It's because if Spider-Man dies then you know that real shit is going on. HIs like the last line of defense that should never be broken. No one else could have such impact. (Maybe on of the avengers, but let's be honest. It's Spider-Man. His the first in line to die.)

You couldn’t do it with any other hero aside from Captain America, and that’s not really possible when he’s the main character
Peter’s face as he’s dying is so haunting to me in this book.
This proves that regardless of the age of Captain America he can still go to distance with the best of them and say that phrase that made everyone get ready to fight Avengers Assemble💯🫡

I find it hard to believe that a half decent marvel (or DC) comic can be written in the past few decades. Unless theres been a major major and VERY sudden change.

I like how cap with the super soldier serum does get somewhat more towards his prime. I wonder if over time, the serum would actually help him regain his youth? Maybe it was only an mcu thing, but when he mentions his cells regenerate so fast that he cant get drunk, maybe they'd regenerate to the point he starts aging backwards into his younger prime self.
