The reason I like this movie, other than the fact I'm a sucker for romance, is the way it's filmed. I love how it cuts back to their first meeting, when she says, "My name is Latika."
This was the scene where I was almost breathless, and it really made me cry to the point that I had a stomachache, it touch me to a personal level. POWERFULL MOVIE.

This was such a great movie. When I watched it, I couldn't stop smiling whole day. Really this made me believe that true love does really exist. I love this movie!
Who would've thought that the music from a game show could be used so powerfully in a film? This is why Danny Boyle is so good, not so much the visuals (which are indeed top-notch) but the way he uses music and sound.
The WHOLE movie was incredibly intense right from the get go. I saw this on Valentine's day and the theater was packed.(Unusual in these days of Netflix, etc.) When the final question came up on the screen the whole audience gasped. Already a classic.
Even though I had already seen this scene ahead of time, I was still nervous when I watched the movie last night and this scene came on. The movie really is something else. I'll honestly be surprised if it doesn't win the oscar for best picture.
This scene is so powerful! It basically sums up all of his life and makes the audience feel so happy. Tbh I almost stood up and cheered when he got the answer correct! xD
I can't believe some of the hateful things people can come up with these days. This is one of the best films I have ever seen and the fact that they are different is why it is such a special movie. The story is fantastic and can't get enough of it. Bravo Slumdog Millionaire, it deserved every award it recieved!
I couldn't stay in my seat when he picked the question. You feel so much sympathy for the poor guy that you really want him to win the 20 million rupees. Great movie! Best I've ever seen!
when I was in the movies at that moment I was crying so much that my stomach started to hurt, and I needed to breath...this movie is so great, that like Rob Hilton says: "Everybody rubs their movie ticket on themselves, because this is OHMIGOD THE BEST MOVIE EVER EVER EVER"
I have it on DVD, and I took it to my friend's house to show it to him. He is one of those "Saving Private Ryan"-style movie fans. He was reluctant at first, but once the movie starts he just sat glued to the couch. Only when this scene came on did he start jumping around going "pick it up Latika, pick it up."
+Wing Alex Dude no one gives a shit. This movie was a masterpiece. Understand that films aren't about how much sense the story makes, it is about how the story is told.
He told the police that he didn't know who was the third musketeer so it actually makes a lot of sense, considering that the host didn't want him to win.
Not necessarily, no one would expect an uneducated slumdog" to the know the answer of a character name of French novel written a few hundred years before.
+smiped India isn't some undeveloped wasteland. Although a lot of poverty is portrayed in the media, India has parts and classes as developed as you country (if not more). We have some of the best colleges in the world. It is ignorant for you to assume that we are underdeveloped and that we don't read.
@@TheSuperCoolPop What you said is only true if you were able to obtain the education in the first place. Jamal was never given an education nor did he go to any academic institution. A simple question about a famous story would be hard for someone who doesn’t know it.
ive watched this movie about 4 times and my heart still thumps in this sceane and the one were he answers the question even though i know whats going to happen :)
Fortunately, I've watched the movie already, so this isn't anything I haven't seen...but WOW. It's pretty ballsy putting such an important scene up on youtube! Personally, I think watching it before watching the movie kinda spoils it. You know, by watching this clip, that the find each other; one of the best (and most gut-wrenching) aspects of the movie was whether or not Latika and Jamal would meet again... Of course, the movie is amazing enough to watching while still having seen this.
Beautiful. We have all been there. There is that one woman that we would do anything for and suffer through anything for. Sometimes her name is Latika and sometimes her name is "Tyler" or Summer. It is what it is.
The music and visual effects matched perfectly and transported me into the dark dream of the grid. The important thing was not to think. See this movie on kookicá and enjoy!
I think I've fallen in love with that three Guys playing the role of Jamal (I hope I spelled the name correctly) the childhood version of Jamal, the teenage version of Jamal, and The Adult version of Jamal.... Slumdog millionaire really hit me in!
omg i watched this movie when i was on a plane and when this scene came it stopped right when she says "My name is Latika" because it was a stopover in Guam and I was soooo angry xD buttt I ended up watching it minutes later :D i love this movie
read the book 'Q&A' if you liked this. the movie was based on the book, its pretty much the same gist of the movie, and how he gets arrested because they think he cheated and he used events of his life, its just that his life had different moments and different names and such. its really good and the author is Vikas Swarup
I want to see another film from India to be brought to theaters here in the U.S.A. Anything from drama, like Slumdog Millionaire, or anything that is sci-fi, comedy, action, adventure, or whatever else for categories for movies.
I think it's safe to say that it wouldn't have mattered to Jamal if he lost, cus he probably already felt like he won when he knew Latika was safe
Exactly, which is why he just says, whatever, A
when she states her name and they flashback to her as a child stating her name, that part always gets me.
Hello sir Can you please reply?
@@Someone-ln8vk why?

I've seen this movie about a dozen times. Every time, I'm afraid she won't reach the phone in time.

I wish all names were in movies that well spoken! And I discovered this by accident!!! Now I'll have to rewatch the movie 💖💖💖
Great scene. I love how they cut back to the scene in the rain where Latika first introduced herself.

Salim's face when the host says "That isn't your brother" It was unintentionally funny.

I still tear up a bit when I watch this scene.
the film is so perfectly fitted together (:
soo good:)
Heyy , you still on RUclips?😳
Dude, this part had me on my toes. I almost cried when she was running to the phone.
This is the moment Jamal finally finds his destiny
I'm sorry but Jamal's love for Latika is PSYCHOTIC. He truly loved her. That kind of love is truly unreal
one of my fav scenes from the movie I love how he just lights up when he hears her voice :]
