i take my hat off to him for speaking about religious- racial cohesiveness. That is very important. Thank you for stressing on that. Something mr lee kuan yew knew was a very crucial step to our success. If you dont have that , nothing is possible. Look at what is happening in other countries.

Not to deny that the Singaporean government has improved Singapore a lot of the last 50 years, but the survivalist discourse is too much. Singapore was kicked out of Malaysia, it never had to fight for independence. The city-state's location is strategic with trade routes passing by and an ideal harbor. There are no natural catastrophes and control over a tiny city is much easier. Moreover, as a key ally of the US in the Cold War and now against China, it plays an essential role in global power politics. The fact that Singapore has no natural resources, moreover, actually was beneficial as it made the country focus on trade and industrialization. The move from the most precious crown colony in the British empire to a successful independent state was hardly a miracle. The greatest achievement was by far the successful housing program which reduced tensions and created a common society. While the massive immigration will not undermine Singapore's success (it is after all in a very lucky position), it does threaten the achievements of the past 50 years as made evident during the Little India riot.

I am PROUD to be a Singaporean, and PROUD of such a wonderful benevolent leader and government. Thank you, Mr Lee Senior and ALSO Mr Lee Hsien Long. If the older Mr Lee was the Lion of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Long is the Dragon of Singapore. I hope that Singaporeans are not so stupid to vote for some other party! PAP forever! Majulah Singapura!

I have been to many countries, like Singapore's most impressive on Singapore's living environment and national policies house, very envious of the people of Singapore. Taiwan is also a low fertility rate, low birth rate, aging population, high prices no country can house prefabs to live, to find a place to live their own way to find the cheapest rent. find a place to live is also not afford to rent a house or find underpass had to sleep roadside, park or temple for one night in Taiwan living high prices, outsiders more (foreigners come to Taiwan Baochibaozhu immigrants or workers), Taiwan great university graduation = unemployment gap between rich and poor, Taiwan high unemployment, low wages, high cost of living, young life stress do not see their own future, can not see the future of Taiwan! Taiwan people unable to retain fled abroad to find ways to earn high salaries. Taiwan, there are many political and business people to stay in Taiwan fled abroad debt is a lot of high educated young there are more and more homeless trend, because they can not afford to rent a house working unemployment, can not afford a house had to live on the streets. this is the current status of Taiwan.
