My sister is currently undergoing various diagnosis @NITRD,delhi in allergy clinic, she is currently on foracort 200 and nothing else for past 2 years, the inhaler has got her under control and she lives a normal lifestyle, but i am worried about long term side effects of this inhaler, also i don't think she has asthma but more of an allergy. Balgam aane ki koi samasaya nahi hai is bimari me kyuki Saans ki nalkiyo ka size increase (Bronchiectasis) hone ke vajah se Balgam kabhi jyada kabhi kam hota hi rahega.
Iski chinta karne se kuch nahi hoga.
Infact accha rahta hai ki jitna jyada balgam nikaal sakein utna nikal dein.

Sir, I am having continuous asthma for last few days. Taking steroids daily. My doctor has taken chest xray and told me that lungs looks expanded due to asthma. My ige also tested and is 938. He asked me to do HRCT and Aspergillus specific ige and igG after 10 days. If it is APBA, will it be curable. Will the medicines affect liver as my liver enzymes seems to be elevated sometimes. Also I am a feeding mother for 1 and half year old baby. Will the medicines be affecting my baby. Kindly reply.
There are specific precautions to be taken for feeding mothers which your doctor will advice you.
Asthma for few days you wrote .... then how does that made your doctor evaluate for AbPA?
Only 1-3% of cases of asthma turn out to be abpa.
IGE can be elevated in normal asthma also.
Aspergillus specific tests like specific IgE and IgG are never to be done for diagnosis when patient is taking "Oral steroids"
Only when the patient is not taking steroids for minimum 3 weeks then these shud be done, else they might come false positive on steroids.

Hello Dr, m watching from Saudi Arabia.. my mother is having uncontrolled Asthma.nw she is having sputum culture for aspergillus.. she already had all symptoms like fever dyspnea.. with cough in blood.. wats the treatment can be done,,... I have been taking itraconazole since last 2 months , left prednisone one month back… but now since one week I have been facing short breath ?

Steroids in Abpa are usually given for 4-6 months.
Antifungals are given for 4 months.
2ndly aapne jo pucha ki fungus increase ho rahi hai ya nahi iske liye Abpa patients me followup testing is only with Serum Ige.

Abpa complete recovery is certainly a possibility but case to case variations are there. Also side effects from prolonged use of medicines will be there but they are manageable
