In this part two of the economic episode, we welcome again Dr. Raghuram Rajan. He is the former governor of the Reserve Bank Of India and an Indian Economist. Between 2003 and 2006 he was Chief Economist and director of research at the International Monetary Fund.
In this episode, we will talk about the 2024 politics and the election season that is coming up. We will break down how religion is one of the major factors in Indian politics and how it dictates the decisions of the majority of citizens. We will also talk about the positive and negative of the current government and why we need a strong opposition.

Gadkari realy made a name for himself.Indias infrastructure is all his smart doing.I do not believe anybody else could have mannaged what he has achieved.A simple man to look but with outstanding brain.
as an NRI coming back..the infra progress was pathetic during congress time...with modi, this happened at impressive pace (compared to snail pace during congress) with more private players being allowed.
It's all good from outside. Inside it's all the same. Both Congress and BJP are same nowadays at least in my state

Gadkari is one of the few sane people in bjp, a politician with no haters a rare breed in Indian politics. Hate towards mr Rajan in comment section proves that when ur intelligent and facts preacher majority will hate u. Glad to see him in Ur podcasts.

Or jyotiraditya Scindia is not sane(airports have doubled), rajeev chandrashekhar is not sane( top most telecom engineers) , i can go on, but this cabinet is mosr competent cabinate ever.

@@varunkhugshal9049 yaa i didn't said only sane person I said one of the sane people, so there are definitely some good ministers in this govt. However it's not like we got such ministers first time we were blessed with some outstanding ministers through history after independence. Bjp has many people who just expert in blaming everything on nehru and previous cong govt and most of the time they are totally irrational, I can't complain though it's their way of politics to divert attention of people from real issues and then bringing illogical topic in any discussion.

He is a respected figure around the world and people listen to him.

Nitin Gadkari is the best guy in BJP and deserves to be PM
Current BJP Govt did reforms 3 or 4 times what Vajpayee did. Ask him to listen to Dr Vaishnav, Railways minister, who talks about delegation in Railways ministry which is not managed by PMO, PMO monitors critical projects which are approved for execution.
We need a strong team of ministers not a very over powering one man show from PMO. Vajpai like PM and team of Equal ministers is the most ideal.
First UPA with Manmohan Singh and set of able ministers. Second UPA Mammohan singh became weak. Rajive Gandhi should have worked as a Minister under Manmohan Singh as learned the profession. But the Gandhi family followers spolied by praising and pushing him up..He started toplling the Manmohan Singh. Democracy and Government has to be managed professionally

His arguments are very very realistic and nobody has answers for those. Who has answers to Malnutrition level similar to Sub-Saharan Africa, who has answers to almost double digit unemployment rate? When people don't have answers, usually they start tagging the people who raise questions as anti-nationals, western agents etc.
@@abhisek-chatterjee The problem with him is that he is starved of media attention that he started getting from 2013 and even now his hunger for media attention isn't vanishing that's why he keeps coming in various media platforms. Its okay he is a good economist but that doesn't means all others in his class are not good. Some are even better.
The present govt got this GDP rate above 7 percent even when economies like Germany, UK and US are under recession through strategies and economic planning of various other good economists when this guy said we are sinking ship, we will not go above 4-5 pc.
Now since no one gives a s**t about him bcz everything he said was proven wrong. He is here to give explanations instead of celebrating the fellow economists and financial planners who helped in maintaining country's growth all while hogging limelight for himself.

Raghuram Rajan' s knowledge about politics sucks. He says Nitin Gadkari was in Transport Minister in Vajpayee Government which is utter rubbish.
Earlier I used to respect him for his knowledge in Economics, but in recent years the way he predicted or wishfully cursed about Indian GDP was so biased like a road side chappari conveying his ideas according to his political inclination. India could have used his knowledge, experience and ideas to take our motherland to the next level but this guy chose to stoop low.

Without financial and budgetary support from the PM and FM, Nitin Gadkari could not have done all these. They collect tax, deal with the political fallout and Nitin has to spend that. Credit to him for just execution. But main credit for PM for getting the funds.
