Tbh the only horrible thing we see Vegeta do is kill a Namekian Village (leaving 1 survivor) and eat some bug people. He didn't kill anyone on Earth at first, he killed Nappa, fought Goku, fought the Frieza force, etc, he only killed humans when he got controlled by Babidi. Imo he's more of an antihero than just a plain villain.
