hey man, I really like your content, you make quality vids. I saw your last video about optimizing cachyos, I really love that distro, so I wanted to ask - could you make a similar video about cachyos handheld edition, pretty pls? I'm thinking of getting a handheld soon, probably a Legion Go
i have it installed on my steam deck LCD (because i hate immutable distros). It's not bad to use it, though, when i'd plug it in my TV (for example), the audio just comes from the steam deck itself and not from the TV. But so far, it's a good experience with CachyOS handheld Edition on the Steam Deck LCD. Edit: Turned out to be the HDMI Cable itself. I swapped with another and the audio comes from the TV.
I have to admit I've probably written similar comments on RUclips that read as if I'm part of the marketing team. From an outside perspective it can be really entertaining.
But mint is based on ubuntu, the heart of the decline, may as well throw it in the fire. MX linux is the one I wanted to install but I can't get any progress on the install and no one can answer simple, direct questions so I am pretty much stuck. Went directly to Debian and at least got it installed properly, but now can't boot. I think the real problem with linux is the people who are actually going to use it are going to be computer nerds who have good hardware that's not really supported and there's no support lists and any question about support tends to get locked.
Well, I use MX-Linux KDE and it's extremely good. Also given it to a number of people here who cannot afford new hardware for Windows 10 (forget 11!) to keep their machines running. No problems. So yes, I have found it good on old or low spec laptops. Lots of benefits to MX-Linux. It's extremely stable, being Debian, er, stable. I run an online business using laptops. I NEED stability! Choice of either Sysinit or SystemD on boot. Choice of a number of kernels to allow support for old hardware to cutting edge. Powerful package management with easy access to flatpaks but, with KDE, I can use 'Discover' as needed - which works for less tech savvy users. But, in addition, to all that, the MX Tools are stunning! Proper GUI user creation/control with groups. GUI system clean up tools including easy kernel removal. The SUPERB system image tool that allows you to create an ISO image of you COMPLETE set up - apps, flatpaks, users, config and installl (not image restore - proper install) on a laptop. GREAT for backups and installing across a range of machines. A lifesaver on a couple of occasions... like when my laptop suddenly melted on me one morning. Er, I live in the tropics. Joking aside, MX Linux is really solid. However, snaps are pretty much a non-starter due to MX Linux's preference for sysinit. However snaps do not generally do what I want. Each person has their own use case mind and if you want cutting edge MX Linux, like almost any Debian distro, is not for you. But for someone who needs the laptop to be working AT ALL TIMES it's a winner. (Er, I do not use Crowdstrike.)
Maybe I don't get this video, and I'm not an MX fanboy, but I've had nothing but great experience with MX. Aside from sourceforge downloading the ISOs. I generally watch content like this to get a bit of a laugh and maybe even an idea of viable alternatives, but all I've really seen is hysterical laughter at anything good being said.
@@A1RM4X Regarding that part of "should I do reviews in an outrageous viking style?" the answer is totally yes, but simply make an alternate persona. MX LInux: That you don't break, but it breaks you.
Btw reading distrowatch is pure entertainment.
You could test LMDE for gaming in comparison with MX!

Holy shit the window resizing part
This is a new must. Add distrowatch as it's own thing, or review distro watch of the distro being tested at the time.

this is gold
It’s a decent distro but like others have said, just use Debian if you can figure out how to install the WiFi drivers.
Tried to use Ventoy, rufus, etcher but no luck.
I can't even try it after about 10 failed attempts to download the iso I gave up
I don't know what it says about you if you can't use bittorrent
this was so funny

You probably have some major hardware issues.
I don't understand how this can be the #1 distro? Is it because it is good for old PCs?
nah it's review botted, you don't need an account to rate a distro on there it seems
Basically any linux (except ubuntu and gentoo I guess) is good for old PCs.
I just use Debian with JWM. Beats any other lightweight distro.
I guess because it's pretty fast when using, it boot up quick even when I tried usb live. But with no software center app, it's a no for me.

Distrowatch is so out of whack it is hilarious 😂😂😂
are they getting paid for this level of glazing or is this some inside joke 😭
For running Debian Spiral Linux is better, because use only Debian stuff like good old Synaptic. MX software is just unstable crap.
something tells me the new MX Linux isn't good...

MX is mediocre and boring
there is no reason for it to be on the number 1 spot
I didnt like Mxlinux. Didnt see the point! Why not run Mint or Debian!
I hate MX Linux. Dont see why people love it. I mean just run Debian.
Totally unneeded distro imo.
why are you laughing AIRMX4 ? respect the commitment these people have put into this ! if your so smart make your own perfect distro !
If you look at the whole stream, you would notice I am laughing at the reviews more than I am laughing at the distro or the devs of the distro...
