At first I was like "we've already seen this, this is 3 year old footage" then I realized the point of the video, the concept art, compiling all the footage, showing the actual scale and hugeness of terra. I'm impressed by the ambition and can't wait to experience how huge it is. Thank you for making this video.
quick question, was like everything from 3 years ago? im just wondering as i remember that ive seen the footage of the first terra reveal but there are actually several shots of places that i dont remember to have seen because if that is all from 3 years ago im kinda hyped to see what they have now
Not all of it, but the first bits were. You can pretty much date when the content was released based on the level of detail. Most of the footage is a few years old or compiled by fans like teller from the game files. By combining years of footage, files and concept art you paint an awesome picture of the scope planned for terra.
This stuff spans from 2013 to March 2015. None of the footage was compiled by Teller, just the map because it's so useful for scale, but like I say he does have an awesome video of Terra Tower you should check out. Spoiler: It's huge. I should confirm there ARE major gaps in what we know about locations - judging by the fact that we've briefly seen Hurston in-engine twice (yeah really) but never seen any art for it. Meanwhile Crusader's Orison landing area has only been seen in art, yet that is aparrently going to be in 2.7, whereas Hurston's Lorville won't be.
The wide pan shot is from an AtV Sneak Peek, walking on the roof is from 10FtC, the atrium art is from Nicholas Ferrand's Artstation page, and the in-engine atrium shot is from an article on the website (monthly report I think)
and when will the public ever be able to access any of these planets, on foot or not? I remember for the past 3 years the devs saying the same thing "planetary landing/ access coming soon" year after year no work has been made towards that, with fps still being at an all time low (of course alpha is not for optimization but surely they dont want their game in such a state that even a titan X has trouble keeping it at 25 fps on all highs). This game needs to stop pandering to the masses and just focus on the open world full loot pvp world that it was originally supposed to be . I cou;ldnt give a shit about the flight simulator or the arena or FPS module. Make what matters, theres no way anyones going to play SC for arena game modes when they have whole games made for that specific genre. Get the persistent universe complete and go from there please.
Yeah, it'll be a cold day in hell when that happens. Do you even realize how labor-intensive GTA V was to make? They had a dev team of more than a _thousand_, and it still took them 4 years to make it. Cloud Imperium has like 350 employees. Given the amount of time this game is going to take to make, and the fact that the feature creep is accelerating to light speed, there's no way in hell they're going to produce even a minuscule fraction of the things they've been promising.
We are all part of something big. We are playing alpha for years and its getting better and better. We experience the growth together. Star citizen is finally getting rolling. Its a game i have tought it would be somewhere of my dreams.
Terra is a sleeping giant. One day she'll wake and change the universe forever. Until that day, we only got these glimpses of the work made in the past
@@steveredstone1711 He's right. I remember an ancient Around the verse episode ago back when (10 for the chairman was also a thing) Tony Zurovec said that they'd aim for terra prime to make it fully explorable on ground / street level as terra prime is the hero city of the universe / the human capital. They've probably got a lot of work already done for terra and i believe they are still working on the city (directly or indirectly). But I suspect we won't be seeing any of it for at least another 2 years. River/spline tech just came out a month ago and it isn't even final. Colonial outposts are almost here. volumetric clouds only recently came online and they still need to port stuff to gen12 renderer & improve optimizations. Underwater worlds haven't been touched yet. Since terra will be very close to earth in terms of biome diversity they will need technologies like those mentioned above to reach a mature level before starting serious work on the planet.
That can only be acomplished with a loot of work, illusion, huge determination and 120M$ of crowd funding at the moment :P. BTW it may be an 'indie' company but they have a huge amount of experience. Don't you know the name Chris Roberts? Wing Comander, Freelancer, Starlancer. Not to mention Times of Lore wich I consider the elder brother of ultima series.
GTA 5 comes to mind for some reason. Maybee you could play mission right there within the city? It would be kind of cool if your characters started of without ship and money and needed to play missions on Terra for a couple of days or longer before being able be buy a ship and leave the planet.
you cna do missons without ships like be a crew memper of a multi crew ship be in the rapier indstry and a lot more that i forgot :D also i dont thing you are going to start off without a ship but who knows
Interstellar travel? That's hundreds of years away. Manned mission to another astral body? Done that. You really should've specified manned mission to mars.
there is more to terra than i thought, my expectations was going to be a larger version of what we have with area 18 in arccorp. how the heck are they going to do all of that to the high quality level they are planning and make the 100 other systems fleshed out too?
It's all part of the pipeline process. Did you notice that many Port Olisar assets are recycled for Kareah and Covalex? That's good level design, when you can reuse assets in a way that doesn't look repetitive. And they're only going to get better at it.
Shots like 2:48 and 6:18 really make me wish we got 2 games. One with closed levels and loading screens, no procedural planets or manual flying through atmosphere, but areas like Terra in-game and not decades in the future Have to give all that up for the crazy project SC has turned into, but old SC had a certain charm enough I wish it was its own game 10 years ago. The visuals alone have evolved 10x, not to mention detail and fidelity, but it definitely lost its charm
It's just promo to generate hype and money. They want to keep heir pockets full for as long as possible with minimal efforts. If in the end it's going to be a complete game or not, only the cash flow decides that.
yeah i have to agree. even though i wanna play it real bad, i would rather wait a couple of years and hopefully get something awsome that i can play for years
Terra looks like a flashy futuristic city. I hope Earth will be this industrial Blade Runner esque world with lots of former glory shining through but still in a state of decay. Earth is the world covered in a massive city, with generation upon generation building up. A kind of Coruscant.
Even though it's still a little barebones, I agree with +MidWesti. It's tons of fun already, and you can already *feel* that whole experience. To think about what 3.0 will add in terms of improved underlying systems will polish that experience even further. Can't wait. As for not being like NMS, I'll say this: NMS created a great algorithm to procedurally create planets. When it was announced it was amazing, and rightly so. But the asset and color palette the algorithm was able to choose from was extremely limited. SC however is going a different route. They created tools on top of Procedural Generation, to create planets quickly, but have the possibility of hand-crafted content within those planets. It's a different route really, even if similar.
Denis Govorkov You can download the Alpha Version for free. At the moment it's more a technical preview. but no man's sky was a technical preview on release for 60€ so... I think they'll make all better than "goodbye games".
Thankfully Star Citizen has more money than Sean Murray and Hello Games will ever see. The level to which Star Citizen was able to crowd source its' funding is absolutely amazing. I'm honestly surprised they haven't gotten more publicity over it. Has to be a record, $137M so far?
In a way Im glad they reworked the game, but then again look how far they were. I wonder if any of this will be able to be transferable to save time and money.
I'm not one to be picky about graphics but just in its current state alone now SC is detailed in everything you can possibly think of. Seeing the videos and personally seeing it are always two different experiences. I cannot wait for this to develop in a more playable/polished state. There's little to do now but it's very fun and the community is so friendly and helpful which is a great plus for any MMO. This is what happens when you take your time. You get an amazing product in the end. And this could arguably be the greatest space MMO in existence in the future.
Since Star Citizen recently switched to Amazon's Lumberyard game engine, they'll likely be using AWS (Amazon Web Services). AWS is a massive cloud platform (similar to Google Cloud) used by companies such as Netflix, NASA, Reddit.
I sometimes feel like this game is taking worryingly long. Then I remember that even a couple years ago there were demos of ship pressurization, landing zones, component use and jump drives and I think ok maybe they are just hiding everything.
Just because a feature has been demoed doesn't mean it's ready to be integrated onto live persistent alpha servers in combination with all other existing features without causing major bugs of doom. :P We've only really got 3 major fundamental groundwork things left before all that remains is fleshing out the Verse with content(which should rightfully come last to reduce the amount of duplicated work, and will be when the pipelines go into overdrive): 1. Procedural Planet tech, which seems to be not that far off. 2. Full-size star systems, not aware of any CIG known blockers to this. Wouldn't be surprised if this hits in 2.7 also. 3. Dynamic server instancing, and that's the big one. The one that will probably be a huge headache. But once those three technologies are integrated, it's content, content, content. :)
Meh neither of those are essential for the big content push. A placeholder economy would be a good thing first anyway to see how CIG should weight the later dynamic economy. And procedural mission generation isn't particularly difficult nor is it in any way core.
It won't happen and they already said years ago they will work with shards. Having more then 100 players at 1 location won't work so people will get in a different instance, it's like this with all mmo games.
have you seen the video dude? l0l years ago they dont have the resources, now they have, and they will do it, and im not saying that, chris roberts say that
they've only been developing this game for 4 years :P it takes other game companies with multi million dollar budgets and hundreds of employees like Bethesda around 10 years to make a game like Skyrim...
+Dro Drogo 1. SC has more than 200 people working on it. 2. SC has a multi million dollar budget, ($100000000 dollars; one hundred million dollars) 3. SC is 1 year behind on development. 4. Skyrim took about 4 years to make, with remastered versions coming later on.
a tour of the artwork, of course, how could ive been so blind. that is exactly how it will be represented in the final game...if at all. After the stunts Sean Murray was allowed to pull, I wouldnt be surprised if Chris Roberts would just run off with his "hard earned" cash and never be heard from again. like Sean Murray, or Peter Monileux. Its a common practice, and we, "the average consumer" love it.

No seriously is this game ever going to come out???? No mns Sky and Elite Dangerous both started production waaaaay after Star Citizen but yet still no OFFICIAL release of this game. It is either one Mr Robert's is lathering us with bullshit or two they are just like fuck them let them wait. We don't care about the investors who but millions into this game.
The games aren't at all comparable in terms of scope, they're just in the space sim genre. So many people are ignorant of the underlying tech and just see "oh it's just another game in space, it must be ready soon" Oh and SC has no investors. The word you are looking for is backers. Investors are owed a return. Backers aren't.
chiffmonkey That's all fine and dandy, thanks for telling me the difference between backers and investors. So when you are able please answer the question about when this game is coming out guy?
When it's done. And in the meanwhile CIG are sharing the development with us. Why is that so unreasonable? They don't want it to take long to make any more than we do.
lol, the devs might not want to, but the man in charge sure doesn't mind it taking some time. In the mean time they're still milking their "backers" with new ships and whatnot. Because going 100+ million dollars US for a budget wasn't enough to create the "next gen" simulation experience. Christ almighty...
The engine it uses is the Cryengine. If not the best specifically for graphics so you better have a PC with damn good specs to play this I'm betting. Remember Crysis? Yeah.
MyLifeWastedOnBf2 Yeah most people's PC's couldn't handle its specs you had to have the highest spec pc just to enjoy it. Crytek's Cryengine is a graphic powerhouse. As shown here.
They actually have completely rewritten the cryengine because it was lacking so much of the tools they needed to build the game. The only thing the engine uses now from crysis is the barebones framework. It's called the Star Engine now and its capabilities for game production are miles beyond any current AAA engine that it could sell for millions itself imo.
+Locallex, something to keep in mind is that for the first years since the original backing and announcement, they've been working on the technology to be able to develop such a game. They've already solved problems and advanced technology that big names like Dice and Battlefield tried to tackle for years but weren't able to(one that comes to mind is the recent Localized physics grid within a localized physics grid). Props to Dice for at least trying though! The upcoming 3.0 alpha is the milestone in that regard. Give it time, it'll get there. They're not just building a game. They're actually (aggressively) PUSHING the frontier as opposed to, y'know, up the graphics, engine tweaks, etc like some other non-mentioned games we know.
Jeff22 Sorry, but they already have, regardless of the yet uncertain success of SC. Like I mentioned, they managed to solve the localised physics grid issues even though many had attempted and failed before. And to an extent, they did it once again last night, by announcing internal development plans and internal deadlines. That is unprecedented in AAA-class video game development, as far as openness and pro-consumerism goes. It's not about jumping the gun and saying whether or not SC will be good - we don't know that yet, and we can't know. But facts are facts, and facts are, CIG have been changing things considerably, showing off tech, pushing gaming, and changing crowdfunded game development. Need I remind you, all this without a single publisher.
Anyone else played knights of the old republic? That's how you do giant cities right. you cant explore the entire thing because our PCs cant handle that yet, but what you do explore is beautiful and filled with diverse NPCs. And I have faith in this game.
This looks amazing and I wish this could turn out to be the game it's promising to be. Unfortunately I know better than to expect this to be anything other than an epic failure.
Whats with all the negativity in every comment on every SC video? Heaven forbid a game actually does something amazing nowadays....it's almost like you guys are yelling at them telling they cant make something this good. NO STOP IT! YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE GROUNDBREAKING GAMES!!!
You're a skeptic, that's a great start. :) I'm curious how much you've looked into Star Citizen's development though, because there really isn't an existing case study that this project could be compared to. Literally nothing else in history has been crowdfunded at this scale before. That also makes it the only indie game ever to have the budget of a AAA developer. And in terms of being indie, there are an awful lot of industry veterans invovled with the project. For instance, Foundry 42 Frankfurt are mostly composed of ex-Crytek staff. I'm not saying SC can't fail, of course it can. I'm just saying that this is an unknown paradigm that we maybe shouldn't be jumping to conclusions about - in either direction - until the dust has settled.
@Charity Fleites it may be kinda heart breaking, but what they will release later this year is the campaign(Squadron 42). Star Citizen is nowhere near finished. i read people saying that there's a high chance that it will be released in 2018
A part of me wishes this game undergoes another 3-5 years of development. So,finally when it comes out ,whole and better and exquisite than ever before it would be a 'work of creation'.Hopefully, the V.R.s will have also undergone improvements ,innovations and development by then;and may also be a bit more affordable. And finally playing this game on V.R. then would give the ultimate experience !
LOL, I've given up trying to look through the archives of ATV etc. I joined back in 2014 late and I've come to accept the fact that there was so much that I missed development wise hahaha. Every time I find something before I joined, there's always something else :').
Due to squadron 42 coming out you would think they will have several cities for that. So CIG must have a few cities ready to go. They must be waiting till they get procedural planets worked out first.
I wish them luck with this ambitious project. It's a hard approach. Elite Dangerous can tide me over. It may be a 10,000 miles wide and a few inches deep, but it is the closest thing to a real space simulator we're going to have for years.
WTF! How did you get this amazing footage? Is this just fan-generated material or is this actual official CIG WIP of Terra? Do you work for CIG? I have not seen any 'Terra Underground Transport System' footage on the Star Citizen youtube page
I find it interesting that Star Citizens has decides to release all at once where as Elite Dangerous does it little by little (but it's works great) In the End the two games will have the same scope with ability to walk around and fly around a huge Universe, They are just taking two different dev paths to get there.
This is awesome, I didn't know there was going to be a full-fledged city! Anyone know if there are going to be more? Like a capital city for each faction?
Quite amazing to check my music reached 500k views...
And on such a bad video too.
Its a great video :)
Pedro Camacho are you available on I tunes I was just thinking this has a very cool vibe similar to mirrors edge which I am a big fan of.
whats the title of this song .
Pedro Camacho you have so much talent for music, keep it up

IAN 400 yeah doing the maths of their employees and the time, it'll take 8 years until this game is fully completed
And it's doubtful that their _fixed_ budget will last that long. Employees are _expensive_.
Fixed? They keep selling concept ships. As much as people including
myself get a bit annoyed by it, it's their ongoing source of revenue for
now.
Was like, "Hey, I've already seen this trail... ohhh... ohhhhh DAYUM NICE"
I'ts a dream come true.
Same LOL was those videos exclusive to subscribers(SC subs)?

if this game will be what its actually promised to be, my faith in game developers will be restored
you cannot satisfy everyone. You have been sacrificed
Terra is a sleeping giant. One day she'll wake and change the universe forever. Until that day, we only got these glimpses of the work made in the past
I hope we get any of this someday.
It's on the 1.0 roadmap for now.
We will see Terra between 2022-2025 maybe even late 2021 but Server Meshing is a must for these cities.
i hope so :) Pyro should hopefully be coming in 2022 and then Nyx and Odin so I suppose there's still a bit of waiting left
Damn this shit is old af
Nope not gonna happen in a few year. CIG themselves stated the planet tech is fleshed out to take on something as complex as Earth or Terra currently.
@@anshukandulna1844 There was actually leaked Terra cityscape but maybe you are right.

Make that two. Holy wow!
Sounds like 2.7 is going to be amazing.
Im excited for SQ42 it'll be amazing!!
Oh yep thx for the video, one suscriber more^^ ah ah i was already hype for 2.6 and 2.7 now I'm even more hyped
Can’t wait to be able to walk around this place myself
If they actually build Terra as big as those concepts. Im gonna quit life, and stay inside my oculus in that universe forever. Soooo beautiful!
When I die, I want my brain surgically hard-wired to a mainframe and put into this game, so I can live in this phenomenal universe!
Hmm gonna have to upgrade my computer in 2025 to play this.
not looking good bud 💀
It's like a "Star Wars" dreams come true!
Simply amazing ... How can you guys achieve something big has this ? Continue your hard works
Yep, just another few years and it will be done.
That can only be acomplished with a loot of work, illusion, huge determination and 120M$ of crowd funding at the moment :P.

I could pay people to do a better job if you give me more money than you're giving Chris Roberts, so give me the money and I'll do it
Aridane Alamo I played Freelancer. Just another game, nothing special
coming together very nicely. Hope they take their time and make sure it comes out looking just like they want it and not to empty.

Oooh... same as my game Multiverse
Space travel will be a thing IRL by the time it is released.
I hate to break it to you but the first human spaceflight was 55 years ago.
Dude don't try to be a smart ass, you know _very well_ what I meant by space travel.
Interstellar travel? That's hundreds of years away. Manned mission to another astral body? Done that. You really should've specified manned mission to mars.
So .. there's a Subway in Terra Prime ? :O Wow !

Good question, especially knowing how much work and time it took them for GrimHex...
It's all part of the pipeline process. Did you notice that many Port Olisar assets are recycled for Kareah and Covalex? That's good level design, when you can reuse assets in a way that doesn't look repetitive. And they're only going to get better at it.
Not long actually, They've stated that the idea for Grim hex was born a little bit before the persistance patch to the baby PU.
You need to remember that Terra is probably the main planet as well. Some other planets will likely look at least a little bit more generic.
Terra and Earth. I can't imagine they'd want them to seem unbalanced in terms of grandeur. Then again Terra has 3 landing areas and Earth has 4.
I love that the offices and spaceport and stuff look far more sterile than the hospital or medical center.
Because in this old footage they hadn't been fleshed out yet. Compare the footage and the images of CenterMass to see what I mean.
Shots like 2:48 and 6:18 really make me wish we got 2 games. One with closed levels and loading screens, no procedural planets or manual flying through atmosphere, but areas like Terra in-game and not decades in the future

the music is spot on. what a game this will be. wow
wow, impressive. This game will be so great!
If that what the gameplay is like then it will be great but I don't see the being done until 2018
It's just promo to generate hype and money. They want to keep heir pockets full for as long as possible with minimal efforts. If in the end it's going to be a complete game or not, only the cash flow decides that.
I wouldn't call the progress they made in the last 3 years "minimal effort"
+TheTaxxor 100%agree :)
yeah i have to agree. even though i wanna play it real bad, i would rather wait a couple of years and hopefully get something awsome that i can play for years
The problem having cities and buildings so huge is they can feel empty (and a bit depressing) if it's not done properly
But Elite with its amount looks emptier as this.
Have you played ED ?And why exactly did you bring it up?
Gordon Beerman I have it with Horizons and already played a lot. Because this is one of three games with FPS like NMS, ED, SC.
Then you must know that as it stands now and probably some years to come SC doesn't even come close to what ED has to offer.
Gordon Beerman Sure. Also ED in its form can't offer things, that has SC and probably some years to come to what SC has to offer :D
I can't wait until our Sol system gets added in and seeing the landing pads like New York... can't wait!
they could just copy and upgrade assets and landing zones of the world of microsoft flight simulator to lessen their work.
By the time this game actually releases we are going to have actual intergalactic space flight and space colonies.
2:33 - bottom of the screen. if only CIG, if only.

least unlike no mans sky if they never release we can never be disappointed
a couple of minutes of running around some tunnels, then some still shots? OMG ITS AMAAAAZZZZZING lmao
What exactly were you expecting this video to be? Giant explosions?
idk an actual city? like the thumbnail? not just the fucking tunnels with still shots of above?
Please dont turn out to be something like No Man's Sky, dont lie to us, we're waiting for everything you're showing us!
its already better than no mans sky and elite dangerous... dunno if you have played it yet. but you can do missions and earn money already.

Denis Govorkov You can download the Alpha Version for free. At the moment it's more a technical preview. but no man's sky was a technical preview on release for 60€ so... I think they'll make all better than "goodbye games".
Elite wins 10 fold right now.
Thankfully Star Citizen has more money than Sean Murray and Hello Games will ever see. The level to which Star Citizen was able to crowd source its' funding is absolutely amazing. I'm honestly surprised they haven't gotten more publicity over it. Has to be a record, $137M so far?
beautiful architecture design and ideas to the world today needs to look in the 21st century
Finally some proper space ambient music instead of the douchey stuff on other SC videos
Nice video demo, the beginning was very cool, shame something like that will never happen in the game but still nice :)
The video at the beginning is the arena commander demo and we've been able to do what it shows for a couple of years :)
What makes you think that?
Looks and plays damn good for Alpha. Can't wait for Beta and the economy.
Looks like playstation 2 graphics to me, not the concept art the actual game play shown
upgrade your computer...have you played it? If you can't then you have nothing to say.
LIke i said in my comment i'm referring to the gameplay shown.
HD video gets rendered to a format then compressed by youtube...I test this alpha stage of the game everyday. Its very good on a good pc.
ive got it and run in highest settings on 1080p 144hz and it looks AMAZING. this vid is just a reference of the layout.
You should be able to hail a robotic flying taxi to fly you to any destination in the city for a fee.
The servers hosting this are either going to be Google sized, or gtfo
what about google cloud why is it soo good evry one is talking about it?
Automatically Sizes based on load so google will spin up additional servers as needed is one of the big one IMO
MrEverything Darick cool
nice name btw
Since Star Citizen recently switched to Amazon's Lumberyard game engine, they'll likely be using AWS (Amazon Web Services). AWS is a massive cloud platform (similar to Google Cloud) used by companies such as Netflix, NASA, Reddit.
***** changes to lumberyard an Amazon cloud
This is how I imagine Cyberpunk: 2077 will look like!
We've only really got 3 major fundamental groundwork things left before all that remains is fleshing out the Verse with content(which should rightfully come last to reduce the amount of duplicated work, and will be when the pipelines go into overdrive):
+chiffmonkey and large scale economy processing.
+NINTHSKULL oh and procedural mission generation.
Meh neither of those are essential for the big content push. A placeholder economy would be a good thing first anyway to see how CIG should weight the later dynamic economy. And procedural mission generation isn't particularly difficult nor is it in any way core.
+chiffmonkey lol what? What do you even mean by content if these aren't essential?
Great concept fArt!
please be able to buy a house/flat
100% agree, and none of that instanced crap. Property sales pre-release? another 100m?
It won't happen and they already said years ago they will work with shards. Having more then 100 players at 1 location won't work so people will get in a different instance, it's like this with all mmo games.
have you seen the video dude? l0l years ago they dont have the resources, now they have, and they will do it, and im not saying that, chris roberts say that
you will :D
+HirXeBomb That's a shame
Such a wonderful video! Nice job!
Star Citizen - A Tour of Hype that your grandkids might get to play.
they've only been developing this game for 4 years :P it takes other game companies with multi million dollar budgets and hundreds of employees like Bethesda around 10 years to make a game like Skyrim...
Exactly my point...
Dro Drogo And this has been a kind of Side project
+Dro Drogo
1. SC has more than 200 people working on it.
2. SC has a multi million dollar budget, ($100000000 dollars; one hundred million dollars)
3. SC is 1 year behind on development.
4. Skyrim took about 4 years to make, with remastered versions coming later on.
true, and look at the buggyness of bethesda's games during launch.
extremly impressive, some that consoles won't ever have
Well by the time the game comes out consoles will probably be able to run it xD In a few 100 years
- When?
- Soon.
In ten yrs time, they're working on more details for cloud cities and not bug fixing.
a tour of the artwork, of course, how could ive been so blind. that is exactly how it will be represented in the final game...if at all.

So many people are ignorant of the underlying tech and just see "oh it's just another game in space, it must be ready soon"
Oh and SC has no investors.
This was such a great game !!! Can't wait for part 2.
What year are you from
@@whoowhaaat5666what year are you from

9:20 Welcome to "SEF" land zone lol
So beautiful
well just keep looping this video because the gameplay is years from tjos
Lol you couldn't be more wrong...maybe you should try out the current playable PTU 2.something. It's a lot closer than your cynicism believes it is.
Looks like they got a lot of inspiration from Mass Effect...
I will play this game with my PS5 in 2021.
The engine it uses is the Cryengine. If not the best specifically for graphics so you better have a PC with damn good specs to play this I'm betting. Remember Crysis? Yeah.
"Remember crysis?" I just finished playing it again....the very first one. Love that game.
MyLifeWastedOnBf2 crisis still looks amazing today
Cameron Brown
It was very ahead of it's time, and most peoples framerate at that time was definitive proof of such. lol.
It's called the Star Engine now and its capabilities for game production are miles beyond any current AAA engine that it could sell for millions itself imo.
holy shit the art design team of this game is incredible
I can't wait to land and rent a hover car so I can drive to the ship dealership 9 blocks from the ship port so I can buy a new ship.
If you can rent a hover car and travel 9 blocks to a dealership, Id say this is a pretty promising game. The wait tho
Dark Legate each planet would be like its own mini grand theft auto map (even tho I hate making that comparison).
Mini? I think giga sized.
+arron mullings To me it seems more like 10 different gta maps on just that one planet lol
Space style
really cool footage, got yourself a sub
As amazing as this looks, I just don't know how they're going to pull this off
Locallex by taking their time as they are doing
Actually they have pushed a fair few core technologies, the one I find
most impressive being unified FPV/3PV, which is like a holy grail of
game devs.
Anyone else played knights of the old republic? That's how you do giant cities right. you cant explore the entire thing because our PCs cant handle that yet, but what you do explore is beautiful and filled with diverse NPCs. And I have faith in this game.
towards the end you only showed art work
Hello Negan
The ambient music is compelling
This looks amazing and I wish this could turn out to be the game it's promising to be. Unfortunately I know better than to expect this to be anything other than an epic failure.
Ikr :(. I want stuff space games to succeed so bad.
I, unfortunately, feel exactly the same.... :(
Whats with all the negativity in every comment on every SC video? Heaven forbid a game actually does something amazing nowadays....it's almost like you guys are yelling at them telling they cant make something this good. NO STOP IT! YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE GROUNDBREAKING GAMES!!!
Mortechai Just been burned one too many times by these kinds of promises to know better than to take them seriously anymore is all.
This game is just... beautiful
maybe this game brings a sense of importance, not something i'll likely find in real life.
You aren't alone there lol.
Anthony Blank You can find it in real life
Probably. The world is full of probablies. But in the end, it is just a desert.
This is really awesome!!!
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY OMG
what a joy to look at, this game is......shame i will never be able to afford a pc strong enough to handle it....
I swore I wasn't going to play this game... I swore it............. I SWORE IT... Next week I might just buy a 200 dollar ship... This looks AMAZING.
I did the same 2 years ago. dropped 450 on a ship that they havent even made yet.
shit dude, did you ever get a ship? 2 years later?
still waiting for them to make it. all I have are pretty concept art pictures to look at.
strider, but u contributed to the creation of great game hopefully, you will get your ship, no worries mate
and for that I'm glad to help this company create a great game. But I do look forward to seeing the end result.
I can't wait for this to come out! The salt mines will be infinite and the wold will drown in the tears of fanboys
This is going to be such a beautiful game
if it ever comes out
+Neil impatient much?
it will late of this year
@Charity Fleites it may be kinda heart breaking, but what they will release later this year is the campaign(Squadron 42). Star Citizen is nowhere near finished. i read people saying that there's a high chance that it will be released in 2018
@Neil Cod Infinite Warfare took 3 years to be released, and it doesn't even have half the content that this game has
A part of me wishes this game undergoes another 3-5 years of development.
If there's any particular subjects you're not that well versed on I'd be interested to know, gives me an idea what sort of content would be useful. :)
wow this game is looking amazing
Concept art looked amazingly mixed with vibrant and pastel colors...
*The game looked... brown*
Definitely gonna 1st person this all the way.Gonna get immersed and get lost into this world. This is the dream.\o/
Due to squadron 42 coming out you would think they will have several cities for that. So CIG must have a few cities ready to go. They must be waiting till they get procedural planets worked out first.
+Lord Steve they said that because of how fast pg planets were designed they will end up being in sq42
And if we see 2.7 with procedural planet a the end of the year on the Pu , which its what is suppose to, so Sq42 will surely have them too.
not 2.7 3.0 m8
I wish them luck with this ambitious project. It's a hard approach.
Elite Dangerous can tide me over. It may be a 10,000 miles wide and a few inches deep, but it is the closest thing to a real space simulator we're going to have for years.
WTF! How did you get this amazing footage? Is this just fan-generated material or is this actual official CIG WIP of Terra? Do you work for CIG? I have not seen any 'Terra Underground Transport System' footage on the Star Citizen youtube page
Running animation = Shepard's dancing in Mass Effect 1
I find it interesting that Star Citizens has decides to release all at once where as Elite Dangerous does it little by little (but it's works great) In the End the two games will have the same scope with ability to walk around and fly around a huge Universe, They are just taking two different dev paths to get there.
This is awesome, I didn't know there was going to be a full-fledged city! Anyone know if there are going to be more? Like a capital city for each faction?
Omg there is a metro 😍 this game has so much to offer
Really?! Omg, I can't believe it!!!! /sarcasm
+S İmanov there is always this one guy like you...
Special Force 3 That's called "reality check" sweet heart! So... you haven't seen too much of a metro, have you?
+S İmanov wtf man you got a fucking problem ??
Special Force 3 Question is still standing...
Haha, I love all the inanimate T-poses.
1:32 was a total Top Gun move!
I hope that it has seasons where it can snow with strong blizzards and thunderstorms and shit like that.
I see myself standing there in the middle of the street with open mouth and... yeah i miss the words.. i m impressd. And Exited :)
Great intro-music
wooooooooooow beautiful 😮 where can I get some of these wallpapers ? Damn amazing !!! I've always dreamt of environments like that 😃
Hope they do something about that running animation..
For the billionth time this is old footage.
Lol, are we gonna have all players running around like that? Great immersion hahaha!!!!
If you mean the movement animations, no. Old footage with old animations.
It is my dream to have my corporation own a skyscraper on terra
Nice. Thanks!
Terra my fav system so far.
Good job!
If heaven exist, that music is what you hear when you get there!
