It's not odd for people that work in the direct sun to cover up, sometimes even with a sweatshirt. I've seen people here in the desert with full sweatsuits on while landscaping or pool cleaning. Crazy. Not sure how they don't dehydrate.
I tried in 96 degree direct sun and this stuff WORKS! Washed with Chemical Guys Pink wash and followed the video, excellent results. Thanks for the video.
I am not sure what I did wrong, but I used the spray wax and had oily slime all over my truck and windows. I had to wash the truck again to get that off. I used maybe 4:1 water to spray. It was a bad disaster. Now I have spots all over it. I dont care what you call me, but please someone tell what went wrong. At this point I will never use this again.
I purchased this product for my new Tesla and I have to say it is incredible. So, first I rinse my car then I spray this stuff all over my car starting on the roof, hood, trunk, windows etc. Then, I wash my car and rinse, no spots, easy to dry and a great shine. Buy from the company direct its $19 plus shipping. I highly recommend this product. Great video by the way. Keep up the great work.

You were showing my situation just yesterday. Required an additional 1.5 hours more to erradicate the spots. Had to polish that mess out. Great advice on the product and thanks for passing on the secret.
I purchased Superior Formula 4 as advised. I have hard water and have no way to wash my vehicles in the shade. Water spotting is a serious problem! I used this product on my 2 vehicles yesterday. I washed both vehicles in the sun. The results were awesome!! This product is unbelievable! I must say that not much impresses me anymore at 65 years of age, but this product does. Thank you Scott for the demonstration of Superior Formula 4 Spray Wax, I watched your video twice. It makes washing a vehicle fun again.

Very good video! I've also found that certain shampoos with wax in combination with your "secret ingredient" buys you even more time for detailed washes in the sun. Keep it up Scott!
I just do a primary wash do get the grit off, then a quick follow up wash where I can move through panels quickly. During the first wash I just keep spraying the panels that were washed earlier to keep them wet. Once the second quick wash is done I just dry the car with a microfibre and get no spots ever. No need to neutralize anything
I'm a "newbie" detailer in Tyler, Texas and the heat here is no joke. Was trying like hell to find a way to get rid of the water spots on a lot of the vehicles and this video was a godsend. Thanks for the info.
You expected us to think... what are you new here?!🤣 Thanks for the info and the test showing results! I’m definitely getting some, washing a car in dry, windy, hard water Texas is a royal pain!
Lol awesome. I use dishwashing rinse-aid to help out too. Mix a capful into soap, wash, rinse and bam! Love thinking outside the box. Thanks Scott, you still and always will have me here ;)
Ok Scott, I did watch your video. I'm originally from Northeast New Jersey (approx 2 miles from where 911 took place), and a few months ago relocated here to NW Houston. I started doing some details down here and noticed a tremendous problem with the water spots. After trying to figure it out, I went on RUclips and found this video. I saw the product that you're in reference to on Amazon and they wanted I believe somewhere around $36 per gallon and I remember you saying that you bought it for 20 or $25 in O'Reilly. I located the nearest O'Reilly's to me and went and bought a gallon for $25. I saw the way you were spraying the wax on the car with a spray bottle and figured there's got to be a fast way to cover the whole car so I went on Amazon, again, and saw a pump sprayer for lawn and gardens (1 gallon) and decided to buy that. I figured a combination of a large sprayer and a diluted product would make easy for spraying the entire car. I wash the car in the hot sun yesterday (2/9/22) and there was the spots all over. I took my trusted sprayer and what I thought was my new found product and sprayed the entire car with it. Every inch of the car got wax on it. I started to dry it and saw that nothing was happening!!! My first thought was me and my friend Louie (Louisville slugger) what's going to have to take a ride to Dallas to see you in person 😃. The more I rubbedd the car, the more I was planning my route from Houston to Dallas!! But then all of a sudden, the water spots were gone!!! I still can't believe it!! Not only did it take away the water spots, but it also left a beautiful slick shine on the paint!!! Now I don't know how it is in Dallas but lately here in Houston we have a problem with morning dew forming on the car and after it dries it leaves all kinds of nasty stains. After using that product yesterday, as usual the dew formed on the car overnight, and after it dried there was no spots on the car!!!! Now keep in mind this is only one day and one night since I did this, but already I feel as if I will be adding this to my arsenal. I guess me and Louie don't have to come to meet you in person after all 😂😂😂 And as for your videos, they are informative, you do talk too much, you do have a problem with getting right to the point, but your videos help me so keep up the good work and I definitely appreciate this video. Had the local Oreliy order me one. It does a great job with water spots on the paint , and windows. Really cleaned up my metal bumpers on my 2015 Ram as well as the factory plastic rim covers after the initial cleaning. It's tough to explain but it behaves like a detail spray neutralizing cleaning residues as well as a typical spray wax leaving some gloss behind.. The factory rims on the ram always had a residue look after cleaning but with an application of this stuff they look really good. The key is to have 2 microfiber clothes . 1 to apply and the 2nd to buff the haze clear with.
We seldom have days as hot as in Texas, but Chicago's water is very hard and my car is metallic burgundy. I use a hose sprayer with a mixing reservoir. My first rinse is with white vinegar. My second is with Finish Rinse agent for dishes, which has a neutralizer for hard water plus glycerine. On a well maintained* paint finish, the water doesn't bead, it sheets off glass and paint. * I maintaint the paint semi-annually with Meguiar's Paint Protect after a Dawn wash in the shade. No haters please, it works for me.
In cases of extreme heat you should really wait to do something like that in the shade but if you can't help it it is best to stick with only washing one panel of the car at a time all at the same point you were constantly drying that car
Thx Scott for this secret of yours. it has made my life so much easier drying my cars. Keep make those high quality products, I'll always be a customer.
That is incredible... I use bead maker as a drying agent but still got a few water spots here and there because I would spray the whole car down with bead maker and than go around and dry.. Now I am going to use a quick spray wax before I do my final rinse to make the paint hydrophobic after my washes. Thank you for the brilliant advice

Thanks for the INCREDIBLE hot tip. I have a 2005 Black Dodge RumbleBee truck and she is no fun to wash. BUT, after I purchased the product you indicated I was blown away with the results. Not only was it easy to do but the results were just like in your video. No spots and no residue left over. Thank you ! keep doing the lords work my friend. Stay safe
How can we get Superior products in Qatar? This is available in Canada and US only. Can you please inform us what other product we can uise in Qatar so that there wont be any spots after car wash and after spraying the wax like you did in the video? Please suggest a spray which can be used in the same way. Thanks in advance
The active ingredient in Superior Formula 4 is Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS for short). You should be able to buy this in Qatar. I don't know the mix ratio (PDMS + water + emulsifier). Alternately, almost all car wash places - both the "do it yourself" and the ones with people wiping your car dry have a "spot free rinse" and/or "car wax" option might sell you some of what they've got, or maybe simply tell you what they are using, then you can go elsewhere and buy what they use. If you can buy Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax at your auto store, this is basically the same thing with some extras, at a much higher cost. It works, though.
@@mikefrey4406 Thank you for your response. Will try to figure out PDMS and will ask car washing people too so that can get to know the mix and once I try the same, will intimate you about the result.. hope it should be like what you have got in the video 😊😊
Tawi Dave Look at the way the Middle Easterners dress in the desert; 'Nuff said; It works! For short durations, go light (shorts, t-shirt, etc.) but all day affairs, fully clothed in the sun with light reflecting clothing is the win
it is only 77 degrees in the sun so how cold do you think it was earlier when scott started his day? geez some people. no common sense. a black car in direct sunlight whether it is cold or hot absorbs heat like a magnet and will dry a car very quickly. that's why it is important to get the water off fast. by contrast we humans need help to warm up on cool days. if you are making comments like that then you have no practical experience about everyday things and concern yourself with nitpicking. how about you just say "thanks scott. great video. i really do appreciate you taking the time to make it." if it were me i would just let them unsub and keep going cause you know you cant please everybody. if i were making a video to help people and all they wanted to do was whine and moan like babies i would be very discouraged about making videos cause who wants to be beat up like that when all you're trying to do is help others out.
Been using final detail for years now. It’s a easy wax to spay on and wipe off you car after a wash. A lot of people use it in the car show circuit, to give their car a nice shine, since you can use it anytime. I alway wash my car in the shade, because I like to take my time and do a good job.
Nah. He's been posting "quiz" videos where he shows a trick and refuses to explain what he's doing. Then people get pissed because they are busy human beings and are looking for a solution, not a waste of 10 minutes with no actual information. People don't come to these videos for brain teasers. He's just torching people so he can feel better about himself when in reality he has no clue why people are watching the videos to begin with.
Thanks for tip: on the PDMS oh meant that for Mark 11:10 tip! Scott I like your videos you give details that many may not appreciate. The tip that Mark offered was helpful because some times I do not have the time to watch the whole video.
That’s cool but if I were to be wanting to put a sealant on after my wash I wouldn’t want to use this right? It would interfere with the bonding of my sealant. What would u recommend that has no wax?
Detailing Breakdown wondering the same thing. Maybe a An Isopropyl Alcohol based solution spray wipe down after ?? But then again even if you get those water stains the products you’re going to use are going to wipe them right off
Thanks Scott! I always wanted to make my own "Pink Juice". We used to get a gallon of "Pink Juice" to detail our Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Flash forward, now I'm almost 70, but driving a 3500 Dodge Laramie, Black, And finally started detailing it myself. Finally, it's almost clean. Almost. Nothing is perfect. But I'm following your video's as I begin to learn how to take care of The Beast. I deliver on-site trailers and equipment to the Studio's. Clean and shiny counts, so our stuff has to impress. It lands repeat business. I'm slowly devouring your detailing tips and tricks. Every one has helped this Old Fart make more headway. I'm still afraid of a DA polisher, but who knows, maybe one day I'll get that brave. ;^) Thanks!
Dude, you gave a freaking anxiety attack. My heart rate seriously climbed about 10 points watching you leave soap on that black car in hot sun. I know that was your entire point, but I have a nice Black on Black Jaguar XJ here in North Carolina; no garage, an ongoing battle. Could not imagine this car in Texas - I have measured 155 degrees fahrenheit at the center front console. Forget dogs, these temps will frikase' humans in short order! Thanks for the tips

I have a black car and have issues with water spots right after rinsing off soap. I use a spray detailer while drying and works amazing. It's quick and provides protection. I use a spray wax after drying for added protection and shine since my car is black.
@@sweetshot_177 Settle down there, keyboard warrior. I probably have more years detailing cars than you have had birthdays. Microfiber does not get off the water spots that end up on your car from Texas water and sun.
I use rinse-aid in soap. They also have wash/wax combos, so possibly. Probably more effective if used after though. Rinse-aid should be mixed in soap though. Helps a lot on drying.

Now I am going to use a quick spray wax before I do my final rinse to make the paint hydrophobic after my washes. Thank you for the brilliant advice
I was more concerned about you wearing jeans and a hoodie in that hot weather
See I’m in San Antonio with a black Lincoln and need to do this when it’s 105 at 7pm I do t think this is gonna work
Darn it guess I will have to return the 5 gallons of liquid fabric softener that I bought
When you burn, You learn!!
0:45 if someone is so desperate to know his secret to avoid water spots at 3:00am when theirs multiple their Detail channels, they deserve to not be a subscriber and tests their true loyalty. Disturbing someone’s sleep or a non life threatening matter is beyond immature. Definitely block that caller ASAP💯
Excuse my ignorance on this but would any spray wax work in this capacity? Spray on, clean off, no spots...
Stay safe
This could have been a 5 min video easily.
He didn't wipe or dry the Thunder like he did the rest of the car
"Scott, you gonna leave the soap on there like that?"
"Yup." 🤣🤣🤣
Just dry it off with 2 step microfibre towels one for the first wet layer and after the second for the full dry layer to dry it off completely
What's your secret for keeping cool in the sun......, WEARING JEANS AND A HOODIE?
I wear a thin wool sweater in the Summer sun. Keeps me dry and cool.
I use an electric leaf blower to blow most of the water off, then a drying towel for areas that still are damp.
Me too blower helps out to get in those tight areas
KaBoom I just love it when a plan comes together
Been using final detail for years now. It’s a easy wax to spay on and wipe off you car after a wash. A lot of people use it in the car show circuit, to give their car a nice shine, since you can use it anytime. I alway wash my car in the shade, because I like to take my time and do a good job.
No big secret, just dont ever wash a car in the sun!
Yeah he'll make more money that way right? No
"Very few of us actually think". Way to torch your audience! On the other hand, candor is refreshing.
I usually go to the car wash and let them dry it afterwards then, I go back home and relax.
Dan Losgar lmfao
Love how your car caught the two Suns reflecting at different angles 😊👍👍
Skip to 11:10 if you want the secret
love ya
Thanks for tip: on the PDMS oh meant that for Mark 11:10 tip!
Scott I like your videos you give details that many may not appreciate. The tip that Mark offered was helpful because some times I do not have the time to watch the whole video.
Also notice he didn't wipe off the front fender, so it's not a valid comparison of water spots.
bro thank you lol there are 11 minutes of what not to do that was tripping me up
My man 👍🏽
watching soap dry on a black car is much more terrifying than watching paint dry on a wall
nobody:
Scott: Scott your crazy
RyeBread HD 😂😂😂😂
Scott, you are my hero. Period.
But then again even if you get those water stains the products you’re going to use are going to wipe them right off
67 buckets, 12 washes per bucket, then bed time. In Florida, it’s 137 degrees in the blazing sun, and water spots are my enemy.
Superior products have some real good multipurpose products. Great video man.
This is one of those truly special DIY tutorials.

Just ordered, shipping was only $13
@@davidcarmichael08 You must not live in Alaska.
I'm still afraid of a DA polisher, but who knows, maybe one day I'll get that brave. ;^) Thanks!
Could i use this to wash a car with, then apply aromr to the paint?
Great question!
Just ordered a gallon I have a Black car , truck, and motorcycle !!! from Superior
thanks scott. great stuff there and thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to help us. much appreciated. :D
Hello wayne
Dude, you gave a freaking anxiety attack. My heart rate seriously climbed about 10 points watching you leave soap on that black car in hot sun. I know that was your entire point, but I have a nice Black on Black Jaguar XJ here in North Carolina; no garage, an ongoing battle. Could not imagine this car in Texas - I have measured 155 degrees fahrenheit at the center front console. Forget dogs, these temps will frikase' humans in short order! Thanks for the tips
It's called formula 4 spray and wax not formula 1 🤣 thanks for the video👍
I put a little jet dry dishwasher stuff in my soapy water and it helps with the spots also.
Or you could just wash it in the early evening or in some shade
Exactly
This is for detailers....
Thanks Bud! I'm gonna give this a try !
Hey!
Big Shout out from North Korea,
We never ever wash our cars in the sun !
We don’t have a lot Black Cars here.
Hey James! What are you doing in North Korea? I thought Communist regimes mostly had black cars.
James Bond you ever see Americans in north Korea? Lol
@@Luppino2121 They no come here any more. :0((
I would definitely say have a good day thanks for coming on my page sorry you couldn’t stay, people can just be ignorant keep doing what you’re doing man.
Maybe I am from another planet!!!!

Scott, you ARE the man!!!
Thnx for all you do!!
Hi

Thanks Scott, I live in hot Florida and this is great advice. We can’t help but love you. I hear myself thinking he always seems to say what were thinking.
I’m in south Florida I feel the pain
I just dry the car off with a microfiber towel after washing. Spotless every time no matter what. No extra chemicals needed.
That's what I do, get it just damp enough and go over it. why make a mountain out of a mole hill...
I have a black car and have issues with water spots right after rinsing off soap. I use a spray detailer while drying and works amazing. It's quick and provides protection. I use a spray wax after drying for added protection and shine since my car is black.
Spoken like someone who has never owned a black car in Texas!
Steve Durman spoken like someone who has never used a microfiber towel. I don’t care what state or what color you car is numb nutz.
@@sweetshot_177 Settle down there, keyboard warrior. I probably have more years detailing cars than you have had birthdays. Microfiber does not get off the water spots that end up on your car from Texas water and sun.
So is this better to use than a water deionizer?
What if you mixed that in with soap? Would it do the same thing
I use rinse-aid in soap. They also have wash/wax combos, so possibly. Probably more effective if used after though. Rinse-aid should be mixed in soap though. Helps a lot on drying.
Well Scott I have watched every video from Pan the Organizer and several other channels on the topic of detailing but this video puts the rest in 10th place. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Now if you don't mind, what did you use to get those spots out please.
