Absolutely the most smiles per dollar you can get on a bike. Miss mine dearly. Had a 99 200, rode through bouldered stream beds like a trials bike, single track on rails, wide open it had more speed than I could safely handle. Light, nimble, comfortable, usable power and enough to do any leisure riding! Damn fine low budget bike!

I ran in high elevation, FMF Gnarly woods pipe was the ticket, with the Turbine Core II silencer. Sure the other offering might give it a bit more HP, but I wanted torque down low, throttle response and the snap when needed. The bike also loses about 15 pounds which is also a bonus.

A modern KDX300 would be fantastic. The current 300 2 strokes from Europe are very popular and seems the Kawi would sell like crazy.

      Wrong.
      Stop being a lunatic.
      Grow a brain 🧠
      Endurance motocross racing bike.
      K = Kawasaki

I had an early 90's KDX 200 a few years back and absolutely loved it. I started looking for another one about 5-6 months ago and boy, was I regretting selling the one I had. Clapped out bikes were in the $2,000 range and better, ride-ready bikes with close to $3,000. I found a decent KDX220 at an auction and bit on it. I need to do a few things to it, but feel that considering the market for trail bikes in my area, I did alright. My other bike is a TT-R 250 that just isn't that fun to ride, even though it is a great bike. Good video!

My brother in law passed so I ended up with his 92 200 which is in rough shape. He hadn’t touched it since he was in high school and you could tell. Had taped up grips, bent bars, painted front number (light is gone), air box had a full mice nest and more. Didn’t want to put it in my house attached garage as I didn’t know what was living in it. Finally pulled it outta the shed and cleaned it out, checked over the engine/trans and everything seemed pretty good, had good compression. Cleaned the carb, checked the reeds, pipe and silencer then got her up and running and took her around the block, was rough at first but ran half decent by the end. Gonna take a few hundred more to get her nice (seat cover, frame and pipe paint, graphics, etc)but I’m well on my way. Cool little bike

I have a retro-full on KDX build. It was stock for many years, and then I had Jeff Fredette do the cylinder (ported and polished), head (milled and shaved) carb (bored it to 36mm) because it is a 220, revalved my shock, did goldseals and protech springs on my forks, I did a K&N filter and drilled holes in air box, added an FMF rev pipe, all aftermarket plastics, and when I was done many riders in the dual sport I do thought it was a NEW KDX. Not NOS new- but like a 2018 KDX cause that is when I finished it for the dual sport. That day someone from NJ offered me 4200. for it. How does it go??? AMAZING. Like a 250 or 300 woods bike. As a matter of fact, I pass many 10K Euro bikes all day long. 125 ,miles in the woods for each dual sport I do. Never lets me down.

I started riding at age 7, but it wasn't till I got my KDX220 at 15 (2000) that I started really learning how to ride the tight technical enduro style riding I enjoy today. The KDX lineup is phenomenal for all the reasons that you stated in the video. While it might be "slower" than modern bikes, and lack items like e-start, I can say that not many modern bikes can match the KDX's overall durability. I ride a KLX450 nowadays but still have my 220 and looking to do a full restoration soon. As much as I like my 450, and have no plans on trading it anytime soon, I miss riding the ole 220!!

Been looking to get my hands on a KDX of any stripe...but they just are not out there. All I can figure is "if you've got one, you keep it." My dad had a first-gen KDX 175...and once I was old enough/tall enough I graduated from my Suzuki RM80 to dad's KDX. Man I loved that bike...but I wrecked it trying to show off when I was 12...doing a wheelie and ultimately bending the frame and blowing out a bunch of green plastic. Dad was sooooo pissed. But eventually in my mid-teens I got the bike. It was perfect...it could be docile when you wanted to lug it through the nasties....but had plenty of rip when you needed speed. Really wish Kawasaki would bring back the KDX line.

1995-2006 aka the H series KDX. Nothing changed on the 200/220 for those years. The bike were and still are bulletproof! Emissions are not to blame on why they got rid of the bike. That’s what you will read and/or hear people say. They got rid of the kdx because dealerships were not making any money on the bikes after selling them in regards to maintenance and repairs. Hence bulletproof machines. Besides the 220’s having issues with the stock pistons randomly exploding or shall I say blowing top ends, that was the only issue and it was only due to a poorly built piston. I have got 11 years on a top end on my 1995 KDX 200 with very little loss in compression. That’s riding the bike on some intense single track and large hill climbs. My 2001 and 2005 kdx pistons were replaced in 2017. Rode them for years! Compression wasn’t that low as well and who knows how long they were in there. How can dealers make money on a quality built bike like that? Some new 2 Strokes require top ends from 25-80hrs. That’s insane but that’s how they make money on service nowadays. It all boils down to Kawa having to stop making them because they built a perfect bike that made dealers no money. Imagine kawa manufacturing and building that same engine into an updated bike…it would be epic!! They could fuel inject the bike (which I would probably remove and go back to carb) 🤦‍♂️😂
The engine is an absolute weapon and still to this day arguably consider the best woods weapon every made! 👊🤙

Hey. I enjoy your channel but I have a concern… Your videos always pixelate while you’re riding! It’s too much to look at. Can you up the frame rate or something? I don’t see how it’s 4K and it’s pixelating while you’re riding? That doesn’t make sense to me. Otherwise great job. What kind of camera is that?

Garage has a CR-500, CR-250, CR-85, KDX-200, KTM-300. My first pic on a trail ride? KDX all day long. Best all around hands down. Springed for a 230 lb rider. I call her tank, she can take a beating where you don't want the "scratch the 300" haha. She pull hills with that heavy flywheel like the 300. Unreal. It would be the LAST bike to leave the stable for sure. There are some killer upgrades for it. Carb and jetting is a must, bar risers a must, race tech will liven up those forks, forget the KX swap, do the race tech mods. With the gearing I prefer the desert pipe, also have the gnarly. Prefer the desert. Once its set up for the rider, very, very hard to match.

      Yuck.
The name clearly says endurance motocross racing bike.
The KX bike allows you to change lines when going around the motocross track.
The KDX endurance racing bike doesn't allow you to change lines easily.
You must choose the line before you enter the corner.
You have no clue what you're doing.
