(There are some more shortcuts but in 2009 i was discovered only these).
Hot Air Skyway shortcut is possible without cheats, you just need to keep the USF speed from the first jump to the 2nd (final jump) and jump exactly in the end of that turbo pad to reach the shortcut!
Tiny Arena has extremely difficult shortcuts to do it without USF or super turbo boost + mask power...

A lot of these would be pretty difficult to do without Penta Penguin or with constant boosts - the terrian when going through a lot of those actually slows you down.
On another note, has anyone else noticed the MASSIVE jump you can do on the edge of the pipes about 2/3 through Sewer Speedway? Just before the second rolling barrel, while on the big boost jump you go to the right and on the sewer wall. As the pipe turns with the corner, on the connecting joint part of the pipe, hit jump and you'll go flying up. If you get good at it, you can make yourself do it off the opposite spot on the next corner as well. Fantastic little bit! :)
I done this by accident, I almost froze mid air against the side then went flying forward at ridiculous speed. It's safe to say Oxide got left!
Since I found this out I use this everytime I drive this road. This jump does so much fun :3
It's my favourite track, too.
I fly round that tunnel bit completely defy physics of a car it's brilliant

I played my brother the other day he shot a rocket at me on the skyway map and I fell down a track and ended up in first he got so mad lol

He missed one shortcut in Polar Pass, but this shortcut is very hard.

The long way around on the Sewer Speedway shortcut is a good way to hide from the giant electric orb. Just camp in the tunnel with the boost pads until it goes past and continue on as normal.
+blobbem actually the orb takes the long way on the shortcut, so if you camp between the start of the shortcut and the end of it it will go around you
they thought it's easy.... it's hard!!!

You can do it without cheat, use the turbo pad before it + tons of reserves,it’s just harder

@@giuseppeleone9729 to go in more depth, if you build up enough reserves, and you go on the usf pad leading into a jump but don’t jump, you will have enough reserved boost to get to that spot with usf, and you will barely make the jump

Also a shortcut has been done on tiny arena, btu only using super pads too. Im sure you can find that too =D

That last shortcut at Hot Air Skyway doesn't need any cheats. You just need to have maximum boosts for that jump. Pretty easy to do with N. Trophy
Funny memory, I think this is the only video game my mum has ever played and she just couldn't do it but actually found that second shortcut in blizzard bluff that me and my older brother had never found 😂

Most of these SC are impossible with normal characters, for instance Papu pyr's SC is penta penguin exclusive. Go ahead and try it.

u just dont have that much exp and knowledge like some of us veterans do
Hold L1 + R1 while writing code: Triangle, Right, Right, Circle, Left. Works for me :)
Also in polar pass you can jump over the wall to skip all the speed boosts , very diffucult :/ Did it 3 times ....
in polar pass there's 4 not 2 also crash cove have 2 shortcuts not only 1
Most of these don't work without a constant turbo.
Also, 2:36 doesn't seem to work on the NTSC version.
Its easier in ntsc, lol, you have to get the earlier checkpoint to make it count

So you know, in NTSC, penta has max all stats. But in PAL, he has the same stats as polar.

There has been found one shortcut in Tiny Arena. Pretty hard to pull it off though.

actually 2 in hot air skyway , .... and yes i still play ctr to this day 😆
actually there is two shortcuts in crash cove when you drive over the bridge you will see a ship in front of you if you drive on it and turnleft and jump that is a shortcut it allways works for me
I consider myself good at Ctr but this was just good, you must've had many tries and attempts tho

R1 drift and then L1
You drift with R1 or L1 and then when your bar at the bottom right reaches red press the oposite trigger (R1 or L1) to get a boost when you learn that try to do that 3 times in a row .
And im only 11 years old and i almost did the papu pyramid world record mine is 1.14.84

most of these "shortcuts" involve going off-track onto slower surfaces which end up slowing you anyway

the first one in hot air skyway never knew about it.
There were some that were bullshit like the last 2, that's not a shortcut in my opinion, i'ts just using all tracks widht(including terrain problems).
But there are others that I didn't knew and are reall shortcuts like that one about the end when you passed between a wheel and a wall, I never imagined you could do that.

The character is Penta Penguin. He's only accessible through a cheat.
Zach Lawless You must beat all of N.Oxide's ghosts to get him. He was supposed to be Oxide, that's why in the pal version he has Oxide's maxed characteristics (speed, accel etc.), they hadn't got time to change them.
Do you also have to get all trophies and CTR tokens?
