I know it's over done but I would have to say Spider-Man. With how strong and smart he is Peter could've become a monster after Ben died. He shows the reader that he's still a human under the costume. And that even though something is hard you have to keep going.
I want too see a brutal rendition of petes story where he takes a darker route, still as a hero, but spiderman's strength would make it all too easy for Peter to maul the baddies, i think seeing a story where he doesn't hold back would be really interesting

While Superior is potentially an exception (Doc Ock in Spidey's body) it still showcases how much Parker holds back, in both power and intelligence. Noir, an alternate-universe, also does a good job at showing a darker side of Spider-Man. There was also a What-If story if the bullet had killed Aunt May back during Civil War arc, which caused Parker and MJ to sell their marriage to Mephisto... Parker goes dark side, and boy is it great.

Yeah Frank & Logan have been friends{sadly depended on who the writer was} It was 2 trades Hearts of Darkness with the Ghost Rider that showed that line. Frank also was friends with Moon Knight in the early days however with Marvel now don't know. Last series I got into was the Omega Factor with Frank, Spidey,& Daredevil that was 7-9 years ago I think.

I completely agree. Moon Knight is one of those characters that only a select few understand (same with the Punisher), Frank being one of them. Also, Cap trusts and respects Moon Knight - after Cap's death (when Bucky took over), Steve came back and asked Moon Knight to join his Secret Avengers. Now that's respect.

I honestly wish that many of these comic writers would understand the military mentality, Let alone the mentality that surrounds the special operations community. Frank Castle is a very complex character and not just a killing machine like most people want to represent him as. He has clear motivation based on his trauma and a anger that people could empathize with if they bothered to grasp that complexity.
Castle does not respect Spider-Man, he helped him a couple times but that is not respect, Frank used Parker as a human shield one time and he calls him "bug"

Actually two "heroes" I respect is Punisher and The Crow. Because in the same situation many would do the same things. They are the most human comic characters in my opinion. Granted being The Crow is technically a superpower, but I mean the whole "set the wrong things right" part. When a great injustice is done there might never be forgiveness. And to say that acting like Frank or Eric (and his "brethren") isn't human is neither right or wrong. Humans feel and hate, anger, revenge is just as much a part of that as love, joy and compassion. Another character I can sympathize/respect is Razer from Green Lantern TAS. Even with being driven by hate he did find love again. No one is just one emotion.
Outside of those 10, the nain ones missing are Wolverine, Ghost Rider (Dan Ketch), and Moon Knight. Now if we're counting Cosmic Ghost Rider (since thats Frank Castle) then maybe. Just maybe we can add Galactus as well.

(Actually Not kidding) Elektra Silver Sable Those I feel pretty good about. People that just miss my list James Rhodes- ok....I can see that. I don't know if I'd add that to my list but I won't argue. Daredevil...in the Netflix series yes. Otherwise I'll lean to know. But you can make a case for him. Fury Jr- No. Thor- they had a beer once. It certainly showed Thor respected Frank. Frank probably respected Thor too, but having a beer once might not be enough to make a top 10 list. Foolkiller - there was a version that Frank teamed up with once and they seemed to get along well enough. Deadpool. There was a miniseries where it seemed like they had some mutual respect. But I'm not having him on my list. Dr. Strange- They've teamed up twice plus a What If. Still leaving him off my list. Hulk. Two team ups. Hard maybe Spider-man. Like Daredevil, you can make a reasonable case but I'm leaving him off my list Demolition Man - hahaha. Not a chance. Unless he mistakens him for Daredevil or Wolverine. Then....still not a chance.

And to say that acting like Frank or Eric (and his "brethren") isn't human is neither right or wrong. Humans feel and hate, anger, revenge is just as much a part of that as love, joy and compassion. Another character I can sympathize/respect is Razer from Green Lantern TAS. Even with being driven by hate he did find love again. No one is just one emotion.
Outside of those 10, the nain ones missing are Wolverine, Ghost Rider (Dan Ketch), and Moon Knight. Now if we're counting Cosmic Ghost Rider (since thats Frank Castle) then maybe. Just maybe we can add Galactus as well.

Foolkiller - there was a version that Frank teamed up with once and they seemed to get along well enough.
Deadpool. There was a miniseries where it seemed like they had some mutual respect. But I'm not having him on my list.
Dr. Strange- They've teamed up twice plus a What If. Still leaving him off my list.
Hulk. Two team ups. Hard maybe
Spider-man. Like Daredevil, you can make a reasonable case but I'm leaving him off my list

So 2 that Punisher would respect, could be, and should be Wolverine & Deadpool. Deadpool for becoming a decent mercinary, having a more human side to him, with a softer side, can do very well to show gun game & intellect, if not the overwellming insanity which makes villians just give up. Wolverine due to his never give up attitude and toughness as well.
The wolverine should be on this list as well as OG Nick Fury, there's a instance where Logan warns Frank the avengers will be coming after him, and there's a punisher max issue where the OG fury asks punisher to go to Russia with 1 other special forces guy to save a scientists baby daughter with a flesh eating disease floating in her blood stream and He agrees to the mission because fury agrees to give him access to shields villian files, which just makes Frank's mouth water with anticipation, if, he can make it back.

I respect Deadpool yeah sometimes Deadpool can be a loose cannon because the reason I relate to him because I understand as a person what it's like to battle with cancer how do you have to stay strong for the ones you love and how sometimes you might have to give up the idea that you're going to die but when you survive it and you come back stronger you want to protect those and and I'll make sure they're okay by the end of the day and not only that it's best to live life like it's your last cuz you never know when you're going to go in a meeting about it that pulled does live like it's his last day on Earth and at any minute he could be defeated and killed eventually and believe me I put myself through a lot of crap actually lucky and thankful that I'm alive but that's why I respect that pull so much he may not see himself as a hero but I think a hero is someone that understands the difference between handling things peacefully versus sometimes you got to take people out of this world that are just straight-up not meant to be and also sometimes you got to give up your life even though others are going to be sad love you can always win the fight against something that's killing you
