Nigel brought his confidence to the floor and he sold this dance! We'd not seen Nigel do this kind of Latin before so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was brilliant. He really let go of those inhibitions tonight and it truly paid off. Katya is a brilliant choreographer and these two are very firmly back in the game. Can't wait for next week! 👏🏼
A return to grace lol.
Those in sync foot movements around 1.14 are so addictive to watch, Katya's choreography always stands out amongst the pros
1:13
@@lisar655 Salsa is not a traditional Ballroom/Latin Ten dance. Katya didn't choreo it. The bring in specialists for Salsa, Arg Tango, Couples Choice and Charlestown. All speciality dances as far as Strictly is concerned.
YESSS I'm glad someone else things the same thing
I couldn’t take my eyes off Katya. What a beautiful dancer !
If they keep this energy up, Nigel and Katya are shoe ins for the finals!
He's back... He's back! HE'S BAAAAAAAAAACK!!! I've missed him so much!! In the excitement of last week, I had forgotten how great Nigel is! Contender for the final, right here! He is amazing!
To be fair, he was stitched up last week. I have no f***ing idea how you're meant to jive in a bloody Batman costume lol.
They're back!
It was one of the best of the night. It deserved 9. They were very synchronized. And the choreography was great (Katya doesn't disappoint).
I don’t know if the pro’s choreograph these speciality dances, but generally no she never does.
As a salsa dancer myself hardly recognised most of the steps or moves it was dreadful
@@aljones75 Sometimes yes and sometimes no. But if she hadn't choreographed, she would have said so and in the VT they would have shown the choreographers rehearsing with them.
@@michelles2299 there was plenty salsa in there. and also they're putting on a show not just dancing at a club, it has to be entertaining.
So because you didn't recognise the steps and moves, the dance was dreadful? 🤔😒
The musicians are fantastic.
Wow very good massive improvement from his Jive. Brought his confidence and showed his pure dancing skills back to the dance floor! Loved it very much! He’s definitely one that I consider a very nice person and dancer. Katya brings out the best in her students honestly and she’s the best at choreography! ❤
oh my god! Katya is like the best pro! Loving Nigel's energy
He's improved so much from last week. Lovely performance from him today. I honestly love Katya's choreography. I just cannot take my eyes off her everytime when They both dance together 9/10
Obsessed 😍 last year it was Hamza and Jowita’s salsa in week 4 that became a favourite of the season for me, this year it’s Nigel and Katya
I thought katya and Nigel were on top form last night. One of my favourites. You go Nigel Harman. 💃💃💃💃
Judge' scores ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Craig - 8
Motsi - 9
Shirley - 8
Anton - 8
Total - 33
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing scores, really appreciated as don't have access to tv ❤
Katya is absolutely working her ass of with Nigel’s training and choreography She knows he’s a strong contender to lift the glitter ball
_I watched this like 5 times! My fav dance of the night! And huge credits to the singers_
He is absolutely gorgeous
Excited to see his samba now. Omg
Now this is more like it. Cannot wait for him to do the Argentine Tango, that'll be a whopper. Go on Nigel! 🤩
I agree, cannot wait for this dance he'll be just FAB-U-LOUS!!! 🕺💃😍
Gutted they are not in it anymore. Not bothered who wins now. They were the only reason I watched it… ❤️
Same here. I could not care less about the show now. He will always be my winner 🏆
Finally week 1 Nigel is back, I don't know why but I would love to see him do the Argentine Tango maybe the first one next week? 9/10
They look good to gather like Johnny and penny in dirty dancing
Really lovely,he would make a great James Bond
Now this is more like it!
Excited to see his journey throughout the series!🍹
Wow nigel you are back.that was fantastic.....😊
Fabulous! This man is amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nice song and routine. Awesome. ❤❤❤
1:13 to 1:20 was SPECTACULAR wow.
Absolutely brilliant! Wooooooooo 🎉
Suavemente! ....... This adorable man was the best artistic dancer of this series, unsure how the judges could not see that, especially you Craig. Nigel is a beautiful man inside and out, so unfair that he was brought almost to tears by the judges in some weeks when he and Katya delivered such amazing story-telling performances. Have loved him for 20 years, there is so much to love and have been longing for him to be on this show.. Thanks Nigel and Katya, you gave us a real blast, gorgeous people giving us a treat each week.
He's back in the game, I really enjoyed it
My favourites to win! ❤
Fantastic, slick, tight they brought it, they looked like a pro pair🤩😍
I loved this routine ❤
Fabulous...amazing!!
*appears out of thin air*
SUAVEMENTE
I like this dance.
Phew it’s hotting up this week @The_Griffins_99 for sure. This dance was on fire.
Favourite performance of the night. What timing and synchronisation! 🙂
Edit: Kudos to the singer and band as well for a great rendition of the song!
Brilliant, she is such a good choreographer and he was fierce
He genuinely is the most handsome man ever, the first time i ever saw Dennis Rickman i thought that. Still think it 20 years later. Well done Nigel ❤ this was brilliant
Absolutely loved this very well-executed, creatively-choreographed, hybrid, salsa-cum-paso routine with great costumes and authentic music.
That was spicyyy!!! Great hip action from Nigel, the choreo was much better than last week's Jive so overall improvement too. 9/10
Love the energy 💫
Great job Katya 👏👏
COME ON NIGEL YESSSSSS. He has so much potential to be a 10 dancer, so immensely proud. There were parts of this where he coulda hit the moves harder so I agree with the 8 but albeit YESSSS NIGEL
This was such an improvement from last week! 8/10
Absolutely stunning. So so good ❤
choreography is a dream
I was so gutted not to see Nigel bring his Charleston to the dance floor last week what a crying shame! Good luck with the pain of broken ribs lovely Nigel! I know that's no fun! 🥹🥹🥹 we will all miss you!
10 !!!!
Back in the game Nigel! Excellent routine!
Glad this made up for last week
Wow welco!e back Nigel! I was worried he'd only be a one dance wonder but this was amazing! Fingers crossed they keep going like this
Brilliant ❤🎉
My god this was stunning
Added to my 'Strictly Gorgeous' playlist which is about 50% Katya. Have a look!
Nigel is one hot cookie!
Very good Well done Nigel and Katya
Yessssss
He's giving Patrick Swayze
Nigel has improved alot from their last weeks performance on the dance floor
I wasn't expecting this. Well done.
I really hate when dancing shows' producers use music that is clearly another dance and expect the pros to choreograph a routine for a different dance style. This particular music is merengue and no amount of imagination on listeners' parts is going to turn it into a salsa. Please note that I say this as a former ballroom, salsa/Latin and swing (& west coast swing/hustle) dance instructor.
I felt the same about Amanda’s routine. The music just didn’t gel with the choreography.
You are absolutely right. I just don't understand why they do it? Do you know why? I myself have been a salsa dancer for many years and I've watched strictly - they never play the real salsa music. I don't understand why. I am aware that there is a sort of "rivalry" or maybe dislike between the ballroom and the salsa/ Latin community. But would that be the reason? That strictly producers take the "ballroom" side? What do you think, I'm curious
@@madambruja I didn’t know about the rivalry between Latin and ballroom, but I suppose it makes sense?! I’m not as knowledgeable as you with regards to ballroom or Latin dancing. I did wonder earlier if royalties had anything to do with it? But even so there must be hundreds if not thousands of tracks that could have been used for this dance.
@@sarahjones8396 What it is with regards to the "rivalry", I wouldn't actually call it rivalry now that I think about it. It's generally more that the latin ballroom culture (this includes basically the five dances - samba, cha cha, rumba, paso doble and jive) is more to do competitions and choreography and the fact that, If you look at the history of how latin ballroom developed, a lot of people say it is a watered down version of dances that have nothing to do with the real latin music, appropriated by non-latin people. And I can't really disagree, but I still love latin ballroom anyway :) Now with regards to salsa... Salsa has many different styles, there is Cuban salsa, New York salsa, Los Angeles salsa, Puerto Rican salsa etc etc. They are not the same, but they are definitely more similar to each other than to the world of ballroom, if that makes sense. Salsa is also known for its social dancing aspect, there are competitions, but it is more of a social activity.
This song is merengue, it is a different dance than salsa (completely different), latin and not included in ballroom.
I actually believe that the reason why Stricly tends to do a non-original salsa music is because they don't know about the culture. What I mean by that specifically is that if someone is not familiar with a certain culture, or doesn't have any connections to it (or any interest in finding out), it will be very difficult for them to find out the information. I think generally Stricly producers go for that more pop-latin sound, more digestible to what the audience is familiar with, although far, very very far in fact from the original. That is both to do with the music and the dance itself. Disclaimer: I am only talking in the context of salsa music/ dance. I think there was recently a dance to "Quimbara" which is a much better choice musically, but the choreography, although nice, wasn't necessarily very salsa-like.
You are right, I'm sure the royalties also play a role, but that's why they have people singing rather than playing the actual recorded track. Anyway, sorry for the essay! If you want to see real salsa, search Maykel Fonts, Johny Vazquez, Fadi Fusion, Ezgi Zaman, Tannia Cannarsa, Alien Ramirez. These are good examples. Brilliant dancers, but look for their couple performances rather than social dance videos. When they dance socially, everything is completely improvised in the moment, so everything you see will be not choreographed. But the performances is where you really showcase your skills so worth watching.
I Love them!!!!
First time I watched this my jaw hit the floor halfway through & stayed there till the end...
& he only got 33 for this!?
I was sure he had just edged out Layton who was just before him by like a point or maybe he would match him 🙌🏻.
Stumped he didn't score higher honestly but damn that was a great routine 👏🏻🎉!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
OMG this was amazing. A return to grace after Batman and Robin (we all make mistakes lol). I love it. Have a good day reader :)
He was injured last week.
@@VanessaDiRenzo didn't know that, but it's the nature of the business. Have a good day
I was not expertise this. Well done.
Loved that ❤
She also does this in heels, respect!
💃🕺 well done 👍🏼✅
he is so fit 🥵🥵
They were FANTASTIC!!!, I can feel the Patrick swayze vibe too Craig, let's get them doing something from "Dirty Dancing"💃🍉🕺🔥🔥
Super ❤
Wonderful
Score - *8/10*
And Nigel has returned to the show as a contender, amazing figure 8 and partnering in the lifts, it was such an ambitious routine pulled off very well, the side by side and the forwards backwards was so strong, slick and sharp, I loved the uniqueness with the lifts as always with Katya, so much rhythm and confidence it was unrecognisable from last week's mess in comparison. The only things that I would question is his free arm is being forgotten about in the movements he tends to just stick it on his hip and whilst I wouldn't call the ending a glitch it wasn't exactly the smoothest either, not as good as the Paso still, but a great performance none the less
Ok Shirley lol
@@oiooi6460you again! Do you ever get tired you old battleaxe?
@@pennyandfishy7241 lol pretending ur a dance expert. Sad
@@oiooi6460 ahh you see, that's where you go wrong, I never PRETEND to be an expert. I am NOT an expert, I am just an avid fan of the show that has picked up a wee bit from watching for many years and find it interesting. Also, all these people in the comment sections who started making reviews, me and scd observer started that trend, so if your gonna reply to me, give the others an OK Shirley too please 😂
@pennyandfishy7241 lol I bet u sit there with ur home made paddle giving out scores
I still think Nigel is the one to beat this year. He’s well known and liked as is Katya. He’s also very good. I think Strictly audiences skew older and he is a person who will garner votes from this audience over younger stars
Favourite
Miles better this week!! That was sexy salsa!! Katya's on fire tonight!!
NIGEL! HOT!
👌💕
Katy knows jow to get the best out of them😂😂😂😂😂
Now for me this was excellent. I think the only slight criticism is it felt a little start and stoppy at times so I wanted there to be more flow between the transitions. But that being said it was very good and the thing was the dance was fun exciting and everything a salsa needs to be.
8.
❤❤❤❤❤
Ok Nigel!!! This was so nearly perfection. Excellent rhythm and fluidity flowing through the body. The lifts really let this one down. They looked shaky and the dismounts were haphazard. 8
It was his first time doing lifts.
@@VanessaDiRenzo I know, but that doesn't change the fact it was the weakest part of an otherwise very good dance.
@@VanessaDiRenzoand? he still did them wrong he doesn’t get extra brownie points just because it was the first ones he did.
Only the second one. The first one was fine.
My faves!!! Mind you, Angela and Kai were knockout too
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊
Nigel is a good dancer
Come on! 😆
7 I love it
👏👏

Nigel makes me feel things....
I'm 25. eek.
There's nothing wrong with a bit a Dilf! 😋😍😍😍
Glad he came back strong after getting stitched up last week.
A definite improvement from last week! The lifts weren't the best though might have been best to leave the one out at the end.
👍

Finalist I say
I wish the scores were shown
Nigel Harman and Daniel Craig should be in a film or big TV feature drama together with Jill Halfpenny and the screenplay should be supreme.
