Hi My name is Rodney P, I've purchased a FR Sky Tandem20S from Flying Robot. Big change from JR. I use this to fly mainly Pattern Aerobatics.
How do I set up Aileron (on fully closed) and say, 5% down elevator. Basically to tuck the nose in on downlines.
JR would have Throttle as the Master and Elevator as the Slave, quite a straight forward easy mix.
    Look forward to your response
    Thanks

Not really sure what you are saying with aileron. Sorry, not a pattern pilot. But if you wanted 5% down elevator when throttle was closed. Create a new free mix. Source is throttle. Output would be elevator channel (I assume ch 2). Now you need to play with weight and offset. Try a -5% weight and a 5% offset. You might need to reverse those depending on your elevator settings. Essentially a mix is just source - the controller and output -the channel you want to control. You can add an active condition (a switch to turn on and off the mix if you need to). Does that help?

@@all_rc My Apologies > i didn't even check my request properly. But you assumed correctly,. What I meant was 'Throttle not Aileron.
I managed to get that in freemix. I wrongly used one of the canned mixes ,throttle =elevator.
      Thanks for replying though.
Another request. When flying pattern there are a prescribed number of manouvres. How could i load these manouvres on Tx and have them called out in sequence at the press of a designated button.

Yeah, I've never really used the canned mixes and just use free mixes and I've always been able to do what I wanted. I personally don't use much sound files but I do understand it pretty well. To play sounds, go to SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Create a new special function. Action is play audio. State - enable. Active condition - a switch to activate it. Create a sequence. First sequence - play file and choose the first sound. Second sequence - wait condition and choose the switch to move on.. probably the same switch as active condition. Next sequence is your next sound file. And so on. Now you hit a switch. It plays your first sound file. Hit the switch again and it plays your next sound file and so on. If you have custom sound packs. You can load them into the radio. You can create sounds and voices by either recording them or using a text to speech program. Should be a .wav file with a 32,000 hz rate of less, I Believe. But try what you have. I assume you have a bunch of sounds in your JR radio... Maybe try and get those from the radio and transfer them?

Also, Ethos Suite (the PC companion app) has a audio manager that can transcode the sound files to the proper settings for you.

Hi Rodney - I've got the same issues as you, as I am coming from JR and Graupner MC24 transmitters where doing things such as this are really, really simple (I mainly fly gliders with multiple flight modes). I've found that the best way of getting help is (i) download the latest FrSKY user manual for the version of Ethos your TX is running (things can be really different in Ethos versions before 1.5), (ii) look through all of the available RUclips videos BUT be really careful that they are using the same Ethos version as you are - I nearly lost my mind wondering why my 1.5.9 X18 TX was so very different to what was in some earlier Ethos version videos, (iii) try RCGroups - there are some really helpful guys and gals there. Good luck.
