The Corvette just proves that when American automobile companies want to, they can make quality products at affordable prices. I wonder how much these will go fo in 5-10 years. And I like the guy doing the review. He’s like a kid with a new toy, which is EXACTLY how a Vette makes a guy feel.
I bought the base lt1 in red w black interior and red seats. 59995+ttl. What a blast. I have a 74 454, which is fun, but the c8 grows on you, better every day. Im 6' and that was the test. Lots of room. I got in the sample car in January and got out and ordered it. Bonus! It get 32mpg on hiway and 27 in town if you keep your foot out of it. Get one!!! Doug.
Just wanted to let you know my 2021 C8 HTC arrived this week. Despite it being horribly cold in our prairie Canadian winter right now, I'm excited as hell. Feel like a kid again. Gorgeous car. Looking forward to meeting you one day when we return to Nashville. Thanks for the great videos.
I love that it is a hardtop convertible, plus the looks both up and down. I am happy that it has built-in rollover protection. I had to add a rollbar to my last Corvette convertible so I could track it. I am in the order queue for a Z06 convertible.
You did a great job on this video. You didn't repeat yourself so the narrative moved on at a good pace. I was never bored. I would definitely order a C8 the way your feature car is equipped. There are a number of advantages to the convertible and only one downside. I'm on my second corvette the first one a 2005 stingray coupe. My current one is a 2019 Grand Sport coupe. I can handle the in and out of the targa roof but I would enjoy the ease of this convertible. The real advantage is you don't lose the rear storage when the tops down and that would be a real advantage on a trip. I wouldn't want to be forced to drive with the roof on because of space needed for luggage. The only downside is you can't see the engine. The engine looks so cool nestled behind the driver and that can be enhanced with options and after market embellishments.
I Loved that whole experience with you, great job on the energy sharing too!!!!!! A feeling I hope to have someday!!!!! You have great taste in color selection too!!!!! Thank You 🤗❤️Enjoy & Stay Safe!!!!!
You made mention of side rear view being partially blocked by the nacelle on your shoulder. I'm a turn my head type and wonder why the current motor industry hasn't designed more side rear quarter view solutions for all vehicles. Wonderful video. Wish I had a few.
After watching your video. I took out my 2018 C7. Being 6'5.5, I felt like I was seating to high. Instead of having seat all the way back on both and having look just under the visor, I pulled seat forward and leaned back of seat back further and I was looking much lower on windshield. Draw back, had to put my left foot behind brake due to knee hitting dash! Hopefully, when I get the C8 convertible, I wont have to look so high and knee wont be an issue on dead step with the dash!!!
I usually prefer coupes over convertibles. But I think the C8 convertible looks even better than the coupe. However, I think I will still go for the coupe, because of the engine being visible and the top is also removeable, for an open top experience.
Wow, so happy to hear that Bart! I try my best to capture the essence and experience of driving these vehicles. If you end up ordering one, let me know!
@@Drive615 How was the engine temps? have you heard of any over heating issues? I track my cars and dont want the overheating issues like the C7 Z06 auto.
I didn’t keep track of them to be honest. I was only doing street driving with this convertible too. I did track a C8 coupe from NCMMP a few months back and had no issues. We did about 7 laps in it.
Your car is exactly how I would spec one. When I graduated from college , I bought a 1981 burgandy one with the buckskin interior and glass t tops. I now dtine 2004 yellow convertible. Maybe I'll buy yours in a couple of years😎
Thank you for the review. You hit a lot of good points. I am in the Boro and got my fingers crossed with an estimated date of delivery March 2021. 2LT Elkhart Lake Blue.
Finally found a car reviewer my height (6’5”), subscribed! BTW I’m sure you already know this, but... the VW GTI has phenomenal head room. I have about 4” headroom in the driver’s seat of a GTI, and can even ride in the rear seat with plenty of headroom (thanks to the car’s boxy shape) and enough knee room.
Thank you to Chevrolet for allowing me the opportunity to review this amazing 2020 C8 Corvette Convertible. Here is a comparison to the C7 Z06 too: ruclips.net/video/sHnLcEQ080U/видео.html
Just saw a black over black C8 in town today with black wheels. Meh. Then I see this thing. The colors POP, and the look with the top down is incredible.
The bottom of the stack in the middle has all the seat and zone HACV controls for the passenger. The good news is the C8 HTC doesn't have any place for a back seat driver.
That is due to demand. The dealer like any other business of any kind , are there to make money not friends. If the demand warrants it, they can boost the price, just like Apple I phones, Gucci and Tommy Finger clothing, or a Rolex watch.
My brother got one with 1100 miles on it for 84.5 K. He found it on Flea bay. has red calipers Z-51 and elkart lake blue. I like the candy apple red myself.I think that Z-51 gives the tuned pipes & 495 hp.He said I can drive it,I'm old&decrepit😑 He sold a C-7, It had over 100k on it...It was still fast.
That’s the same as my spec except I am going with the black triton wheels. I watched the video of you with him and thought the same about the wing. Thank you for the input
1955 C-1 "on" through C-3 had hardtops for their convertibles. The rest C-4,5,6,7 had targa tops for their hard tops and just softtops for the convertibles. This is surely a new era and fun too.
Fabulous looking car and well done and informative video. I am also curious to know what neighborhood in Georgia were you driving through with all of those beautiful and luxurious homes?
Wish they duplicated that grille in the back to the front to protect those two front radiators. There is an aftermarket grille insert that addresses this design flaw in the C8.
Great question Joe. I tested this out and here are my results. With the top down and both side windows down and the back glass all the way down, you don't really get much buffetting, just general wind noise. With the top down, side windows up and back glass up, you get a little more noise and what sounded like a small bit of buffetting. The ideal driving scenario for me was: Top down, side windows up, and back glass down. Hope this helps!
As with most American and German vehicles, I recommend setting aside $10,000 or more for inevitable repairs after the warranty expires. With the Lexus LC500 and LC500h, this is most likely not necessary.
Hi drive 615. I heard at the last of the video that your spec would be a torch red with black triton and wheels convertible. After you’ve seen the red tint mist in person would you still stick with the torch red or would you do the red tint? I’m really struggling and I would value your opinion. Thank you!

in one of my shots I could see how the shadows from the ventilation openings made it look a little darker. I guess it comes down to a personal preference at that point.
Still in love with my C7 Zo6 definitely the best value and not to mention destroying most exotics on the streets. Plus, I can do my own oil change for less than $ 105. My Porsche 911 cost much more to maintain.
