It does a great job addressing some cultural myths we have about physical activity and weight that might contribute to fears about their partners' longevity.

Guy who wants his wife to be active, if you had kids 10+ years ago, she also could be perimenopausal which brings a whole host of issues that are out of her control. For the last quesion...is the wife possibly experiencing depression? That could influence motivation to exercise and be active. Also, is she choosing any of the activities? She may like to do different things.
There are a few vegan dishes I love. The best way to find creative dishes is through selective restrictions. But vegan eating, like carnivore eating, is best in moderation. I love a good vegan dish, and I have a bunch in my regular recipe box. However, if a vegan dish is what's on the menu that night, I'm not afraid to sub out tofu for chicken or fish, or even pork or beef if it works. (Side note, once you learn to cook tofu right, it really opens up a whole new genre of foods that are actually really good on their own.) I think we as Americans eat way too much meat and animal products for a normal, healthy diet, but cutting out ALL animal products entirely is also not what what the human body is built for. I do think that if you're going to eat meat, you should have to kill something and watch it die and then prepare and eat it at least once before you're 18. I think it's important to understand the impact and importance of life and what it means to take a life for food. Meat is a necessary component of the human diet, but it comes at a cost. I don't think you can begin to understand that cost without having killed anything yourself.
