Thank you for your video of our beloved Crete. Lots of useful information too. 👍
Thank you for this video, I'm going to move there in November and I'll definitely save this video. Thank you ❤
Lots of great info. Thanks!!
And Rethymno! Soo charming..❤
So glad you had a chance to shop, that dress looks gorgeous on you!
oh thank you! I can't wait to wear it!
@@DanaBerez in the next post 🤞😀
I enjoyed your video!! the island looks beautiful...
Hi Dana
Chania looks delightful, food looks great and your accommodation. The table at Pallas was rely special.
Thanks for sharing
It was truly magical a hidden gem and a nice place to visit outside of the typical Cycladic islands. We needed to have dinner at that table Al made sure we had a nice dinner there
Wow, thanks for the info…sounds like Chania, is ‘like, totally cute and adorable’.
Thank you so much for your vlog. It was so informative. We are going to visit Create and Chania in June. Your video was so helpful for us. Hope you will have fun in your future travels.
I’m so glad I found this I’m going in a week !!
Hi Lily! So excited for you!! Enjoy the video and be sure to check out my other videos as well as my blog danaberez.com for my other Positano/Italy posts.
Chania looks so charming!! i enjoyed your Greece videos so much!
Yay, I am glad you enjoyed!
That's not crete mate I'm from Greece China island is different it's not part of crete it's a separate island she's lieing bicth from Marcus in australia no comment needed or like.
Great video! I am going to Chania in two weeks - your video was really helpful :)
Great info
Al is the best travel partner so easy going 👍
He sure is ❤️
Thank you Dana for such a great little vlog. I have been going to Crete for many years as my cousin has lived on the island for 20+ years. It is so nice to see other people's take on my happy place. Chania really is a special place if one is interested in architecture, food & drink.
I miss Chania so much! I definitely wish I vlogged my time there. This is a fantastic vlog!
Crete one of my favourite islands! SOOO BEAUTİFUL! Lesvos island is very beautiful too
I've also been to Throumbi last week, those skewers with fried cheese are priceless
Your blogs are so precise and interesting thankyou. You are so beautiful
Great video, gave me idea to take a ferry to Santorini 💙
Yes! It’s not far at all
Loved the Greece video series. Thanks Dana, you did a fantastic job explaining and showing us everything. 😊
The largest island in Greece, Crete is a diverse and vibrant land packed with ancient ruins, buzzing cities and breathtaking beaches. Many people come here for the sun, sea and sand yet the best things to do in Crete include much more than the standard package vacation
love Greece... a like from me 😀
Yes it’s amazing
These videos are so useful. It takes out so much experimentation and leg work and money. I am still stuck with corfu. Stuck in a good way though
❤
wow
Love watching your vlogs Dana! Traveling thru you since we can't right now
Thank you for that!
FYI, you stated Elafonisi has the only sandy beach in Crete but actually in Chania (the very city you're in) the beach is sandy for miles and miles and miles. You guys were staying in Old Town but if you just go 5 mins, 10, mins, 25 mins you have nothing but sandy beaches.
that was weird. almost all beaches in chania are sandy XD even the ones in the town centre (Koum Kapi, Nea Chora)
I have seen lots of sandy beaches in crete malia elounda lepadra one i link near agios nikolaus
That's true because I've been to Crete four times different areas and Stalis is sandy x ❤
Crete would make a great second home, or first home :)
💙💙
great video! I have already planned our trip there for next summer so that was very helpful. I think you did the same itinerary that we have as well. going to check out your Milos video now.
That was fun. Love your videos ❤️
Yay!! Thank you always love seeing your comments
Here in Panama 100 kmph it's like your flying. Oh my God
Love from india,,,
Hiii. Falafel is a Lebanese food 😅 happy you liked it. All the love from Lebanon ❤️
Very delicious!
It's not exclusively Lebanese ,it's from the whole Levantine area and Egypt and Israel. But totally delicious .
@@conanthebarbarian69 yes your right
Thank you so much for sharing this! We’re going to Create later this year and we cannot wait. What time of year did you visit?
Hi thanks for the great video please can you tell me the brand of your clear glasses worn at the end of the video thanks
Thank you! they are from Heyware!
Thank you so much for such a great movie! 🙌I’m going to Crete in a few weeks, we’re staying in Rethymnon. What beach do you prefer - Elafonissi or Balos? What beach is most beautiful? 😊☀️🇬🇷
I would say they are both great but Elafonissi is a tad bit more romantic
thank you! This is so helpful. I’ll be going to Chania at the end of March. Your video is posted in October, but is that the month you traveled? I’m just a little worried it’ll be too cold to get in the water when I go.
I used to live in New York City myself. Love the mouse trap bill holder at the restaurant. 😆I would love to visit Crete one day.
ITS PROBABLY I VISITED TO TRAVEL VACANCES IN AUGUST TO ATHENS. I VERY LIKE GREECE.
Planning a trip in may to greece- wondering if I should do crete or milos!
any ideas?
Hey Dana... Thanks for the video. We will travel tomorrow to west Crete for 10 days. We did the east part just before the Covid. Any other tips that were not in the video..???
This is phenomenal. I’m traveling alone in August and can’t wait. Did I see you were wearing water shoes? Would you mind sharing what brand they are?
Hey! Me and my mom also are going to be in Chania this august ! Maybe we could meet some day ahaha
Hey! Me and my mom also are going to be in Chania this august ! Maybe we could meet some day ahaha
love this vlog, it's very detailed...except where are your eyeglasses from?
Omg loved as always… but let me tell you I was so excited to see that you had the baklava. Oh my God it looked so good and I’m sure it tasted even better. What excited me more if I ever go are those sweets you bought because I’m a huge sweets fanatic. Crete is definitely a must go destination. I had read somewhere and seen other vlogs that have said the same thing you stated that it is incredibly affordable. Which is definitely a huge incentive.
Yes!! So so affordable, our dinners were half of what we were spending on other islands in Greece. I also really enjoyed the city & being able to get to the beaches!
wow@@DanaBerez
Thank you Dana I loved touring Crete with you. You are so elegant yet relaxed in sharing these experiences. You have the Best vlog 💓 What is the vodka you & Al stopped drinking😉Are you saying Rocky? Looking to see more & more I'm a Fan😘✌👋
It was Raki and it was very very strong!
Thank you Dana💓🍁😊
Loved this.
Yes Raki is a killer!😆 In Turkey they drink it with everything too, we met a really eccentric boat captain who called it ‘Helicopter Head’ and did a little expression of being mad drunk. He asked us if we wanted to join him, we declined 😆
Ahh! It was so intense, LOL I stayed away the next day due to a massive hangover
Raki in Turkey is more similar to Ouzo in Greece and has a aniseed taste similar to Sambuca etc.. The raki in Crete is totally different in taste ,it's made from the pomace of grapes after harvesting . Just the name is the same but a different drink .
@@conanthebarbarian69 ah I didn’t know thank you xx
Turkish raki is not the same as greek raki, its like ouzo. A lot of people get confused though :)
It's called Tsikoudia in Crete, and yes different taste. You can get the honey one to take the edge off the bitterness. Still whack the head off you though 🤣
^ love your vid. Would you say it would be easy to get around Crete without a car? None of my parents or me feel comfortable driving in another country. Also are there bathrooms on Balos? lol.
Dana, you are amazing.. I have been watching your videos for 3 night now. LOL - I have some questions that I will address.. heading to Spain, London, France and Italy. What was it that you did not like about Spain?
How long does the test result come out for a covid test? Thank you!
@27:52 I can confirm, Chania Radio is lit. One of the best parts about driving in Chania aside from the amazing views 😁
Crete is amazing! Many greetings from Rethymno!
I can't stop looking at your makeup! Which foundation/ other product did you use ? Help a girl out :)
Raki should always be poured in the flower pots...😀
Ok
Hi! Can you share the name of the transfer company you used?
oh wow balos beach looks amazing, where did you buy the ticket for the boat trip?
They have a ticket booth on site at ferry port and I recommend arriving early
do you think elafonissi beach is better than balos beach?
Such a great video! My husband and I just booked a trip to Chania, and we are flying into Heraklion. Can you share the name of the transfer company you used? Did you use it both ways or take the bus back? If you used the bus I would also like to hear about that experience. Thanks in advance!
hey! did you hired a transfer to get to chania? i'm going in august and willing to take a transfer as well! thanks
Dana, love the crystal bangle! Can you share how to purchase?
ohh yes! It's a friends company I will link here: bit.ly/2ZUAiWq you can create your own words or you can select from the pre-made bracelets
@@DanaBerez Thank you!
What is the name of the falafel restaurant you went to?
You’re supposed to sip Raki. Also eating lots of appetizers to soak it while slowly sipping… I’m from Bulgaria and ours is called rakia.
Anyways, I love your travel vlogs.
Thanks for the tips!
Cefalu is a Greek name Κεφαλί (means heand) and is the part of magna crecia south Italy and Sicily is known as magna Grecia big Greece and have Greek roots and is very similar with the Greece with so many ways so what is this that you mean as a typical Greek island if you think that the Greek islands are only blue and white then you are faulse Greece has also so many colorful places 💛🇬🇷✨if you explore all the Greece you will anderstand .
How many days did u have to take covid test before going back to states.
Yes, 4 days- we took one in Chania.
Hey! I’ve just come across your channel. I’ve been contemplating where to go for so long now for a getaway and this video has confirmed it’ll be Crete! Love the chill style of your vids too. Xx
I am going to Crete ( Chania) on October 02 for 7 days .The beaches look challenging to get access there specially with my 82 years old mother . Any Suggestion ? From all the trips in Greece , how would you rate Crete ?
There's a town near by called agia marina. Big excessiible beach check it out. You can get a bus or taxi
@@triggercky9928 thank you so much for your input.
I suspect Rakii is for sipping not shots. That would explain your massive hangover. 😂😂😂
I'm going to Crete in September but I'm worried about all the crowds on the beaches. Especially post all the covid mandates 😖
I wouldn't worry but yes, many places will be more crowded than usual. In any case, enjoy your holiday!
venetian style habour in chania
So beautiful!
Do you need a car in Crete? Thank you!
If you want to explore the island yes
That was kadaif and not baklava
Ohh! Thanks for claryfing!
Are you sure you were in Crete 😁 hummus and falafel are more Arabic street food like Jordan ,Syria , Palestine or Lebanon.
Yes! I would highly encourage you to look into the history of Crete and it will make more sense.
Hi Dana, enjoy your own space 😊 I would like to follow can you please tell me his name to follow
Thank you Denise! Yes, it’s @alsenioespinal
Your video is awesome but please don’t make so lengthy just 15/17 min
Thank you! I appreciate you watching my videos and my channel.
I prefer longer Videos! Everyone is different. You can split it and watch twice. I save up the short Videos and watch two or three at once. Everybody is happy :)
Spoilt by this vloger focusing on her own face for too long
Really spoiled by your unwarranted comment on this video for information you didn't pay for. Keep it moving if you don't want to look at my pretty face. Be grateful I spent my time, holiday and money making a free video you can watch and make rude comments like this. Think twice next time.
Raki is also called tsikoudia in Crete
Called grappa in Italian
