Honestly SUCH a downgrade from the previous two. No real replay value, the animation doesn’t work (they REALLY need to stop trying to put South Park in 3D) and it was way too short for all the buildup. I hope the next game goes back to Stick of Truth and Fractured but Whole.

The South Park games needed a change, you can only make so many 2D RPGS and run out of mechanic ideas, Fractured but Whole basically mastered the combat system.

Maybe it only has 4 hours of gameplay if you set it to easy and blast through it once + immediately quit. The game is designed more around replayability and multiplayer. The maps even change up on different runs through which I think is pretty cool.
@CommanderCobalt580 Watch the video on RUclips, and you will see that people have about 4 hours of game time. I played on normal difficulty and collected hidden chests whenever possible. It took me 4 hours 15 minutes. 30 euros for 4 hours? Maximum 20 euros for this game. There will be DLC, but if it's the price of the main game, then the developers are greedy. The last two South Park games were longer than this "something." 4 hours may be an DLC, but not the main game.
@@MixxedBerriesit is very replayable, but you have to enjoy the beat em up/ hack and slash style of the game or it might get repetitive for some, I personally love it and I have a blast with it
I have a few hours in and love it. Some of the review sites were way to harsh. Comparing it to Stick and Fractured is just not fair to it. Given its price i think most can assume that they weren't aiming for it to be on those levels. Its just a fun game in Southpark.

Exactly, the game is far cheaper than the other games were, people expecting something to the level of the previous games were just raising their expectations for nothing, the game is very good for what it is and more content is to come

And both of the previous games you actually got to walk around south park but it looks like a New York City train map. There was no way to freely explore it. This one was supposed to be in 3-D and we all know what that means but instead of making the town in 3-D they made levels that had nothing to do with South Park and Called it Southpark because it was just easier. I don’t see how Matt and Trey ever did a sit down and played this game and let it go passed them. Unless of course they don’t really play video games and they have no idea what good and bad is.

I loved the other two games. Played and beat the SoT 10 times plus, and the Fractured but Whole was something even better. This game is something but kinda lacks it seems.
The bad reviews this game has received are nothing but BS. After playing this game myself, I can say it is great. Knowing all the bits and pieces that go into a game like this makes it all the more enjoyable. I would personally say this is the second, if not, the best south park game that has been released.

See, too many people were thinking that it would be like stick of truth and fractured, if not better. To be honest I loved the game because it’s basically a breath of fresh air. And plus this game’s replay ability is great. I could only replay stick of truth and TFBW a few times before getting bored easily. But with this game, the maps switch up every time you start a new match. So while it’s not like SoT or TFBW, it’s still a good game on its own. I’m glad they switched to 3D! My only complaint is that there isn’t much in the overworld. It’s just one part of the neighborhood with Cartmans, Butters, and New Kids backyard.

It's cartman's floater that had been left in the toilet.
They animated all the cutscenes in normal south park animation and then animated the 3D over top of it, and I agree it looks amazing.
Well, I got past almost everything, but I’m stuck and I deleted the game. The reason being there is just one part that if you don’t defeat like Eric Cartman or something, you have to restart every single thing again and that so silly. Also, when you’re at the church, you don’t know where to go there’s no there’s no directional to say hey go here. They need to have that in the next games I spent almost an hour trying to find where Cartman was.
That sounds like a skill issues I had no problem following Eric.
I VERY hope they will make a South Park Rally remake with new stuff added.

People can say what they like about this game, but It was really fun. I agree that It's not as good as the other two games, but I think it's a bit unfair to compare it. The story isn't as crazy as the others and the game is obviously a lot shorter, but I think the story this game told was fun, and it was nice to give Mr. Hankey a return after so long. People say that the cut scenes don't work properly, but they worked fine for me. The game is great, but even if it wasn't, I'd still have bought it to support South Park.

As someone who's been bullied and outcasted his whole life and wants to love South Park again please bring back Phillip "Pip" Pirrip. I related to him on an emotional level due to the bullying and treatment we both had to suffer through and it really broke my heart when I found out that he was killed off. It really hurt me and I haven't been able to see South Park the same way since then... I really want to see him return in an impactful way that doesn't involve being treated like crap by the writers. Please Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
Pip will never come back. He's the most hated character in the franchise and rightfully so. He didn't fit in the slightest and even his artstyle was off.
Lets me just say this! I played the game for a few hours and it’s amazing! I enjoy the combat and the 3D aspect of this game! I’ll personally rate it a 8/10 from my experience. Plus, it’s $30 🤓

Let me talk about the people comparing this game to their previous two 2D TB(Turn Base) RPG game. You can’t compare apples to oranges people 👏This *isn’t* like their two previous 2D games, ok? It’s a 3D action game. I already see grown people(mind you) bomb reviewing this game because it’s *not* like their previous two 2D TB games! They’re *literally* whining and throwing a kid tantrum because they *didn’t* get what *they want* and are now, taking their lil anger tantrum out onto this game.
I swear, y’all(them) are snowflakes and will throw a tantrum for anything! If you don’t get your way 🤦
Plus this *is* a “live service” game! So, they’ll add more content to this game! That’s a big W for us players!
Live service games aren't really a good thing if your base game isn't that appealing and given how the SP audience were used to and fond of the RPG styles of gameplay, changing genres with a live service mindset to it isn't gonna make people hype for it even if others gave it a fair chance. That said, there are a lot of people just hate playing and reviewing for not being what they expected though I can't excuse the Switch version.
@@dnmstarsii think its a really good idea that they switched things up or it was gonna get repetitive to do one more RPG south park game, especially when they were getting burned out from making those games, they went for something more simple this time (in a way), you just have to like what it has to offer, some people don't and it's fine but most people are acting like babies about it when the game is cheaper than most triple A games, if the game is still expensive for your taste then that's a problem with the gaming industry in general, A LOT of triple A games cost way too much for what it's worth, that's a fact. Don't take it out on this game, it's a good game.

The idea to go from RPG styled gameplay to live action service PvP game isn't that great of an idea especially when the past SP games had different styles of RPG gameplay to keep the game fresh. Stick of Truth had Paper Mario styled gameplay while TFBW had more a tactical RPG approach so a different RPG styled like Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana could've worked if we had another RPG. Them making this big of a change is like having the next main Sonic game go from platformer to an FPS while continuing the story of the franchise. It just doesn't work that well even if you continued the main story or released it as a cheaper game.
And it's fine to try new things and not feel burnt out especially when this game isn't expensive but at the same time, it's a follow up to two critically acclaimed stories from the franchise. It's fine to like this game and give it support as much as possible but understand that this game wasn't what people wanted and they're not really won over like you and others have. I'm just indifferent but see both sides of the argument.

Just finished it in 4h30, I'm just dissapointed... The game is bareboned, very small references, a small story, its just sad for 30 bucks...

I absolutely love the show. But the game not so much. I hated how you had to restart each level over again. You should only have to restart the current level of the game that you are on. Instead of all of them. I couldn’t get past the cartman level and I never got to the Mr. Hankey poo 💩 stage.
I did the game solo why so many you all having skills issues 😂

I was really looking forward to this new South Park video game and I hope that there are references to the series and I have villains from the series like the pig bear man, Mickey, the Woodland Critters and the crab people.
