    I'm glad you're doing these longer videos.

    Nice job guys! While I most likely would not build this project, the bevel gauge usage shown was invaluable. I never once considered using that tool to transfer angles to a table saw. I have always measured out my angles. It's so obvious yet I didn't think of it.

      Yeah, I find even in the projects I don’t really care for I can still find a tip or technique I can apply someplace else.

    As I'm not a nail and screw kind of person I really like this I may go with something similar on some live edge benches I have on the plate after my house is finished. Sweet bench.

    Great video and project. Instead of using the dowel centre pins and then having to get the angle of the hole in the leg correct. Would it be possible to use the stretcher as a guide and just drill through the holes in it?

      @xtremewood 4 года назад +2

      Mark Whyte yes and drill the holes BEFORE cutting the long side angle.

      Absolutely, that should work too.

    The connection of the bench seat to the legs with 'long' screws is flimsy and won't hold up to use. You should have used a steel connector. Simpson has the outdoor accent line which has lots of different 90 degree angle ties.

      Yes, we built our bench out of white oak. It does pretty well in the elements outdoors.

      I would have liked to see this as well. Maybe they could do another video showing that as an option.

      I know it feels like cheating, right? We try to cater to woodworkers of all different skill levels and abilities, so we like to show lots of different methods to accomplish the same end result. We’ll do the “real thing” next time. 👍
