This was so informative. Happy Travels! I'm also travelling to Japan in December, and this gave me some perspective. Is it possible for you to share the list?
Thank you! Glad you found this video helpful. December is going to be a good time to catch their Christmas illuminations. Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip! And here is my long packing list 😅 Skincare/Shower - All your skincare necessities (get them in travel size if possible) - Travel size shampoo + shower gel + conditioner (optional because most hotels provides these already) - Lip balm / Vaseline (in case of chapped lips) - Comb - Hairdryer (though most hotels already provides this) - Oil blotter (because my skin gets oily) - Roll on perfume - Hair tie - Hair velcro (I use this as an alternative to hair bands when washing my face) - Hair roller (for my bangs) - Hair powder (my holy grail for my oily hair and face combo) - Toothbrush and toothpaste (most hotels do provide this but I prefer using my own) Electronics - Universal plug and charger - USB cables for charging - Power bank - Earphones - Camera + gears Clothes (aside from your everyday wear) - Heat techs - Thicker jacket (I would recommend the Uniqlo ultra light down jacket for colder weather as it can be easily rolled up and stored in a pouch so that it doesn't take up much storage space) - Hat (optional but I brought mine since I planned to go hiking) - Compression socks (to help with my leg fatigue at the end of the day but totally optional) - Towel (I brought a quick drying towel but I ended up using it as a picnic mat at the park 😂 if you are comfortable using the ones in the hotel, I would recommend skipping this) Medication - Paracetamol - Poh Chai pills (chinese pills for diarrhea) - Band-aids - Multivitamins (optional) - Heat patches (or you could just purchase them in Japan cause they have plenty of variety) Others - PASSPORT!! (most important stuff) - International driving license (optional only if you are planning to drive around Japan) - Coin pouch (you will get a lot of coin change so I would recommend storing all in a coin pouch) - Pen (for just in case if you need to fill up any forms) - Swiss card (optional just in case if I need to cut anything but make sure its in your checked baggage not your hand carry) - Face mask (optional) - Sunglasses (optional) - Tissue - Neck and back pillow (optional) - Foldable tote bag (for your extra purchases because most stores charges for plastic bags) - Foldable duffel bag (as an extra plane hand carry) - Hand sanitizer (optional) - Plastic bag (a MUST as trash bins in Japan is very scarce so bring a plastic bag around to temporarily dispose your waste) - Laundry bag (optional but I use it to temporarily segregate my dirty clothing with my clean clothing) - Vacuum plastic bag (optional but I use it to compress all my clothing before flying home for extra luggage space) - Pasmo card (if you already have an existing one otherwise you could just obtain it at the airport or if you are using iPhone, you can download their app and top up from there) - Slippers (optional) - Pre-download some entertainment on your electronic device to watch on your flight
Very informative and to the point video.. exactly what I was looking for .. :) thank you!! I am flying to Japan in Jan and will use this as a guide for packing.. Will you please share where did you get the back rest pillow? it looks small and compact . thank you again :)
Believe it or not, I still had space for all my shopping haul! The vacuum compression plastics actually work wonders for me to compress all my clothes flat before I fly back home so it gives me more luggage space after eventhough right now it looks packed to the brim but given a choice to repack all over again, I would have definitely packed less clothing cause I ended up repeating my outfits 😂

What suitcase are you using? It looks like a hard shell but with top opening and not the usual clamshell type. Thanks!
