a young guy being this good of a dad. I have only just stumbled across this channel. I will be re visiting. Thanks for your tips the honey one is one I didn’t know and is great info. Thanks man
I didn’t know about number 3 and as far as the newborn not having any tears I didn’t know that until I had my baby in September 2020 and found out for myself first hand
Independent play is sooo important for babies/children too, though. And if a toy is passive (electronic, flashing lights, sounds, etc), the baby’s brain doesn’t have to work as hard. Lovevery and Kiwi Co are great companies, because they access developmental stages in the brain with their products. I understand where you’re coming from, but you can’t say that the toys that babies are playing with have *nothing* to do with their development. That is just plain wrong, my friend. 🤗

@@nishienish26 Thank you so much for your advise! I will definitely talk to my wife about this, thank you again.
Please do a comparison of the Mockingbird and Venice Child Maverick! With the Maverick you can have the toddler face outward with an infant on top but the seats look smaller??
These tips are super helpful, thanks for this great backlog of content! What brand is that sweatshirt, it looks super comfy!
THIS IS AWESOME! very informative, thank you Sir!
I’m 15 and I’m watching this for my future life
Thanks for the content! This is for my friend who is going to be a dad soon. Hope you learn from this Luigi Jericho Caparas from Sto. Domingo, Capas, Tarlac!
Thank you mate, this really help me as im expecting my first child in 4 months. Im as a new dad is excited and scared..

Appreciate the videos! Please keep them coming
So glad I came across this channel man, definitely liked and subbed, this is great keep it up @Dad Verb
Yeah baby monitors are easily hackable. There’s even been cases of strangers talking the babys.
We've used a Nanit Plus for the last 8.5 months. It worked great at first, but got really spotty in the last few months. I have to reset it by unplugging it about every 3 days. The failure mode is that it just doesn't work - the apps never connect.
New mom here! Love your channel. Subscribed.
Only bad part is you closed off the field completely. Just did the same thing last yr on a 1/4th ac. Had to go back consolidate and move trees/piles
That’s y I was crying when my girl was born and my wife was super confused 🤷♀️
I'm also super confused!
Bro where did you get that hoodie?
Yes, Andrew please share where you got that hoodie
It's from Legends. Some of my favorite men's athleisure gear: bit.ly/38IldIV
I like your videos Andrew, very informative. Keep up the great work 💪👍👏
Quick question though....what was the name of that tricycle that had the long bar in the back that the parent could steer? I remember seeing it in one of your videos, but don't remember the name of it. I'm thinking about getting one for my son.
Ironically enough, his video for it shows up in the suggestions in the RH column. Doona Liki!
@@etmccaus thanks Evan. I see Amazon has it for $300. I didn't think it would be that expensive 😕
That was the Doona Liki Trike. I'm planning to do a balance bike v. trike comparison. Between the two, I'd recommend balance bikes.
@@dadverb cool thanks, can't wait to see that video. I hope you and your family continue to stay safe 🙏
Honey also contains small amounts of listeria and it’s also dangerous.
The 2d tip is soooo useful!
Awesome, great video. Thank you
In the same category as honey are home canned foods. Under one shouldn't have those either for the same reason
Why am I just now finding out about this channel?? 😂😂 Father of four over here
So good to see a young guy being this good of a dad. I have only just stumbled across this channel. I will be re visiting. Thanks for your tips the honey one is one I didn’t know and is great info. Thanks man
Good video. You should make more like these. Thanks.
Thanks, this was great!
I didn’t know about number 3 and as far as the newborn not having any tears I didn’t know that until I had my baby in September 2020 and found out for myself first hand
Aww what day I had my baby September 10th of 2020! 🥰
@@shunel3507 September 7th . Very close
Great video! I thought that you would have talked about water also, after you talked about honey.
Great video thanks for the info.
What do you recommend instead of walkers? Because I just got one for my son haha
you know what would be funny? if this video is sponsored by honey
