Not sure, if Nick said 35 years somewhere. But, this is one thing I know he did say:
"If Nikola Jokic wins the MVP, he's the worst player to win the MVP since Dave Cowens."
Nick said this in 2021, right before Jokic was crowned MVP the first time. Dave Cowens won MVP in 1973, so that's 48 years.

"Still I wonder how Luka & Jokic would’ve done if they switched teams"
We can wander, but then we should keep this in mind: by playing the way he did, and by influencing the locker room the way he did, Jokic literally changed the culture of his team and transformed it to what we see today. Meaning: if you would switch Luka and Jokic, you would have to give Jokic another 5, 6 years in Dallas and only then look to his results.
And well... this would also apply vice versa, to Luka. And I would be a bit afraid of the result.

Dennis Johnson won a ring in Seattle when he was the best player on the team. Then won 2 rings with the Celtics when he was not the best player on the team. To say Duncan became an all-time great in 2003 is a disrespectful statement. He was first team all nba his first year and he went to have the best record in the NBA in his second year and had arguably the most dominant playoff run ever. It was a shortened season but what he did was unparalleled. He beat Garnett, swept Shaq and Kobe, swept that deep Blazers team with guys like Rasheed, Sabonis, Stoudamire and Brian Grant. And finally he gentleman swept the Knicks with Ewing, Allan Houston and the crew. The next couple years, it was just Shaq and Kobe’s years and he competed against them in those years. There are some guys that are legends the moment they walked into the league. Guys like Jordan, Bird, Shaq are like that and even Magic. You know they’re up there already before a full season of NBA basketball. Duncan was like that he was already up there in his 2nd year. I don’t think anybody disputed him as the best in the game in 99 because he left nobody in the discussion. Karl Malone choked once again despite winning the MVP. Duncan came in 3rd in that by the way in his 2nd year, lost 2 games the whole playoffs and dominated everybody including Garnett, Shaq and Ewing, guys who are all-time greats that he faced in their matchups.
Now his 2003 season is even more legendary. You could argue it’s the greatest individual season ever. Best record in the league with 60 wins, MVP and all defensive first team, beat the Suns who had Penny, Stoudemire, Shawn Marion and Starbury not to mention Iso Joe. Dominated the best version of the Shaq and Kobe Lakers. This wasn’t like the Detroit series which they choked. This was the best version of Kobe prime Shaq ever played with and they got outclassed by Duncan. Beat Dirk and the Mavs and beat the Jason Kidd led Nets and had the greatest defensive series any individual has ever had in the history of the NBA. But to say that’s when he became an all-time great is ridiculous
Dude, u selling it like a salesman means that u lying a lot.
In 99
Avery led the Spurs in points in the series vs Wolves.
Vs Lakers TD led by far in points.
Vs Blazers D.Robinson led in both points and rebounds ahead of TD.
In the Finals
Knicks had no bigs to compete and TD naturally took over in PPG.
00-02 for 3 YEARS straight TD got destroyed by Shaq and Kobe especially Kobe who was a nightmare for TD in all their series matchups when they met in the Playoffs.
In 03 was TD best season Overall even if the regular season was a Spurs thing more than a TD thing bec Kobe avg way greater during the season and that's factual.
Nick Wright is good at arguing but too stupid to understand the value of a complete player like duncan. Someone that consistently gives you a tremendous advantage because of court awareness and amazing hand eye coordination. Both duncan and Jokic play in such a way that Nick us too low level of a thinker to understand. He needs stats because he’s kind of dumb
This is such a crazy comment. Duncan in 99 was solid but far from a carry. And 2003 was not peak Kobe Shaq, it was clearly 2001 which is arguably the best version of both players and guess what, they swept Duncan. If anything the graphic is disrespectful to Kobe who had an all time great postseason run in 2001 but apparently wasn't an all time great up until 2009??
Duncan is the most overrated player ever
This is where the hating is clear in Nick. Because Giannis had nearly the exact same 3 year run ‘19-‘21 as Jokic 3 year run of ‘21-‘23. Giannis got a DPOY to add to it but he also has had a much more poor performance than Jokic has overall in those 3 years in the playoffs. But when Giannis won the title Nick put him in the top 13-15ish range and over KD but Jokic is just 20-22 for him
That Pressure finally broke Jimmy, had a Hole in the Bucket
I'm a Denver fan but nothing but respect for Butler and the Heat. There's only so much you can do ... and Jimmy carried them to the finals. Aaron Gordon is a very good defender and Heat just had a nightmare facing Jokic and Gordon in the paint.
I guess nobody is going to talk about how nick hasn’t won a game since starting 12-0 🤣🤣🤣

Nick still needs to answer for putting doncic as the 20 best player in the last 50 years and leaving jokic completely off the list. He keeps saying how he’s just holding him to the standard of every other great player but he doesn’t keep that same energy for doncic
Nicks comments about looking back on Jokers MVP awards being the worst ones in league history are looking pretty stupid right now. Embid getting it this year was a sympathy award because he was crying about it and they didn't want to give it to Joker a 3rd year. These analyist are looking pretty dumb right about now.... yes it is a regular season award but that doesn't change the fact that they got it wrong. Nick and the media owes Denver a public apology
No they don't. In terms of Jokic, I feel like it's fair to warrant having 3 back to back to back MVP's you should at least reached the finals once. As far as coverage of the team, they've had multiple early play off exits and had never won a championship before this one, they had an unmarketable star and an injured 2nd option prior to this season. I am happy for Denver, but they had possible the easiest run to the finals in recent memory. T-Wolves, Suns team in disarray, A Lakers team with a 40 year old superstar playing with a bunch of teenagers and an 8 seed missing their 2nd best player. Nobody really cared, if people did care than the media would talk about them thats how ratings work, the disinterest from the fans is literally half of it.
@@1zxtvBoy, that's some revisionist history if I've ever seen it. Did you not pay attention to the amount of hype the media gave the Suns and the Lakers? How about "the next Kobe Bryant" Jimmy Butler and the underdog squad? But I guess you're going to write off one of the most dominant runs in NBA playoff history with "They played a bunch of pushovers" no wonder you're defending Wright. I'm pretty sure this dude was talking about Wright's "worst NBA MVP" take (would love to see you try to defend that) rather than Jokic not winning 3 MVP's. Saying "the media doesn't cover the #1 seed cause the fans don't care" isn't the great point you think it is. Quite an indictment of the NBA fanbase. If you like big cities, drama, and storylines, then go watch reality TV, I don't think athletic competition is your thing.

It wasn't that bad actually. He kicked his leg out but Gordon would've been in his landing space anyway. It's the corner three and Gordon's feet were outside of the three point line at one point. There is not enough space for that. Y'all too focused on Jimmy kicking his leg that you come on here and make an irrelevant comment.
Ninety nine percent of us think it’s a relevant comment. Nick and Butler losers both, that’s relevant.

4:26 Nick Wright didn’t even dispute or even try to challenge his colleague’s simple identification of Michael Jordan as the “Greatest Player of All Time.” Wow! And yesterday, on June 12, 2023, Nick Wright finally conceded to the reality that LeBron James is locked in forever as the #2 greatest player ever. He said that Kyrie Irving, “won the 2016 title with arguably the best player ever or the SECOND greatest player ever.” Before LeBron James was swept for the 3rd time a few weeks ago, Nick Wright would never ever even slightly suggest that LeBron James was NUMBER 2 on the list of the greatest NBA players ever. All of the lying and stretching and hoping and the trying to force LeBron into the goat position, and all of the fantasy and pretending that LeBron was even close to Michael Jordan’s level has finally been beaten and forced out of Nick Wright’s defeated and deflated body. The next GOAT debate will be Michael Jordan first three-peat vs Michael Jordan second three-peat. My oh my have things changed in the basketball world and basketball fandom since that legendary sweep of LeBron James and the Lakers by The Joker and the Nuggets.
The closest we got to mj was kobe.
It’s a pointless argument. No one is going to change their mind.
@@jasonjones8938 he’s trolling lol
No cares about a sweep in the WCF.....
Lebrons still the 🐐
Bro Chris literally switches teams so fast it’s crazy. He chose golden state, then lakers and now he saying he chose DENVER all along pleaseeee. You were wrong on every pick but the last.
Wildes and Broussard = Men in Black.
Great best centers list. I think i still have the admiral slightly above him though
I know Wildes planned the synchronized look and sunglasses if Nick said “you guys were right”and it was gold 🤣🤣
How do you celebrate picking the obvious clear favourite lol
Because of who the other guy is
I can't stand Nick's argument about someone not being an all time great then winning a ring and all of a sudden he is. Brou is right, he is an all time great with or without that win last night. You can say hes even higher on the best players ever rank but he was an all time great after game 4....not just after they win.
the nuggets feel so much like the tim duncan spurs. they set the pace, never get too up or down and winning seems inevitable.
Dang kobe wasn’t an all time great till 2009 I guess 🤣 the first 3 rings and averaging 35 for a season wasn’t enough. 🤣
Shannon is a legend, but this show is soooo much better, i have no idea how undisputed still gets 3x as many plays
Did they just left out Kawhi Leonard by accident or?
Nick Wrong.
Love this show. Great debate and great chemistry between the gents.
I’d add Garnett in 2008 to Nicks list of all time great
Nick Wright was absolutely toxic when it came to Jokic --> eg. that he was the worst MVP in the last 35 years, that awarding the MVP to Jokic devalued the award, that Jamal Murray and MPJ weren't good enough players to explain Jokic's second round and first round exits in the playoffs in 2021 and 2022 when they were missing, that Jokic's low draft position for the All Star game proved that his peers did not respect him, Jokic not playing in the 4th quarter of an All Star game showed that he was not trusted in crunch time etc... And the whole time he kept blowing himself up that he was right all along about Jokic
At least Skip Bayless went after the biggest name in the sport in LeBron... Wright was vindictively targeting a quiet foreigner for whom English is not his mother tongue and who is not blessed with the sort of athleticism most others NBA players have and who played for a franchise that had never won before... Little chance of that gamble blowing up in his face, or so he thought
Wade should have become a member of "the all-time great club" in 2006 when he won the Finals MVP in his 3rd season and won the franchise's first championship with a great stat line:
34.7 PTS
7.8 REB
3.8 AST
2.7 STL
1.0 BLK
57.2% TS
With Shannon Sharpe gone from Undisputed, this is now officially the best sports show out there rn
NICK: you guys were right.
BROU & WILDES: (puts shade back on at 3:40)
ME: 💀
I swear I love undisputed but this show better never end with y’all !
