Though The Galactic Star Cruiser does look like fun, it reminds me so much of a Girl Scout or Boy Scout camp. You’re broken up into teams with strange names, your days are packed with crafts/lessons, you make new friends, wear uniforms/costumes. Then you come home and sleep three days. I might go if not for the price.
Thank you for posting! What a lame experience!!! I was really hoping this Bridge experience would be super cool. NOT! The more I see, the more disappointed I am about the Star Cruizer. Loving the Coverage! Hope you are having a good time - I'm looking forward to reading/watching the review of your experience.
@@theadmiral4625 I'm just so disappointed with the ship blaster activity. Star Wars has always shown firing blasters on a starship to be an incredibly kinetic and involved experience. Either you're physically manning a turret where you're swiveling, or you're feeling the kick back from the blasts in a fighter, or you're standing right by massive artillery cannons as they recoil, which we even see in Rise of the Resistance. But instead we get... honestly we get Star Trek phasers. Press a button, watch a beam on a screen hit a target. Wooo. Get some arcade style gun turret simulators in there! That tech has only been around for 30 years now, it can't be difficult for them to put something like that together and incorporate it into the showmanship they're going for.
"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of little plastic buttons suddenly went CLACK-CLACK-CLACK in terror, and were suddenly silenced."
Not a failure of the Cast Members, they look like the best part of the experience. A failure of the Bean Counters who cut corners and priced the majority of the American populace out . Thanks, Bob Paycheck.
I think if this was at least half the price they are charging I would be tempted to give it a go. As long as they added a few extra things in to that price, like alcoholic drinks, and maybe a few extra days in the parks themselves afterwards. Wonder if someone would turn up in a Star Trek uniform and how would the cast members react to that.
I'm watching this as the captain is about to reveal that she's working for the Resistance, and looking at the guy in Imperial cosplay, and thinking, "she's gonna blab about the Resistance in front of an Imperial officer?" And then she singles out the people dressed as Imperials/First Order and gets them to swear to secrecy. Nice touch.
WDWNT uploading some great videos... sadly though, they're not making this experience look any better to me personally - it looks woeful... I feel sorry for the cast members who are giving it their all - as usual.
I see Ordinary Adventures and Reza are enjoying their second cruise in space, seeing as they were some of the influencers invited for free... They must've booked it with their own funds before they got the free invite and just decided to hang out and play it again. I wonder if the crew are playing it as if they've never seen them before or if they're like "Oh welcome back!" You'll have to let us know how they react to seeing you again on the second voyage, Tom, please. I am curious.
This is great. I'm sitting here going, no shut that one off, press that it should be on 😄 this is the best bridge training video I've seen. I love this coverage.
Say what you want about the characters, I like the actresses playing the captain and cruise director. I think they're doing a great job and can get better as more voyages happen. Thanks for the videos on this!
Man - these actors are earning their money - they're fabulous - this whole experience actually seems really cool. Not sure if it's 6k cool...but it's way better than it looked previously!
@@rexpositor6741 What can I say - I love a good "we all have to work together to do a thing" event...I mean, it's not a very interesting or exciting thing, but the mood in the room seemed pretty electric with the "we're doing this together" vibe. I appreciate that :)
Anyone remember that KFC space shuttle that was on Community? This reminds me strongly of that. Better graphics, sure, but it’s just ‘working as a team to hit some buttons at the right time’. All it needs is Pierce going space mad in the corner. In fact, if I were there, I think I’d be making space madness my personal ‘story’ just to fit in. 😂
Still not going at that price, but I recognize how much CM effort goes into this, and I don't think I've ever seen a fixed group video game before, nothing like this. The cynicism is still a bit deserved, but if this was the vacation you saved up for then I can see why it would be worth it. Is there anything for the anti-social person to do? I know we saw an atrium earlier but is there a bar you can hang out in? A library? Can you break into the engine room and play "What does this button do?"
I would like to do this, but not at the prices they are charging. I can get a good Disney Cruise for this price. I"ll give it some time and once the initial demand drops, I'm sure the prices will too. Ultimately, this would be something I would want to do before a full Disney Cruise, especially if if's one with the Star Wars day at sea.
Can i ask a question about the passengers costumes? Tom & various others (but seemingly not everyone) are dressed in a Star Wars like manner. I saw WDWNT before Tom arrived where he was wearing the same costume. Is it something you have just brought for the stay or does Disney give you various costume options you can select from? If so, is that included in the price or extra?
I’ve watched literally all the coverage bc loser 😆 and I definitely noticed different actors in the 2-day media experience vs. the 4-hr blogger experience. Most obvious were the first order lieutenant and “Sammy” who were clearly different (older, shorter, different voices, etc.)
Seriously, you could do all this in VR. The Darth Vader games have better light saber training than the "chase the laser" game. The game they all just played looks like the Space Pirates Trainer game on the Oculus.
Looks like a lot less people in here compared to the vlogger/influencer preview day from the other videos I've seen. Looks like theres a whole lot less people really here. Would you say that is accurate Tom?
Droid AJ1O also known as Watch? Why? That’s not how droids are named traditionally. Also, I don’t remember droids being just screens before - could they not have made an actual droid for this room? Yeesh.
There was a ride in Disney quest that was more immersive and challenging than this. You walk onto a pirate ship and have to shoot cannons , it was a screen also but I believe the boat was on hydraulics and actually moved etc. and you could feel the cannon blast and impact AND THAT WAS 20 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY. Even the custom made roller coaster ride at Disney quest was good. They could have easily used those ideas or even up cycled those rides for this place and cheap ass bob chapek would have been happy.
Wow what a cool navigation droid ….. it must cost so much to design and develop the tech and animatronics that work together to create such a realistic droid and that design is so sick I’ve never seen such a cool design that still actually fits nice into the world of Star Wars and the whole galactic crucible vibe…..,. APRIL FOOLS it’s just a sound you hear played over the speaker
Do you think Disney Cruise Line should start letting passengers man the bridge?
WDWNT coverage is great. How great? Its saving me 6,000 bucks great.

The most entertaining thing in this video was the guest cosplaying as the 10th Doctor 😆

...what Disney has done is so bland compared to what COULD'VE been done....... and that paywall makes China jealous ;D

Lmao Tom during the “attention on deck” bit was me in school any time a teacher asked me to turn to a classmate and talk. “Blah blah blah”

Really have you seen the captain and her twin assistant they are compete duds

omg that would be amazing.
As a video game person this looks fun to me.
Think about how cool this would have been as a pre-show for any of the star wars rides at Studios.
Wow that’s some really expensive Space Invaders immersion, cool
I like the part where the Captain starts hassling the guest dressed as an Imperial Officer
Thanks so much for this. On our trip this part was so overwhelming I forgot a lot of the details. This brings it back.
Thanks for these videos. It just reinforces to me that this is made for kids and at the current pricing it's definitely not worth it.

I think above anything I'm impressed how good the buttons and control responses sound.

Even though i will never be able to afford this. The actors do bring a lot of entertainment into it.

Why is everything in a big silent room. Painful. It's like school
Some of these look like the type the games you could play at the end of Mission Space for free.
Hit the big button!! Yes, I agree.. that does usually solve the problem..haha....I love it.
This is great. I'm sitting here going, no shut that one off, press that it should be on 😄 this is the best bridge training video I've seen. I love this coverage.
The second that yellow cross hair pops up 🤣

I hear the wait time for this is 180 minutes after paying to get in unless you have a Genie + pass! 😂
Only makes me miss Disney Quest even more
Absolute chaos this is like a 100 person game of invader

I see The Doctor there, I think someone's in the wrong franchise.

Seems very chaotic and a bit unclear what you're actually trying to do/aim for. Looks much better than the previews made it seem, at least.
Actors are great.
this Bridge experience is something you would find on International Drive -- but it's missing a wax museum & fish exhibit.
Wasn’t this game at the end of mission space ?
Hey kids, enjoy your training session on the big video game screen, it's the most you'll see out into space the whole trip.
Wow you can play galaga...
imagine doing this while colourblind...

Guests bring their own clothing aboard. They are not provided for free.
I would be so pissed if I paid 6k and this was what I got.
Are there more then one person playing captain? Or does the one captain does everything
I’ve watched literally all the coverage bc loser 😆 and I definitely noticed different actors in the 2-day media experience vs. the 4-hr blogger experience. Most obvious were the first order lieutenant and “Sammy” who were clearly different (older, shorter, different voices, etc.)
$6000 and 15.5% tax that makes it $7000
Looks like they already had another craft slam into the bridge at 0:50 :)
Is it something you can come back and do again later? It looks like it would be a fun arcade/escape room style experience.
Seriously, you could do all this in VR. The Darth Vader games have better light saber training than the "chase the laser" game. The game they all just played looks like the Space Pirates Trainer game on the Oculus.
All that standing/waiting and you don't even get to a fun ride.
Blue Banthas forever.
I’ve been to work team retreats less cringe than this.
This looks pretty lame, but the actors are doing a great job

Not for me at all.
Thanks for upload though
This is pretty cool but I mean there has to be more
Hot GAHBAGE!!
Blue Banthas Rule!!!
Oof that screen glitch at 0:50
Asteroids in 1979 cost me a quarter. Pass.
LOL this looks so bad. I feel bad for the CM. For $6000 I have played better games on my phone.

Spaceship with an EXIT sign Exit where into space. Good luck
Glorified shitty Arcade game
Great video that shows just how bad this is. Its sad that people are spending money on this.
6000? For 2 days ??? Wtf dose the space ship dose go up there for real 😧 lol elan musk charges less lol
This is so awkward and empty.
