Having observed the popularity of Super Stroke grips in recent years, Golf Prides particular offering suited my liking. Dicks had all six models (M and L of the three versions mentioned) available to try out. Surprisingly, the Pistol grip model felt the best in my hands. So far, in limited practice (using a conventional grip), the reverse taper has felt and worked exactly as I had hoped. The grip feels full and comfortable in my hand with the chunkier reverse taper adding a touch more control to the putter.
I had the same experience. Put it on my double wide odyssey. 2 weeks later I won a new custom cerakote Scotty with a counter balanced super stroke. I haven't used the golf pride since. Eats me up because it had 3 rounds used.
I’m a reverse grip putter, and put the pistol version of this grip on about a month ago - beautiful! Never been so comfortable standing over a putt! Another great review Rick 👍🏻
Enjoyed that video. I remember when HIT first came out you asked for comments of what people would like reviewed and I said putter grips. I’m a conventional grip for long (more than 10 feet) and left below right for short putts. Quite like the look of the pistol grip.
I’ve definitely been interested in these grips. Currently using a Kotahi “palms up” grip. Although I don’t hold it palms up. I also have experimented with it in all sorts of orientations. I love how the teardrop shape of it makes the feel very different, depending on how it’s oriented. I blow my grips on with compressed air. So it’s super easy to change up whenever I want. Highly recommend that grip.
What super looking grips! Currently, I have a super stroke midsize on my putter that I switch to only about a week ago from a standard grip and it is a totally different feeling and has improved my putting. Great video!
I just bought the Evnroll ER2 putter and I absolutely love it. I want to upgrade the worn grip that is on it though. I’ll have to check out these new golf pride grips.
I bought the pistol grip for an old putter I bought. I love my super stroke grip still but I really enjoy having a fat pistol grip for sure. Definitely helped my putting recently. I’ve also learned to keep my old putters because for some reason I will struggle with putting then go back to an old putter and start sinking putts again and I will end up cycling through my putters.
These are great grips. I’m using the Large pistol and my putting touch has improved significantly. I’m able to lock my wrist, so I no longer flip the putter at the bottom of swing. I have more control of the face, so ball stays more consistently on my line. Great grip. I’m using conventional putter grip with it.
I have a evnroll er5b and I just changed the grip to the large pistol and I putt conventional and for me it actually felt the best and I just had my first round with the new grip and had the best putter round I've ever had. Absolutely love the new pistol grip.
After trying 5-6 different putter grips over the last two years and not finding ‘the one’, I’m currently using the large pistol reverse taper grip and love it. I’ve had it for about a month and played 7 rounds. Conventional grip. I tried them all and was surprised the larger pistol felt most natural fit in my hands. I never liked the larger diameter superstroke grips. I feel I have really good control of the putter face.
I actually just put the Jumbo pistol grip on my putter and I absolutely love it! I use the reverse grip (left hand below right) and the putter feels so good in my hands.
I got one and ABSOLUTELY changed my putting I was already very good at reading greens and barely missing. Now those edge burners and 1” misses are going in. Making about 30% more putts
I got these several weeks ago when first available. My miss is a pull, because the right hand is a little too dominant. The bigger right hand quiets it down and I seldom pull putts now.
I use a bunch of grips. Tend to claw short putts and fast downhillers. Conventional for lag putting. I can dial up a good left hand low when needed too.
Been using the round reverse taper grip with a conventional hand position for about three months now, love it. Can say my putting has definitely improved, not just by the holed putts, but the lags, and consistency too. Maybe 3 to 4 putts less per round on average, and that's probably by reducing the three putts. Hope I'm not tempting fate !
I’ve been gaming the rounded version for a few months, my average number of putts per round on arcoss has improved by 3, that’s mind blowing. It’s definitely improved my lag putts from distance, pace consistency, and inside 10ft I hit my line repeatedly. For me this isn’t a gimmick, it’s the result of research. We play about with driver, irons and indeed putters, but gaining a 3 shot dividend from a grip is an investment in my eyes
I’m an avid user of a Golf Pride on my clubs. I use the MCCs. I want to try this grip but I really love my SuperStroke there’s a reason why they dominate the putter grip market.
I just got this on my putter a few days ago and its really really nice. I've been putting reverse grip/cross handed since around 2006 and I bought this grip for that exact reason. I had an oversized grip previously and really didn't like it, this one just feels much more natural. Its like I have a more solid connection from my trail hand to the putter shaft itself with the reverse taper so I get much better feedback on solid hits or mishits.
Currently using lamkin Deep etched. Either the cord or the standard on my putters. Fits my hands perfectly. It already his a slight reverse taper on the front Would try this one in the round as I have more conventional grip, but the colorway is not attractive. I love customizing my grips, covers, and paint fill so these will remain a no for me until they introduce new colors
I use the super stroke wrist lock grip. I really like it. If you’re a forward hinge putter, it’s perfect. Would love to see a review on that from you and your opinion
I have a Bettinardi SS28 slot back putter with a lamkin grip. It's firm and not tapered. The front is flat and it suits my hand for conventional or a claw grip well. It seems medium in size. I'm a firm believer that the grip does make a difference!
Rick, I got this grp when they first came out months ago and they are fantastic!!! They for sure improved my already awesome putting. I guess this video is better late, then never, LOL.
As a reverse grip guy I'm going to look into that pistol grip cause I feel like it would fit that style of grip better than any Super stroke that I've tried
i thought this was new but I found an old putter at a thrift store with a worn hard rubber reversible grip from golf pride. Not sure if it was some sort of prototype that never took off or what. 🤷🏻♂️ I liked the way it felt in the hands so i bought it
I just replaced my putter grip with the discontinued Golf Pride Tour SNSR Contour Pro. Bought two off Amazon to put the second one on my VR golf controller so they are the same. Strange they stopped making the Tour SNSR Contour Pro. I prefer them to these new reverse taper.
I like a more conventional mid-thickness superstroke grip that works for more than one grip type. I use conventional grip from outside 10 feet to get that full strong face contact, and two finger claw from closer in to focus more on the anti-slice stroke. (I’m about a scratch golfer…ish)
I have been using a right hand above left with the grip locked against my left forearm. It’s not súper comfortable but it helps me take that flipped wrist motion out of it.
These moves from the grip companies are crazy. Golf Pride going at SuperStroke with Reverse Taper. Also SuperStroke going at Golf Pride by buying Lamkin, the #2 grip.
I bought the pistol grip version in February the day the pro shop got them, and I feel the putter is more sturdy in my hands. It may sound daft but it's improved my putting loads. Feels much better in my hands and I feel a lot more confident
Tried this grip in large pistol and had it on for 2 months.. I thought it was ok, but I struggled as the grips were not thick enough so therefore but no better than any other grip of similar size.. I’ve gone back to my Winn Jumbo, 1.60..
There's many "odd" or specialty putter grips out there already, like Garsen, Flatso, even those sharp looking leather grips foment a Grip Master. All expensive too, so be sure. Whatever works, I actually like the mid sized Ping pistol grip in cord, Lamkin deep etched cord, personal preference of course.
I putt cack handed. Actually have an old "2 thumb" grip that was designed I believe for the prayer type grip. But I fitted it at 90degree angle so can feel more of club in palms. It's actually falling apart, but haven't wanted to change it. Need to find something similar. Don't know if the 2 thumbs are still around.
I’m an equipment junkie. I don’t know everything and am by no means an expert but I love all things golf equipment: clubs, grips, shafts, technology, etc. The whole thing… I love it. BUT, there’s truly nothing that unbelievably special about equipment today. Most of this stuff is looks or gimmicks and I’m overwhelmingly tired of affiliates and paid sponsorship hawking equipment that really doesn’t move the needle. Find what works for you. As an example, my putter is an old Karsten. I have newer putters, but I play better with a club I bought for $20. Now clubs are $500+ and the cost/benefit doesn’t make sense, unless you’re buying for looks. FWIW find what works for you, but don’t be scared of older equipment or missing out on the “technology advancements”.
Your first few shots with the first one I noticed the hinge movement forward just after your backswing. I have standard Odyssey AI grip which is great but I’d like to try either the round or square version of this.
The reverse grip (i.e. right hand on top) always felt more natural, for me, having been a professional target shooter for years. I'd love to try the pistol
I use the reverse (left below right) grip (which I learned at 😅mini-golf) and have a round grip on my Odyssey - I m ok with it, means it's my fault, not of the grip or of the putter 😁
I’ve used pistol shape since they came out , I’ve had very good results with it👍 only negative is it’s worn out quite quickly at the top of the grip where it goes in and out of the bag 👎

What shoes are younwearing in this video? They look very comfortable.
I’m a reverse grip putter, and put the pistol version of this grip on about a month ago - beautiful! Never been so comfortable standing over a putt! Another great review Rick 👍🏻
I personally love the pistol for conventional grip. Really locks into the left hand
Enjoyed that video. I remember when HIT first came out you asked for comments of what people would like reviewed and I said putter grips. I’m a conventional grip for long (more than 10 feet) and left below right for short putts. Quite like the look of the pistol grip.
I just installed the round I medium and absolutely love it! Takes the right hand out of it . Better accuracy and distance control.

I have the pistol model and love it. I feel so much more stable putting with it. Sinking way more than I was before.
What super looking grips! Currently, I have a super stroke midsize on my putter that I switch to only about a week ago from a standard grip and it is a totally different feeling and has improved my putting. Great video!
Had one of these for about 2 months........... amazing !!
I just bought the Evnroll ER2 putter and I absolutely love it.

I have that putter with the pistol grip on this vid, I love it!!! I use a claw with it

Just went out and put em on! Like it a lot with the left over right! Looking forward to seeing Rick switch grips!!
I actually just put the Jumbo pistol grip on my putter and I absolutely love it! I use the reverse grip (left hand below right) and the putter feels so good in my hands.
I tested all 3 grips and loved the flat. Performing very well for me, definitely does what they say in advertising.
I got one and ABSOLUTELY changed my putting I was already very good at reading greens and barely missing. Now those edge burners and 1” misses are going in. Making about 30% more putts

It’s been great 👍

Big fan of the feel of a pistol grip. I like the spline around the back that keeps my hand centered

Which one did you get for the reverse grip please?
@@jday4217 I got the standard round one. Just feels more right to me.

I use a claw grip and gone from using a super stroke to using the golf pride pistol grip and love it 👍.
I’ve been using the pistol grip golf pride for a few months it’s a nice feel 8/10 for me
Just got a new putter and it has this grip and I’ve got to say has truly changed my putting. Feels amazing in the hands. Flat grip
I use a pistol grip on my strokelabs double wide.. love it.
I’ve been thinking about these! Nice to see a good review on them
Rick, I got this grp when they first came out months ago and they are fantastic!!! They for sure improved my already awesome putting. I guess this video is better late, then never, LOL.
Left hand low has been my style for a long time, and the grip I use now is the best I’ve found for it. Superstroke zenergy tour pistol 2.0
I have the flat one on my scotty Cameron! LOOOOVE IT!
I’m a jumbo pistol grip fan, love the options from SweetRollz
I use Golf Pride Pro Only green star I believe? (it's a pistol grip) Love it. conventional putter grip here btw.
Please review the sub 70 irons! They’re great clubs with amazing customer service
This is a great video because I am a reverse grip putter (left hand down). I do need to change the grip on my putter as well. Thank you Rick
You’ll love it.
Bought the pistol. Love it. Thank your Rick shiels
I have recently changed to the reverse taper large round and with my left below right grip I’ve found it to be very comfortable. 🇦🇺👍
Just started trying claw grip, but changed to Super Stroke Pistol just before, so this video very interesting as agree grip is so important
Loving the untucked shirt vibes Rick 👌
Yes but he’s shirt ain’t. Looks like curtains.
I use a conventional grip but I putt left handed . All other shots I play right handed. The grip on my putter is a Super Stroke. Great video Rick .
That’s wild
I play the large pistol with conventional grip… it’s been an improvement over my super stroke. Really like it
Very interesting 🤔 Love the new swing room pal. Come a long way from the Lockdown garage conversion 😎👍❤️⛳🇪🇸
Been enjoying my Round grip on my Newport!
Playing with the Round large grip , definitely takes the hands out my putting stroke 🙌🏻 ⛳️
✳️ I put a Tennis Tourna grip over my putter grip ✅ great soft feel plus added thickness ✳️
I like these a lot. You can put your hands to the perfect fit for your size hands.
Those look nice. I'm using SuperStroke pistol grip I like slim grips!
As a reverse grip guy I'm going to look into that pistol grip cause I feel like it would fit that style of grip better than any Super stroke that I've tried

Good video, I think it’s great that there’s a lot more variety available as we don’t all have the same size/shape hands do we?

I bought a Scotty and it had this reverse taper grip on it. Literally made holding the putter way more comfortable. 🤷🏻♂️ it’s a game changer indeed.
I game the flat on my Scotty Cameron phantom 5.5 love it
I have been using a right hand above left with the grip locked against my left forearm. It’s not súper comfortable but it helps me take that flipped wrist motion out of it.
I've been using the large pistol version all season, can't really see myself swapping it out anytime soon, it's a great grip
Superstroke 2.0 tour for me been using for 8 years feels great
I got on my putter......love it
Nice review, what size grips were you testing? Medium or large? Thanks
These moves from the grip companies are crazy. Golf Pride going at SuperStroke with Reverse Taper. Also SuperStroke going at Golf Pride by buying Lamkin, the #2 grip.

Mike here. After trying all three i chose the pistol grip and an happy with the feel

People love those grips! I sell and put on so many already.
Intresting, I am using Super Stroke 2.0 and are very satisfied. This could be next step if the putting dont work😊
Your first few shots with the first one I noticed the hinge movement forward just after your backswing. I have standard Odyssey AI grip which is great but I’d like to try either the round or square version of this.
So glad I got the pistol grip!
I gave these a go, made me a worse putter than I already was, which I didn't think was possible 😂
Try BJM Kotahi, game changing for me
I use the Smithworks reverse taper grip on a Smithworks putter.
The reverse grip (i.e. right hand on top) always felt more natural, for me, having been a professional target shooter for years. I'd love to try the pistol
Golf Pride Tour Classic all the way for me.
Currently using a super stroke 2.0 pistol. Some days it feels great. Other days it feels terrible. The reality is that I need practice.
I use conventional for the long lag putts, left hand low for most of my putts and close 2 ft or less the claw
I use conventional with the index fingers down and I really like a rounded putter grip
I might have to try the pistol grip
You should do a travel bag review. I’m sure you use one all the time. I’d be interested to see what you like or have used.
Superstroke makes really good club grips too, for the record
Rick - looks like you need to change your grips to that last one!!!
Thanks for this, I might have to go grip shopping….
LIV golf at JCB this weekend, Rick should be hyping it up. Come on Rick
Unfortunately no one cares about LIV
@@BrettfordBolts Sold out in UK this weekend, 👌guy

I use the reverse (left below right) grip (which I learned at 😅mini-golf) and have a round grip on my Odyssey - I m ok with it, means it's my fault, not of the grip or of the putter 😁
I have used the flat one all season, my tendency to close the face has almost completely disappeared with my reverse grip, I highly recommend it 👍
I’ve used pistol shape since they came out , I’ve had very good results with it👍 only negative is it’s worn out quite quickly at the top of the grip where it goes in and out of the bag 👎
i used to 3 putt everything using traditional grip. now i use ‘left hand low’ and i still 3 putt everything … but, more comfortably 😅
I personally play the claw grip, but at times I revert back to the conventional grip if I'm not putting well.
I use a long putter!
