First up we have Mat in the Land Rover Discovery, with its 2.0-litre engine that can produce 240hp and 430Nm of torque!
Then there’s the Toyota Land Cruiser, armed with a 2.8-litre under the bonnet that'll put down 177hp and 450Nm! The Jeep Wrangler's next in the line-up, but does it stand a chance with its 2.2-litre engine and 200hp?

@@james64ibm it's because the brand new vw Amarok with the re-maped V6 engine has 258hp but it has a "overboost" function that activates 272hp between 40 to 70 mph or something like that. That is really surprising and destroys every single pickup

In Australia they come with a 4.5L Twin turbo diesel v8 making 270hp and 650nm. I didnt know they even made a 4cylinder landcruiser (not counting the prado)
bassicuk1986 I have worked on commercial engines since before diesels were popular, when they were popular and even now when they aren’t, the VWs 3.0 diesel, the 2.5 5 cylinder and the 1.9 are 3 of the best engines ever made, that engine will outlast the 2.8 it’s made of chocolate compared to the proper landcruiser engines
Amarok be like: "there's no replacement for displacement."
And it’s even more inpressive that it brakes that well too.
The tuned version can hit 100km in 5.8 seconds
and for the bigger brakes.

@@TheNewGeneration-wh4kr the Rubicon is definitely more capable off road but it doesn't have the reputation for toughness like the Cruiser. In saying that though, they can also go the long haul if properly maintained. Great vehicles.

That 2.8 is known for shitting itself thanks to DPF and injector failures. The previous 3.0 was decent. The same issues affect the 1VD 4.5 V8 in both the 70- and 200-series, along with a defective air box that lets dust into the engine, rendering the air filter useless.
They don't make them like they used to.
We all know what the Lancruiser is for: to go slow on any terrain including the Moon.
If he used the land cruiser VX with the v8, it would've been a different story.
and the engine is unkillable especially because 2.8liters at 177hp

@@johnjerrehian4642 You laugh but as the suspension wears on all the other vehicles in the race they will eventually end up braking the exact same way. The Landcrusier is a proper old school off roader made to be durable and dependable its not made to race, be powerful and handle like a dream.

In the UK, this is a Land Cruiser, because even that is pointlessly big and not efficient enough. The massive V8 one would be a complete waste of time here.
Doesn't matter, anyways as it is from Toyota, it comes last always. Land Cruiser got V6 and V8 in the middle east (along with its counterpart Lexus LX570 competing in vain with G class, Range Rover Sport, Ford Expedition and Cadillac Escalade), whereas the uglier LC Prado (as featured here) comes in I4 and V6 and as seen it gets beaten in every way.
@@AngelsLoveErbil If you're using this video as evidence of which is the best or worst car in the class (the class being cars specifically designed to suck at doing exactly what's in this video) then I feel you may have been misinformed about the purpose of these vehicles. A Land Cruiser is for off-roading and is far better at that than an Amarok, for example. I'd suggest that 90% of the people watching this channel aren't really bothered anyway, we just find it funny watching slow cars drag race.

Just search and use your mind broadly you'd find out better vehicles.
