These needle like knives are much scarier to me than most of the knives that are intimidating by design. I'm pretty sure I'd stab myself with this thing.
They are very easy to control the point. This would be great for crafts, and EDC as an excellent utility blade. Not good for combat, the blade will snap off in a fight. This blade should be very easy to control all around and knife might be a great all around carving knife.

Been waiting on this one. I hope they make a wide version in the future for slightly heavier use. But this just seems like such a great little light precision edc blade. I do 100% agree with having internal stop pins, I haven't looked inside one yet, but I think there should be space for it. Keep up the great work Jerad & Kara
Reminds me a bit of the bencmade spike... Carried it for years and picked lots of knots out of my fireline fishing line ... Still got it but hate to use it cause its been around forever.. Gotta get me one of these... Thanks for all of the great videos!

Reminiscent of a long carving blade. Would like to see a model where they flip flopped that handle so the bulk is up front for more control and make it taper to the rear.
I like this one too. Reminds me of another knife by Ostap - Ivy. Ivy is just more fancy and more expensive.
Yeah, I bought this one when it became available and it's been in my pocket ever since, replaced my Civivi Bo as my secondary blade, gotta say it's used daily, holds an edge and the black blade coat has held up great. Fantastic design even if it's a front flipper. Good video Jerad.

When i consider all things, civivi is probably my favorite knife company. Obviously their are higher quality knives, but when you add price into the picture they're my favorite.

Check out the Cold Steel Frenzy. It’s shaped just like that but with a 5.5” blade. Cold Steel made it several years ago and it has the super strong triad lock.

I need one of these I'm an artist and I use Precision Tools all the time is something like this would be amazing and would be used everyday from opening boxes to sharpening pencils to cutting out canvas everything I use a razor for

I think I will buy this one. That slender knife tip looks like it will come in handy for precision tasks ans I need a little purple in my collection ever since they discontinued the WE Deacon... I am still annoyed about that. Does it come in satin blades or just the black wash version?
I can kind of see the comparison to the CRKT CEO since it's a similar size and shape but also want to point out that it doesn't do the one thing the CEO was designed for: looking like a pen and fitting into the pen loop of the breast pocket on an office shirt . The pocket clip choice on the Clavi makes it a better knife in a pants pocket but makes it stick out like a sore thumb when you put it into the pen loop of your office shirt, if it can even fit. The only knife I know of that can compete with the CEO as an office pocket knife is the CRKT Stylus. But it's difficult to design a folder that fits those dimensions. But how cool would it be if Winter Blade co. used his mad science to make a magnetic pen sized knife? I think that would be a hit if he could get that design to work.

Most useful? I love Civivi knives, but I would say this thing is poorly designed for a Wharncliffe. Actually the design defeats the purpose of having a Wharncliffe blade, which were originally designed to maximize downward pressure while cutting. They should've widened the blade a bit and even added a fuller to add some blade strength.
He probably has 10 different wharncliffe style blades and each can have a different task , this particular knife is a light duty precision slicer as he explained in the video
@@Antimatter. Would make more sense just to use a paring knife if you want to do precision slicing. You'll have a sharp blade with this, but you're not going to have a powerful blade, which is where Wharncliffes excel.
@@joelb1299 mate wharncliffe knives were originally designed for skinning animals, nothing about heavy downward pressure.

@@joelb1299 They were designed by the earl of Wharncliffe and his gamekeeper, not for woodworking but for field dressing animals. They are good whittling knives though.

Some say it’s good luck when your knife knife cuts you on your first opening. I tried to slow roll open left handed first and it poked me in the center of the palm and drew blood I then tried it with my right hand and the same thing happened! This knife gave me stigmata at first opening. I wonder if that’s considered to be good luck or bad luck?
