Ahhh, this is just what I needed right now, something to tide me over while I wait for the rest of my parts to come in. I just got an OME suspension for my '03 Tracker ZR2 and let me tell you, it was pricey but it did WONDERS for the handling. Everyone always whines about lift kits negatively impacting the road manners of their DD's but the OME kit actually IMPROVES all aspects of suspension performance while adding a moderate lift on it's own. I can't say enough about it without sounding like a commercial and my stress level maneuvering at high speed or on dicey corners is dramatically reduced now since the handling is more predictable than stock. I haven't had a chance to try it out in more extreme off road conditions yet since I'm still mid build but I can already tell it's going to be much less anxiety off road. Their springs add 1" of lift by themselves without resulting in a stiff or sloppy ride and the shocks/struts are 2" oversize from stock, which gives a little extra articulation. I'm finishing the lift with 1" coil spacers and throwing on some Firestone Destination A/T 235/75's which are 2" over stock. It's a DD so can't get too carried away with big meat chopping it (yet). If you have a DD/weekend warrior those are an often overlooked but remarkably good tire for the price. FYI, you need to do the nylon bushing mod on the passenger side receiver of the front diff though, or you end up blowing the oil seal and slowly pissing out your gear oil through it. If you haven't done that or heard of it yet, I highly suggest you dig through the suzuki forums and do that. I'll have to take some video once I get it ready for offroading again. In the meantime I'm going to rebuild my actuator pump since it seems to have a steadily increasing leak in it that keeps getting worse. If your green 4WD light fever lashes more often than once or twice a minute then you have a leak in your actuator system. Mine went from flashing once every 5-6 seconds to flashing twice a second, so now the pump can barely keep up. If I didn't like that SOTF so much I would do what Mr Sputnik did and just hard rig the pinion to the ring gear and get some Warn locking hubs, which also saves all that wear and drag. I guess if a hub goes on me I may do it but for now all the money is going into tires, suspension and armor LOL. Cheers and hope to see more videos...
p.s. if you happen to know who has bull bars with wrap around bush guards or even a custom winch ready bumper for these I have had a hell of a time finding anything OTS that can just be bolted/welded and called a day. I got a nice deal on a new WARN VR 10000 winch but there's no way that's just going to tuck in somewhere. I got a quote for $1200 to have a custom bumper made for it with a six week turnaround time and so far it seems like nobody has a cheaper off the shelf option yet for these 2nd gen tracker/vitaras. :/
Yeah I think mine is almost due for timing chain. I know first hand how crappy it is when it pops while you're driving it. If you want, check out "island cup 2016" vancouver island. The shop I got my work done at sponsors and competes in it. They have some pretty crazy rigs. Cheers!
