I don’t care if I’m starting highschool, this is gonna help me so much in the future. I’m writing this to my future self so she knows to COME BACK TO THIS VIDEO.
I especially love the essay advice portion! It's so true that you need to show an experience, and ask that "so what" question to get your message across to the admissions' officers.
22 year old teacher here. I gotta say my favorite part is prepping high schoolers for college because if it’s not over complicated, or made to seem you have to be valedictorian to get in, it’s much less stressful and they feel more confident going into the next part of their life!
Wish I had you as a teacher. I'm thinking these practices are not just for school. I've overwhelmed my mind with stuff lately that has me in counseling. I don't do homework because I've been diagnosed as a severe case of PTSD from detachment. My brother complained I don't listen and my wife left me after 32 years of being my best friend but my brother has taken his life and I'm alone now. I don't know how to do the homework to deal with this in group
Thanks for posting this Gohar, I have 6 or 7 colleges that I’m planning to apply for, already filled out all of the common app (except for the essay, not entirely happy with it yet). Best of luck to my peers applying this year!
I know we graduate in 2030 from high school. Then we go off to college and 2031 I don't even know why we're on this thing.Cause we're nowhere near college.Sixth grade is wild

Thank you so much! I was so confused before, but now because of your clear explanations and passion to help students, I have gained some clarity! Once again thank you so much!!
Decembers in Boston are f*cking amazing! I love that scene of cold air on the face when I leave home and love to be greeted to a warm destination. 6:30
I have 2 safeties, 2 matches, 2 reaches. However, at one of my “reach” schools I’m applying into a major that is not one of their top 10 majors and I have a bunch of experience that will give me a step up.
Thanks for the info bro. I’m a junior in high school rn and senior year I’m probably gonna do a internship with Pratt and Whitney through my school. I’m also doing the quest for space program through my high school aswell. Just hope everything can work out in the long run and that money won’t be to big of an issue. Also, any recommendations for aerospace engineering schools in GA?
You have plenty time in Junior year to ask your teachers its good to do some research now ofc don't be shy like me ask ur teachers even if it's saying idk what to do lol
Hey Gohar, I am applying Early Decision to a college and want to ask that what should I do first? Submit the application and then apply for financial aid or vice versa...
I got lucky with the essay. One of my Humanities teachers in Senior year was my American Lit teacher in sophomore year, and is a former admissions counselor. I wrote a chessay. The first edition, she tore apart within minutes. The second one, took me a while to do. I could not do anything with it for nearly two months because of the classic writer's block. Then I finished it, and my teacher quickly approved it. That was the only essay I had to write.
I remember that there was a short on the important things and activities and competitions that you need 💀I remember he talking about the writing award from that book publisher but I lost all ym bookmarks 😭
This helped me a lot and I’m still in middle schools who’s about to head to 8 grade it’ll help a lot about certain colleges I wanted to apply to I recommended you sub to bro he give all the answers
Love your content Gohar ❤ could you please make an informed video on extracurriculars like science fairs, and international competitions(intel ISEF, Deca, Hosa etc.) 👇 👇
Hey I know you probably won't see this but your videos have really helped me become more productive and objective focused. But I have a question, what do I do if I'm in my latter half of highschool and previous "eh I'll do it later"s come back to haunt me, maybe make a short about course corrections or ways to springboard from a safety college to a midrange or even potentially reach if possible, just an idea from a fan in crisis.
I started grade 12 this year and I want to apply to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but I saw things difficult and the requirements were a bit difficult. I see myself now lost and I don’t know, even though in six months the baccalaureate exam awaits me.
Could you make a video about what cars don't have these modern car features? You showed the camry and civic when talking about which modern cars do not have the pitfalls associated with these troublesome features, but I'd like to know other cars that don't try to reinvent the wheel. Thanks!
Im a ninth grader but I'm goanna try my best to make sure I get all my goals done before graduation: make a few short films, release songs/albums, get into a professional film, continue my volleyball or other sports (I have a very large list of extracurriculars) and basically have the time of my life without burning myself out :>
Any recommendations for a student that has to take a year before going to college due to medical reasons outside of their control? Specifically, aside from doing as much as possible during that year, is there anything specific that can be done to express interest in continuing education to a college despite not being able to go right away?
Can you apply, and then take a gap year? In schools common data sets, you should be able to see how many years a school can delay admission. Not sure if this would work for your situation, but might be a route worth exploring
@@henrycollins2478 I'll check it out, thank you for the idea! I didn't think of that. (I'll do my best to research on my own; if you could suggest where I might find the "common data sets" you referred to, I think that would be helpful)
Thank you! I’ve started applying last month and realized how incredibly difficult it is to figure all this out. Each school is so different! So far I’ve applied to 2/7 schools, and my counselor is already sick of sending my transcript. Because my dual enrollment college classes are taken throughout 3 different colleges, I have to pay another $45 in fees just to send my transcripts to ONE college (not including the ~$50 application fee). Any tips to reduce these fees? I can’t afford to keep applying as of now, as I won’t get paid until next month :(
ask for fee waivers and tell your counselor your situation. They can put it in the CommonApp fee waiver additional information so that it is more likely you can get a fee waiver.
Common app fee waivers are the way to go. If you have an admission counsellor then talk to them regarding this. And you'll easily crack this part of the admission process.
Thank you so much Gohar, you're amazing. and it would be great if you can post a video about CSS Application tutorial. I couldn''t find any helpful ones :'(
i wish i saw this before i graduated. i am 100% an academic weapon and always performed extremely well in school but ive been in a very tricky position for my junior and senior year, i had to work to support my family and chose that over education. i ended highschool very badly but now we're in a much better place and i hope i still get to experience higher education. thank you for this video, it gives me a lot of information that i can use to my advantage and hopefully continue my journey
