Your wife is very accommodating. You are blessed. She puts her trust in you! Fun video. This is what I hoped for, for you during all those refurbishing videos. Way to go!
A few days ago we watched you making ginger bread (?) in the cabin and my wife asked if there had been a video of you guys flying down, and here it is! Loved those shots flying over Toronto!
That was just an awesome first installment. I'm living vicariously through your adventures, Glen, while I haul, split and stack firewood for the winter. LOL! Stay well!
@@marleyanalytics The comment was more along the lines of - Is there a hotel within a reasonable distance to the airport that we'll be able to get to? Will there space? You'd be surprised the number of times we make an unplanned stop and can't get a room, because the hotels are fully booked; or the hotels are far from a remotely located airport.
FlightAware says that you were airborne for 2:49 including both legs. Google Maps says drive time from Oshawa to Youngstown is about 5:30. 3 hours in the sky has got to be more fun than 5.5 hours on the Interstate. 😊 Looks like you took the cousins for a joyride on the Thursday. And I see you were up in the air again this morning. Hope you're having a great time in The Soo!
Darn I have to wait until next week to see our intrepid travelers fly the rest of the way to Arkansas, this episode ended to soon , I was really getting into this trip, stay safe and smooth flying
Well this was fun!!! I had no idea you were coming down this way. I would have driven over and met ya to say hi when you came through Ohio since I didn’t get a chance to make it to Osh 😃
Awesome video! I couldn't help but wonder, did you try speeding up the on ground portions a little bit? You sounded a little more high-pitched than usual, but only when not flying.
It’s been a crappy summer in SW Ontario ( We had one of our mature trees fall into our living room in last weeks epic storm here in Amherstburg Ontario ) so travelling has been difficult since it’s rained or stormed everyday this summer.Looking forward to the other parts of this trip vlog.I figured when I saw you were flying to Arkansas there would have to be some diversions but that makes the trip more interesting right? 😂
Yes - the hat is Québécois, but the ground handlers started giving me a hard time because they were all Buffalo Bills fans and thought I was disrespecting their team by wearing a Saints hat and landing in Buffalo. A little light hearted ribbing.
@@GlensHangarAh, nice. We'd guessed Quebecois as a possible alternative. Bills fans (also known as the "Bills Mafia") are fond of giving crap to other team fans, all in the name of fun.
G,day from Sydney Australia. That was wise to divert: you don't have oxygen? What were the cloud tops AGL? Anyway the engine is "singing like a bird" and that's the main thing. When is Joules going to start as the radio operator? 🌏🇭🇲
Until MVU is IFR I won't bother finishing my IFR training. Hoping to get everything together this winter to add an @AvidyneAvionics IFD to the panel. Even so - ATC was vectoring commercial traffic around this weather and holding some commercial outside the weather because it was so bad and several airports were closed. Even IFR I wouldn't be flying a Cessna 172 where a larger commercial plane wouldn't go.
@@GlensHangar I agree, I learned on my first IFR trip after my check ride, Commercial airliners don't fly through the yellows and reds either. I enjoy having ADSB weather on my Dynon HDX. Couple that with the Foreflight and you have a good idea on what is ahead. It's not as good as a radar on the plane but pretty close.
Julie isn't a pilot but she's learned to use Foreflight and is a great navigator (mapping, navigation and aerial surveying was part of our University degrees). She's also learning to fly / land for emergencies, but has no interest in getting a PPL. I've been using Nuvite for polishing, and I tried a couple of other products this summer that didn't work so well - so I'll be polishing again this fall with Nuvite and sticking with their product range.
@@GlensHangar Nuvite should be a sponsor for your channel. They could use the video of the ATC asking you to stop in front of the tower so he could take a picture of MVU.
@@OldGriz708 That would be amazing - but when I went to talk to them at Oshkosh, they wouldn't give me the time of day. Wrote me off as "just another RUclips wannabe". They still have a solid product, no matter what they may think of me.
I knew when I watched your recreation of other food products channel that I knew you from something else. I didn't put it together until I seen your wife/girlfriend in the video with you.

It’s like a family road trip, but in the sky! Fabulous views of Toronto.
Wish I could take a tour of the shoreline going from Toronto down towards Hamilton and then to Niagara Falls. Thanks for the shot on the CN tower.
If you have time to spare, go by air! Great to see Julie along with you.

Enjoyed meeting you at Oshkosh this year! I was born in Youngstown, OH! Great place and great people!
Just played at a small metal festival in Youngstown recently, seemed like a neat place

I just found you on YT tonight. Very enjoyable content. Your co-pilot has a great attitude. Looking forward to following along.
Very neat lives you two live! Very fun to follow along!
Btw, being from Ohio I had to laugh at some of the commentary. Yes, Youngstown has hotels 😂
Being a Buckeye myself, I don't think I would want to stay in Youngstown though.
@@velojayf Yeah, I mean it's generally not considered to be a tourist destination lol
Was going to say the and thing. It’s not huge, but it’s not tiny either.

oooh what an adventure! loved it!

Stunning views
Sorry you had to divert to Youngstown. That's right around the corner from me. Flown out of CAK a few times too. Niles is the city next to mine.
That was super interesting!
It looks like a lot of fun.
Hey I live in Youngstown. Hope you enjoyed your stay haha
Try clearing customs at KIAG it’s a lot more accommodating for small airplanes.
Good flight.
I've been to Youngstown once, it was ok but I've heard it is not a good place to stay.
Happily waiting for the next leg of the trip.

great landing at the end there
You should fly a little further south and visit the Arkansas Ouachitas
You are getting dangerously close to me in OKC. Surprised you are coming to the land of uncontrolled heat.
Love to see a video of how you pick out the runway you hope to land on. You called out runway 23 miles before you could see the airport
