Love the channel, got the same car so it's been a treat watching, done so much work to the ute, saved money and learnt how to love my machine and care for it
Having been inspired by your excellent video, i went out and checked my drive shaft ( 08 spacecab, identical to yours) and preceded to go out and buy three new uni joints and a centre bearing. All replaced and running well. Thanks for the great video again and keep them coming.
What a bit of luck that you made this video just in time for me to have the exact same problem in my ranger. Really impressed with production quality and clarity of the instructions mate. Cheers from Far North QLD
That is one of the best instructional videos of this type that I've ever seen, and I'm so glad I found it because I need to embark on exactly this on my PK which I've just discovered has as floppy a connection as yours did. Great work you guys, I now feel equipped to tackle this job myself!
@@explorebound Thanks mate. I just got it back together tonight but it is making a terrible noise when I try to drive it. From what I can work out it seems to be that the centre bearing is tapping on the chassis as it spins around, and I can't figure out why. I guess with new uni joints in the shaft in its entirety is a tiny bit longer and hence pushing it high enough so that it hits, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to remedy. Do you happen to have any ideas?
actually don't worry - I finally worked it out. Just had the centre bearing part upside down. It naturally falls that way so just had to loosen it and flip it over. Doh!
Thank god i came across to your Chanel i would of never been able to figure out the same problem i have on my 07 ranger. The screeching has only recently just started to happen cheers to the both of use keen to see more of diy
Very helpful and easy to comprehend video mate, well done! I've watched a few uni joint vids because. About to replace mine myself, and this one has to be the pick of them😁 thanks, wish me luck lol
Why couldn't the links cover up your mug at the end and not Bianca's 😅, as always great video guys. Such a under rated channel. P.s useing a centre punch is a good idea to mark parts, little bit harder to wash off 😉
Haha it was a strategy to entice people to click the links to stop seeing my face! 😂 Great suggestion regarding the punch for markings, will definitely be doing that in future
What manual do you have downloaded. I have a 2009 3.0ltr ranger supercab and for life of me cannot locate a manual for these. Haynes only seem to have petrol engines for PJ/K. Any assistance greatly appreciated 👍🤠
I bet you wont forget to grease them again haha. Ive listed down every grease nipple on my 4wd in a check list and they all get a good pump after a big trip or every 12 months.
hi Do all uni joints and have centre bearing replaced . The centre bearing needs a spacer under the retaining nut as these were made badly [not enough threads ] . Causes outer balance issues. Hardy spicer no all about this .
Dobinsons springs and Koni shocks, here's a full runthrough of the suspension setup if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/X0f8BmogmGw/видео.html Regarding weight, the canopy is just over 400kg.
Do you service your own car or get it serviced somewhere cause those joints don't look like they've had grease in years ahaha. Also you only need to make sure the front and back half of the driveshaft are the same as they're usually balanced, but great video mate!!
Thanks mate! Regarding servicing, a bit of both, I do the minor ones myself but take it in now and then for the more major work - definitely my own fault for not greasing them up or atleast checking with the mechanics when they did the larger servicing haha.
Just saying always good practise however slightly wrong your hand break will still hold your rear wheels while they are on the ground and slightly uneeded to chock the wheels
Tutorials like this really make you confident to do it. Its scary to do something you've never tried, until you see it done.!!

That’s awesome mate! Glad the the video was helpful and the install went well 🙂
How hard was it to do the centre bearing?

Glad you found the video Louis, good luck with the install! 🙂🔧
Your presentation, knowledge, humbleness and editing is excellent mate.
Thanks mate really appreciate that 🙂
How have I not found this channel yet? Owner of an 08 BT50, so pretty well everything you do is transferable to my vehicle. Cheers mate.
Glad you found the channel! 🙂
I said the same thing to myself
(Couldn't believe it)

I gave you a sub after watching lots of your Vids ...good work sunshine

Hey mate you wouldn't have the part numbers for the unijoints by chance? Few places I rang haven't got listing's for the centre one ? Cheers
Great job mate you saved yourself quit a few hundred dollars ( and by the looks of it Bianca could have done the job complete on her own 😉😂 )
Thanks mate, and too right about Bianca, she’s pretty handy on the tools haha

awsome job mate…
Have you change thermostat for cooling system Ford Ranger 2007 ?
Hey man I have a question I changed the center uni join and re installed but now it rubs on the centre hoop do you have any tips to help stop it
What brand uni's did you use and were did you get them.
Gday mate, the unis are they all the same or different?
Hey mate,
What's the part number of the unis you purchased cheers
What work shop manual? Did you use
What manual do you have downloaded. I have a 2009 3.0ltr ranger supercab and for life of me cannot locate a manual for these. Haynes only seem to have petrol engines for PJ/K. Any assistance greatly appreciated 👍🤠
Hi,can I know the size of rear ford ranger pj u joint?
Hey mate awesome video. Where did you get your workshop manual from. I've got a 2007 bt50 trying to track down a workshop manual for mine.
Thanks mate! Regarding the manual, send me a message on Instagram 🙂
I'm not criticising, but how do you feel about mixing the two different brands of grease? Good video.👍
I bet you wont forget to grease them again haha.
Ive listed down every grease nipple on my 4wd in a check list and they all get a good pump after a big trip or every 12 months.
Absolutely not, that rear joint was bone dry haha! I'll have to pop together a list for myself I reckon, I'm all for preventative maintenance!
hi Do all uni joints and have centre bearing replaced . The centre bearing needs a spacer under the retaining nut as these were made badly [not enough threads ] . Causes outer balance issues. Hardy spicer no all about this .
I wish I would have know this sooner
What springs are you running and how much weight is in the back
Dobinsons springs and Koni shocks, here's a full runthrough of the suspension setup if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/X0f8BmogmGw/видео.html Regarding weight, the canopy is just over 400kg.
Is that Press just a heavy duty G clamp?
And are all 3 Uni joints the same?
We’re did you get your pressing tool?
I got it from Supercheap auto 🙂
Do you service your own car or get it serviced somewhere cause those joints don't look like they've had grease in years ahaha.

Mine didn't have the grease nipples.
I finally found some after market one with a grease nipple.
Next time use a scribe tool to make the marks
I feel like I should check mine now 😂😂
Yep! Easy to check 🙂
Me too... Great episode and nice to follow. A tip is to also save the manual on your phone as a quick reference at the car 👍
That's a great idea Luke, especially for when something goes wrong out bush!
You should. It saves heaps of trouble
Just saying always good practise however slightly wrong your hand break will still hold your rear wheels while they are on the ground and slightly uneeded to chock the wheels
Were all the 3 unis the same size ect or different?????
All rears are the same size 👍
Ahhhh. Mines worse then that
