I don't believe that, as WWE is always looking to expand its global reach. Sanga and Veer could have been absolute beasts, and I hope they continue wrestling somewhere. LA Knight v Cody at WM 41 face v face is something I would love to see. There have been a couple of face v face title matches at Wrestlemanias before so why not? And for the love of...it would FINALLY mean all the lesser PPVs aren't as painfully predictable anymore like they're just filler.
If you want to do a shorter reign with Cody and have him regain the Championship later, I think you go to a transitional heel like AJ and then give Cena his 17th somehow. Cena vs. Cody is perfect for a Saudi show to pull in a big payday and return the belt to Cody.

Honestly, I just don't want a really long run. After Roman's reign, I'm ready for some stuff lasting 6 months or so.
At least Cody have title for 4 -6 month s before he loses it as other side WWE would be insane,

Cody could lose and then win it back against Gunther, to then fight against the Rock in Wrestlemania.
I'd want to see Roman vs Rollins (they don't need a title for that feud) and Punk vs Drew for the WHC in next Wrestlemania.
But after Mania 41 either of Seth or Punk could challenge Cody for the title if he still has it at that point.

1.) THE BUILD TO THE MATCH:
Throughout the weeks have the bloodline attack every ally of Cody Rhodes, have the rock be a SMART, heel by learning from Wrestlemania 40 that Cody has allies, have Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu, take out Sami, KO, Randy, Jey & Jimmy (if there back as the USOS, by then.)
The Cody enters last as the champion and before the bell rings Tama Tonga, Solo, and Jacob Fatu, attack Cody. Have them put him through BOTH announce tables, and the barricade!! Then roll his ass in the ring Jacob Fatu hits him with a moonsault( his finisher) The Rock screams at solo to pick him up and they hit him with a rock bottom spike combo! Cody is OUT! The rock says “ring the bell” 🔔 he puts his foot on Cody’s chest, pins him and wins the championship IMAGINE THE HEAT HE WOULD GET !!!

Honestly I’m worried that Cody is already losing steam as champ. He will need a viable heel to challenge him as he beat the top heals challenge already. Gonna be hard to find the next best thing. Gunther is choice one to face him but to take the title I don’t think so. Gunther would be a great early challenger for it.
He isn't losing any steam. If Roman was champ right now, we wouldn't even see the title. People need to stop thinking not being on the show makes you cool.

@@RoxRevanharte I don't mind Gunther as an opponent. It's Roman's long reign that created the vacuum, not Cody winning. They'd have the same situation if Roman had won, except there wouldn't even be a worthy Gunther, because they wouldn't do heel v heel, and shouldn't turn Gunther face yet. I think AJ is a good first contender. Especially if they were to have Finn involved somehow because of the Bullet Club connection the 3 of them have.

Cody should hold it for atleast a year after ending Romans title reign an wen he does lose it whatever title reigns are after that needs to atleast be 5 or 6 months with no reign being less than 4 months. Hot potato isnt fun either
