I eat a carnivore diet and my dog does too and she’s doing great When she goes to the vet, the vets like she’s in good shape she looks good her blood her blood works good you’re doing a good job He asked me what she’s eating and I say what I eat, and we leave the conversation at that
Thank you for sharing! I had a trouble too with royal canin. Not only that it's hard to find, it's also quite expensive. Have you checked out Purina ONE healthy weight? I was considering between pro plan weight management and Purina ONE healthy weight. They both are really similar. Same protein %, low fat %, same fiber and moisture %. My mini schnauzer just started transitioning to that one!The only differences is that Pro Plan has live microorganism in it and higher vitamin A. I hope I made a good choice for my boy!
So sorry for missing your reply. No, I have not looked over that formula before. It sounds like it is an excellent option for mini schnauzers! How is your pup doing with the transition?
@@dukesschnauzers I was going to feed my boy that. But after talking to his vet, she said it's not necessary to give a low fat dog food because not all schnauzers end up getting pancreatitis. She said we can just watch his pancreatic level and diabetes level from annual wellness exam. So I think I'm just gonna do that for now. His annual exam is due in May. Then I'll know more details if he needs a lower fat food or not.
Thank you for the information. Just to be clear, are you suggesting this for adult schnauzers, not puppies? So puppies would be on the puppy food and then switch to the Purina as adults?
Sure thing! Yes this would be for adult schnauzers. If purina is the route you would like to go, puppies would be on the purina puppy formula, and then they would transition to this adult formula. This is a great option for owners who want their schnauzers on a preventative low fat diet, or for those whose dogs did not tolerate/like the Royal Canin mini schnauzer formula.
Thoughts on Hill Science Diet for adult dogs in small bites? My little guy loves it and to prevent itching I add Dinovit
