@@shashankshrivastava2131 Are you in denial, these same slums still exist. Its even worse since Covid started. Just because its not as bad around you doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
This was the perfect song for this series of shots. It was so uncanny how the lyrics matched EXACTLY what was going in Salim and Jamal's life. It's like this song was written just for this sequence. That, and I'm so glad they did do quick cuts when the audio for the gunshots play. That would be such a cheap way of doing it. The way they did it is so original and meaningful.
this movie was so good that when i got home. i had tears from remembering how incredible it was. some parts of the movie were so intense i twitched. yet some parts were so romantic people were choking up in the theater. def the funniest most haunting tear-jerker ive ever seen. possibly my favorite movie of all time. i saw Valyrie today...it was good, but i kept getting distracted cus i KEPT thinking about how PERFECT Slumdog was.
I just wanna point out that this movie exactly points out the lives of the poor children/orphans living in India it's nothing new for us Indians to see the way they live but the way the directors/producers have put it in such a way that it captures the mind of the audience. So congratulations to slumdog for the 8 Oscars and also congratulations to A.R Rahman for his song that I love:Jai Ho!
True but there is a great socioeconomic disparity among people in India, so the middle and upper class gets offended by portraying this side of India. But this situation has changed a lot now.
I remember watching this in high school, over 12 years ago... It was such a memorable movie. I still go back to watching the clips because it meant a lot to me when i watched it
Slumdog Millionaire is one of the few movies I've seen which really knew how to use the "shaky cam" technique. So many movies end up looking butchered because the director didn't know what he was doing with the shaky camera, but this movie knew not to over do it. The shaky cam was actually an attribute in this movie, it made the movie feel alive.
Slumdog millionaire has so many great cinematography it is so beautiful. This scene is very inspirational as they say that 'life comes down to a few moments', but to have a cross-country train ride for more than 3 days can be more than that of as many simulated lifetimes. Perhaps because of the adrenaline that can break the unconscious of 'fiction'. The will to power and all things industrious shebang can never fill the hunger of the soul I suppose. Thank you for uploading this scene, it reminds us for the humbling experience that only by going through the 'eye of the neddle' can we realize all these wonderful things indeed.
I'm an Indian, born and raised in the US. I frequent India every few years, and experience its true values. This beautiful movie is yet another reminder of how proud I am to be Indian. Being in the US is also great, because I can share the this feeling with all of my good friends!
When Salim died at the end, it made me cry because I knew what he went through as a child. His greed got the best of him, but in the end he loved his brother too much, and sacrificed himself for his happiness 😢
This movie was perfect.... I could even feel the pain, life is really is hard. One of the best movies i've ever watched ! I had the tears in my eyes...
love the shot of them sitting down looking at the scenery with the little puppy. (three dogs in all) lovely touch of direction that went through the whole movie. Deserved all its oscars no question.
fabulous movie - a joy to watch - loved this scene, reminded me of the time I was in India on one of these trains!..and nice to see such a down-to-earth cast and glad it's got the global recognition it has - much deserved :) Looking forward to Danny Boyle's next project!
i totally agree that the little kids are the stars of this movie - they completely made it.. and their acting was the most realistic and accomplished out of all the actors i think.
Saw the film last night at the cinema. Danny is a genius, absolutely captivating movie. The acting throughout on everyone is absolutely brilliant too. 5*
that film that s not about poverty, it s about human misery and that is all over this world. But the astonishing message on this fantastic movie is about surviving, resistence, strenght, warriors at everyday life. It s about believing and faith among "reality"denial . And it is told over a beautiful story. Amazing.
A tribute to the mentality of the Indian people. You either have to come from India or have travelled there a lot to be able to appreciate the beauty of the film. Just saw the film and i want to go back to India again. Love India
I’ve worked in third world countries and seen the poverty first hand it’s humbling I believe Indians are the most hard working most humble humans I’ve came across
This is definitely a 80s-90s India ... I truly think this film belongs to the child actors in the movie ... a lot more than the grown up actors we see towards the end ... the kids are the ones ur heart goes out to...
lol are you kidding? ive been to india a couple times as a tourist and when we travelled on the nonfirst-class (non-tourist) train routes, this was ALL OVER THE PLACE. Little kids parading through the cars looking to sell their wares, foodstuff, chai, etc. And tons of people would huddle up on top of the trains and chill out, including many kids. This movie is incredibly authentic and real, from my experience.
the first time i watched this movie i thought it overrated too, but now when i think back on it it actually does qualify as one of the best ever made; the shots and especially storyline are very good for todays standards. Todays movies aren't getting much better, you know.
Just because a foreign guy directed it? This movie was a maserpeice in every way. It has an incredible story, great cinematogrophy, music, etc. It deserves every bit of praise it recieves.
an incredible scene from an increible film and it fits so well with the song, well done danny boyle on winning best director, you deserve it, i hope i get to meet you again to congratulate you personally.
This was my favorite movie as a child. I can’t find any scenes of the teens either. I had a crush on the guy that played the eldest teen. But anyways this Movie reminds me to be blessed for what I have every time I watch it💗 needs more hype
These kids made the movie tbh.
I know Dev Patel was the breakout star, but the kids were the ones that got me.
And they didn't even get paid sufficiently!!
@@TheTurtleAwasthi 😭😭😭 poor people always remain poor.😭😭
I remember seeing on news about the kid who played Salim... His house got torn apart and now he's back to being in the slums
But india is not poor as they shown in that movie at least not in today times
