Given the ISD is fairly fast in its stock configuration, I wonder how fast it would be if it lost a lot of its mass. Like most of the superstructure, everything forward of the hypermatter reactor, and most of the armor plating. Might make for a very interesting blockade runner/smuggling ship. Or just a really expensive drag racing ship.

I'd sell it and get a smaller and more tactical vessel within budget of operational lifetime costs and crew costs 'like' the X-70B (a sleek ship that passes for a wealthy civilian shuttle with a lot of hidden features)
I remember I had this old game for star wars called Rebellion from 1998 one time only ever playing the game both luke skywalker and Chewbacca where captured on the Death Star in that game randomly Luke would " discover " force potential in other characters . This happened while he was next to Chewbacca after this Luke had a showdown with his vader and died but Chewbacca escaped and killed vader and came back to me after escaping . He was way overpowered and I used him to free coruscant to end the game.

It was always hinted in the books that Booster had no problem at all with staff and resources to run a fully armed and operational Imperial Mark II Star Destroyer. However he did make it look like it was bare bones to any people looking at it. But anyone who knew what to look for could see it was heavily armed to the teeth and primed and ready to take on anyone and anything. The only time it was ever bare bones was the day he first got it back from the republic.
I'd sell it. Sure, a Star Destroyer is a massive display of force, and a beautiful trophy. But it's also a nightmare to maintain, as you already mentioned. Selling it to the right buyer, however, would earn you a pretty penny. An Imperial II class Star Destroyer is valued around 150 million credits. Even if you sell it for a 1/3 of that, I could easily afford and heavily modify ships that are easier to maintain. A Marauder class corvette, for example, or even an Arquitens or a Nebulon B. Of course, there's also always an "Old Reliable" option like the CR90. All of these would leave you with a significant balance to put into upgrades and modifications. You could build one badass pirate ship, and it would be much cheaper in the upkeep than an ISD.
An ISD is a bit much, and I'd probably sell it to the New Republic. If I had a privately-owned star destroyer to do mercenary stuff around the galaxy, I'd prefer a Gladiator class. If I wanted a big trading ship for use across the galaxy, I would probably see about picking up an old Acclamator assault ship. And if I was going to bring a version of the Errant Venture into Disney canon, I'd probably cross it with that unused double-decker ISD concept and have a lot of droid crew.
I don't think Booster cared about money that much at this point, but owning the whole star destroyer that he literally bullied into surrender offers so much respect and fame is something he valued more than money. The guy understood smugglers like no other.
Depends on my position, but if I have connections to a world I would probably turn it into an orbital defence station, possibly with a side role as docking port for trade and shuttles to the surface. A pragmatic choice, especially if you are lacking resources as maintenance of the engines and hyperdrive can be relegated to the back burner, also reducing the demand on crew complement. If I remember correctly this was also the fate of many earlier star destroyer type ships after the Ruusan Reformation. Additionally if the ship is never to be moved from orbit you could make a fortune selling the hyperdrive and use that to purchase a wing of starfighters for additional close in defence.
Id probably split into sections, a small libertarian total free trade zone, a legal trade zone (largest part), the command decks and private community, entertainment districts, most of the money would probably go to fuel, maintenance, and security but Id imagine it'd be a profitable mobile mini city (37k capacity with 7k crew). Just hit up all the most profitable ports on a semi regular basis. Id probably strip it of most weapons and circuit the safer trade lanes.
Great Vid, i loved the references to how hard it was for Booster to get that much red paint. I think one of my favorite lines from him is how he "Swears the emperor only made factories to make that much white paint just to spite him." or something along those lines.
I would rather have a Lucrehulk that ship is made to be maintained and operated by droids, plus the amount of cargo space would make it easier to stay profitable.
If I had a fully operational ISD that fell into my hands, I'd probably use it as a base of operations to do raiding for the NR or anyone willing to hire me.
The idea of Starfleet parting with a Galaxy-Class would be crazy. Already a ball ache for anyone to even own anything formally Starfleet. Even an Oberth is a pain to buy and privately-own one. I'm not saying they don't exist. It's just unlikely. Even if a Galaxy-Class is basically a military cruise ship. And removing all that military sensitive tech and it becoming a private giant cruise ship. It would not be hard. Just unlikely. Unless some big eared genius makes some "donations" for a presidential candidate and ask for a favor in return, if they succeed. And if not. Expect that money back, with interest...or else. And yes, Starfleet is a military. No matter how hard they try to deny it.
🤔 . . . I’ve expressed this before, but I’d strip down those ships as much as possible, leaving only the outer hull, much like the Gallofree GR-45 & GR-75. However, it was primarily a guess of what Moff Gideon was hiding, but that doesn’t mean that some Imperial Remnant forces, on their way to becoming the First Order, wouldn’t convert Imperial Class Star Destroyers & larger vessels into runaway cargo container carriers that’ll jump into hyperspace when unauthorized ships approach.
If I had a fully operational Star Destroyer, I'd of course make my number 1 top priority on making the ISD have automated systems, similar to how the Rebel Alliance took the Dreadnaught-Class and turned it into the Assault Frigate. That way I can limit the amount of crew needed as much as possible. Second priority would be to strip the side turbolasers and replace 6 of the 8 with heavy laser cannons. Then strip the ion cannons for light laser cannons. Last thing would be turning the rest from a warship to a space village. Strip a lot of the unnecessary warship decks and whatnot for fabricated and artificial places for livestock and farming. Replace the unnecessary crew areas with storage for supplies. Basically make the ISD into a well-defended armed space village.
Imagine the tech smugglers would use and smuggle in a star trek and star wars crossover where the q never bothered closing the wormhole to the star wars galaxy after empire fell.
I would turn my own ISD into a way station for far-traveling spacers, merchants, and other private or commercial flights in high-traffic space. Get your service! Get your repairs! Grab a bite! And peruse our stock of quality used parts and hardware from across the galaxy!! Please remember it is your responsibility to maintain your vessel’s space-worthiness according to regulations both at origin and destination. Sales of parts are concluded solely upon approval by certified technicians. No refunds on daily specials. Enjoy your stay, and then have a safe flight! Until next time!
If I had the resources to get it to the point where it's well known and starts bringing in an easy profit, then I'd keep it. If not then I'd sell it off and buy an acclamator, and use the remaining funds to fit it with hidden weaponry similar to the retractable guns on an arcquitens, buy a bunch of droids to run basic maintenance, move the bridge further down into the hull and really pad out the armour. Oh and the fastest and chunkiest hyperdrive I could find, and make sure it's the most armoured part of the ship. You get plenty of cargo space for smuggling and hopefully enough protection around the bridge and hyperdrive to allow a fairly reliable escape if caught. You can park it on planets if you need to, or use it hold a small group of starfighters.
I run a SW5e tabletop campaign in which my players have done this with an Arquitens Command Cruiser. As far as I am aware none of us knew about this ship beforehand.
I’d convert my star destroyer into a luxury cruise ship with an attractive paint job, renovated rooms, luxury restaurants, theaters, and a shopping mall. The area called the Diamond Level would be crew, military and security only, the rest of the ship would be for people on vacation and those who dock for trading/resupply.
Hey! I know you probably won't see this, but are there any plans to remaster your Star Wars vs Star Trek 2 parter? I'd love to see a new version with everything you've learned about trek AND wars, along with any additional ideas you've thought about since making it!
This is why after Disney reintroduced Thrawn, I was hoping for the return for the return of the likes of Talon Karrde (honestly, my favorite chatter in the expanded universe) and Garm Bel Ibis, though nowadays I'm almost afraid of what Disney would do with/to them. And as an aside, last year I bought the Lego deluxe Star Destroyer, partially to build it, partially so I can use the plans to hopefully build the Errant Venture.
This was'nt the only red star destroyer in legends. There was an entire fleet of red Victory Class Star Destoyers that were red instead of white, numbering 200 strong, after Endor this fleet fell under the command of an imperial warlord
Star wars X-Wing Series: The Bacta Wars Now i will have to go back and read the series again. I just gave my son the first book to read. All of what happened that led Bosster to becoming the manager of the Yagdul station which led to him becoming captain of the Errant Venture is in the Bacta War book. Not the best book of the series but still a good read.
If I had an Imperial Star Destroyer, I would try to get the license and all the documents from the New Republic to establish a shipbuilding company and also, in conjunction with this, a private military company. Just imagine, a dark gray camouflage ISD with blue and white lines and an identification mark in the form of a golden lotus.
if an Imperial II just.... FELL into my lap like the Venture did Booster's. I would probably broker a deal with the New republic to replace the thing for a pair of Vindicators. Smaller, more easily staffed warships that would lose far less of it's overall armament to make them "Civilian Legal", and still support a full squadron or two each. As for overall purpose, PMC/Merc Work, hopefully getting a hold of a couple Frigates (won't say no to some Gladiators or Broadsides) and some Corvettes to round the fleet out. Controversial hot-take, making up for lack of manpower with refurbished B1 and B2 Droids.
first thing todo is to give it a massive obscene paintjob, either noone will bother to redraft it into millitary service or you'll get one hell of a laugh if it does end up on a battlefield
It sounds to me like Booster was operating it kind of like how one might operate a Drake Kraken. I think it is much the same as I would operate it. Although I would very likely keep weapons systems as operational as possible, and supplement those with support craft, in order to offer a solid defense and safe harbor from say, pirates, or those most terrible of scum what try to pop our rock crunching miner friends, and other such civilian ventures. So I'd say it would definitely be an Outer Rim venture. Maybe even paint it something nice and distinctive, make it a real symbol of the Outer Rim.
Correct. Booster is the father of Mirax Terrik, whom Corran marries. Booster is also the sworn nemesis of Corran's father Hal Horn, making his relationship with Corran strained at best.
I honestly wouldn't know what to do with it. Giving it up to the New Republic does seem like the most logical option but I don't see much fun in that. Might take me some time to think about that.
I would go the mercenary route but also a little bit of a mobile trade hub and offer my services to the Mandalorians more often compared to other people.
In a civilian position I would trade it for a pair of Vic 2s and only regularly operate 1 but regardless I would use it or them to lay siege to Madalore and later the rest of madalorian space and then slowly build a new madalorian empire to wipe out the Galactic Empire, New republic, what remains of the sith. The only exception to this is if Thron leads a campaign instead of republic at the time, which, then I’ll join him.
If I "acquired one" ild, probably sell it and buy a fleet of Arquitence cruisers (mandolorian versions with decent sized hanger) and go create a new warlord faction
If i got my hands on an ISD i would trade it with one of the Imperial Factions. You get this Fully Operational ISD. In exchange i want one each of your functioning Mothballed Venators and Acclamators and the difference in credit Value between our trade objects. The Venator would be my Black market Bazaar Ship. The Giant Hangar is perfectly suited for the market itself and the Starfighter-Bridge could serve as a Tower to coordinate departures, arrivals and deliveries. The Acclamator would serve their role as a giant Cargo Ship carrying the Wares sold on the Venators Hangar. A Sale is made on the Venator, once payment is received the buyer can dock with the Acclamator and take delivery of it. That way there is no chaos where the sales are beeing negotiated and payment can be safely ensured before handing over the goods. Both ships also make more tactical sense. In times of Galactic Civil war no faction can truly ignore a fully functioning ISD lounging around in their Borders. With an ISD you just draw too mich Suspicion/attention. Venators/Acclamators on the other hand are a significantly smaller threat. Despite probably beeing somewhat out of date the Ships still have teeth though. Shields and Weaponry strong enough to ensure no small band of thugs can one over you and Class 1 Hyperdrives so that if you happen to be outgunned you can just book it very quickly. Unless they have an Interdictor, but at the point where Organizations with that advanced equipment want your head you've already proven you either don't know whom to bribe or when you Overstayed your welcome. Initial Crew recruitment cost and stocking up would be covered by the credit difference paid by the buyer. Which, if im Correct would be at least something like 70 Million Credits. That should cover it with ease.
I would argue that the _Executor_ is more famous than both _Errant Venture_ and _Chimaera_ and for some even the _Avenger_ is more well-known, but that might be if you're grouping all the sizes together. I'm actually writing a story where a Hutt has managed to purchase four _Super_ Star Destroyers and one Death Star from the old Galactic Empire. Each SSD serves a specific purpose and the Death Star has been converted to a casino + tourist resort.
0:10 Though to be fair to him, he did say star wars legends, not star wars as a whole. Also star destroyer rather than super star destroyer. Because the Lusankia (I know that ain't how it's spelled.) would be more famous than it.
Love the hologram exterior, reminds me of Eve online's Minmatar Refinery Outpost. Animated holo-signs advertising beverages and umm entertainment options for all tastes? There might have been a pole involved but I swear honey I never docked there I went to the nice reputable Gallente tower instead! No! I didn't get the Fedo massage! Ewww!
It's x1000 more interesting, engaging and creative than new trilogy. And that's why it's not "Legends" but real Star Wars for me. I consider this canon and not bad fanfics Disney tries to sell.

I’d love to see a short or comic of Thrawn ordering the custom paint job on the chimera
How in the heck have I never heard of this
It was always hinted in the books that Booster had no problem at all with staff and resources to run a fully armed and operational Imperial Mark II Star Destroyer.
@@nerowulfee9210 plus the mobile Vegas hotel idea probably wouldn't have worked so well on a smaller and less famous ship class
That was awesome! Well worth the wait! Very cool.
Great Vid, i loved the references to how hard it was for Booster to get that much red paint. I think one of my favorite lines from him is how he "Swears the emperor only made factories to make that much white paint just to spite him." or something along those lines.
DeathStarNevada. What happens on starship...stays on starship....or is jettisoned into space after use.
I would rather have a Lucrehulk that ship is made to be maintained and operated by droids, plus the amount of cargo space would make it easier to stay profitable.
I love these videos
I have always loved the idea of the Errant Venture and its stories.
*writes this down* I am going to "barrow" this for my future Star Wars RPG game, lol.
There is a LOT of stuff you can use in the Legends books.
Oh man this goes back to the '90s! does this ship appear than more than just the one X-Wing novel?
Several of the New Jedi Order books, and a few of the comics, i think.
And I Jedi, and some of the Legacy of the Force books. Briefly in the Union comic.
If I had a fully operational ISD that fell into my hands, I'd probably use it as a base of operations to do raiding for the NR or anyone willing to hire me.
I'd probably go pirate/mercenary
Could you imagine a "privately-owned" Galaxy-class could afford a smart smuggler?
No matter how hard they try to deny it.
be worthless
@@fuzztsimmers3415 Why?
This ship was very likely, part of the inspiration behind the Kraken Privateer and Banu Merchantman in Star Citizen.
Amazing video! Blew my mind!
I love legends.
Video on Night Caller?
I’ve always wondered about this ship. I have one of these I got from the Star Wars pocket model series
Imagine the tech smugglers would use and smuggle in a star trek and star wars crossover where the q never bothered closing the wormhole to the star wars galaxy after empire fell.
what was those fighters you used in the beginning and end of the video
Those are Sosrosuub Preybird assault fighters, rare and used by pirates.
I would turn my own ISD into a way station for far-traveling spacers, merchants, and other private or commercial flights in high-traffic space.
Get your service!
Get your repairs!
Grab a bite!
And peruse our stock of quality used parts and hardware from across the galaxy!!

And as an aside, last year I bought the Lego deluxe Star Destroyer, partially to build it, partially so I can use the plans to hopefully build the Errant Venture.
ha! its like using an aircraft carrier for a cruiseliner
I wouldn't want Fizney to screw up such a awesome Expanded Universe ship
I second that.
Cool
If i had a star destroyer I would re-install the guns to actually give balanced coverage! XP
I hate the gun disposition!
Be sure to stay in the outer rim. As the new republic does have an armament limit on civilian ships.
@@marrqi7wini54 Oh sure, then the Vong invade and im at the disadvantage, screw that! XD
Yo the new RUclips thumbnail format is interesting. All the thumbnails have rounded corners now
now this is what the star wars hotel should have been, a smuggler owned, falling apart star destroyer you stay at
Booster's pride and joy.
This was'nt the only red star destroyer in legends. There was an entire fleet of red Victory Class Star Destoyers that were red instead of white, numbering 200 strong, after Endor this fleet fell under the command of an imperial warlord
Was all that really from a blog post? I can't find any novels, graphic or otherwise with the GM. Video games? Is it really all just from a blog post?
@@BassicBear Look for Crimson Command.
Wonderful video. Came from empyrion content
Star wars X-Wing Series: The Bacta Wars
Now i will have to go back and read the series again. I just gave my son the first book to read. All of what happened that led Bosster to becoming the manager of the Yagdul station which led to him becoming captain of the Errant Venture is in the Bacta War book. Not the best book of the series but still a good read.
I would use it as a flying shopping mall
The "LUU-shankia" not the "LOO-shankia"
I'd turn one into a giant toterhome basically. One big self-propelled space mansion.
I will go for a super star destroyer because imagine how much you can do with that one
first thing todo is to give it a massive obscene paintjob, either noone will bother to redraft it into millitary service or you'll get one hell of a laugh if it does end up on a battlefield
Seeing this thing in the mandalorian would be interesting yes.
Id go merc with it or carve out my own micro empire
Great video, hands down my favorite imperial star destroyer
It sounds to me like Booster was operating it kind of like how one might operate a Drake Kraken. I think it is much the same as I would operate it. Although I would very likely keep weapons systems as operational as possible, and supplement those with support craft, in order to offer a solid defense and safe harbor from say, pirates, or those most terrible of scum what try to pop our rock crunching miner friends, and other such civilian ventures. So I'd say it would definitely be an Outer Rim venture. Maybe even paint it something nice and distinctive, make it a real symbol of the Outer Rim.
I think I’d land the SD on some beautiful, scenic planet and make it into a famous resort.
I would turn it into a more civilian cruise ship ,or try to become a private protection force like the mandos were doing in the mandalorian
Booster was actually Corran Horn's father-in-law if I remember correctly.
Correct. Booster is the father of Mirax Terrik, whom Corran marries. Booster is also the sworn nemesis of Corran's father Hal Horn, making his relationship with Corran strained at best.
Definitely sell it, buy some beskar and use that to leverage my way into a Mandalorian clan. ;)
I honestly wouldn't know what to do with it. Giving it up to the New Republic does seem like the most logical option but I don't see much fun in that. Might take me some time to think about that.
If I had a fully operational star destroyer, I would sell it to buy a VCX 100 and kit it out with the best gear, and still have plenty on the side
The only exception to this is if Thron leads a campaign instead of republic at the time, which, then I’ll join him.
do more eve please
Teradoc's Crimson command has Red SDs took afaik
If I "acquired one" ild, probably sell it and buy a fleet of Arquitence cruisers (mandolorian versions with decent sized hanger) and go create a new warlord faction
If i got my hands on an ISD i would trade it with one of the Imperial Factions.
You get this Fully Operational ISD. In exchange i want one each of your functioning Mothballed Venators and Acclamators and the difference in credit Value between our trade objects.
The Venator would be my Black market Bazaar Ship. The Giant
Hangar is perfectly suited for the market itself and the Starfighter-Bridge could serve as a Tower to coordinate departures, arrivals and deliveries.

Though to be fair to him, he did say star wars legends, not star wars as a whole. Also star destroyer rather than super star destroyer. Because the Lusankia (I know that ain't how it's spelled.) would be more famous than it.
May the horse be with you!
Ewww!
Honestly I'd demil the thing and probably set up a factory or something in there, colony ship maybe.
It's x1000 more interesting, engaging and creative than new trilogy.
And that's why it's not "Legends" but real Star Wars for me. I consider this canon and not bad fanfics Disney tries to sell.
