You can find several erros on these coins from: 1) Missing Edge Lettering 2) Doubled Edge Lettering 3) Partial (weak) Edge Lettering 4) Incuse (upside down and inverted) Edge Lettering The easiest one to find is the missing edge lettering dollar coins so we will focus on those in this video since you need no trained eye or a scope to find them! They are worth anywhere from $25-$200 in regular circulated condition! Happy hunting!
I have a few that go both ways.. I wont say it.. hahaha BUT... I have a 20-30 that u have to take a loop to see the date and some u can't make it out even with a loop are they considered a variety or error??
They started using edge lettering in 2009 when the Sacagawea Dollar became the Native American Dollar and the reverse design started changing every year.
Coin minting errors are purely down to the academic ability of the person doing the job... Their ability to follow through with the job and in the case of double stamping the edges, a simple case of someone put it on the wrong way so they did them again to make the job right.
I found a Sacagawea with edge lettering in my collection any ideas on how much i just made in $$$ its in near perfect condition despite being regular pocket cash
Sir did they do the state quarter's in that gold color kind of metal? I have a Gold colored one for the state of Washington. Do you think it is worth anything?
Some companies did plate the state quarters in gold and platinum and sold them for $5-$10 per set. Wihtout having the entire set for any of the years, they are just novelty items.
@@RobFindsTreasure thank you for answering me Sir. What is your advice as to where to go to find out if any of a person's coins are worth anything? Last time I went to a coin shop the man told me my 1906 liberty head nickel was only worth $6.00. I still have it and even more now. But I have heard that coin shops and pawn shops are the last places you want to take your coins because they lie about the price. Mostly to pay as little for it as possible when they talk you out of your coins.
There are Sacagawea dollars with the date and all that on the edge of the coin. I just searched two rolls and had several. I did find a well circulated “wounded eagle” and sold in on eBay for $55.89 in less than 4 hours. I could’ve asked for more, but it’s Christmas time
Curious Rob. I have a couple where the lettering is upside down (not double stamped or anything). Is that considered an error on these? I'm not super up on the "gold" dollars, aside from looking for those '00 detailed tail feathers and speared eagle varieties. I did recently pick up a few rolls of dollars when cleaning a bank out of their halves, so will be keeping an eye out when popping these rolls open. >>;=)
Coins are cool but Old Silver Bar market is where its at. Vintage bars have dried up and prices are exploding. Congratulations to everyone that wasnt scared to pay the premiums the last 20 years. You are being rewarded tremendously
I'm not much of an Errors & Varieties hound and could be mistaken, but aren't there also even _more_ valuable errors where the different reverse from the Presidential Series is found on Sacajawea dollars or vice versa? Seems like this short might have been a fine opportunity to mention that, what with both types lined up right there and all. But Thumb's Up anyhow.
There are a ton of errors and varieties to mention. For the shorts, I try to pack in as much useful info as possible on one particular type of error in a minute. Defintely will consider mentioning the others over time. Thank you brother!
The one you should really tell them about is the Cheerios Sacagawea coin. the pin feathers on the eagle on the reverse will have very fine detail and if it is like that you probably have a cheerios Sacagawea coin
Can You show picture of the one about the Pin or feathers, I don't quite understand, heard something but nobody is really clear, please show what exactly is wrong,,, Or right.
I went out. The day Sacajawea dollars were released and bought four rolls. I opened one roll. All of the coins have lettering around the outside edge. Some of the lettering is face up, some of it is face down, but all of my Sacajawea, dollars in the role that I opened House lettering. I have three more unopened rolls that I bought on day number one when they were released. How much would each of my opened role Sacajawea dollars with lettering around the edge be worth. They were uncirculated. What about the rolls that I have that have not been opened. What would they be worth unopened?
My area transit agencie has bill breakers that gives out dollar coins at the bus stations I check them before putting them into the fare box sometimes I think about all the silver that could be inside a city bus fare box. I do save some to hunt I also have a dollar coin album too.
What about the Sagacawea golden Dollars that do have the edge lettering on them? What are they worth on the secondary market? Live life well and enjoy yourself!
Hello I have 2gold dollar coins one is presidential it has no edge lettering and the other one is the native American it has no year on front can. U tell me if any of them are worth anything ????????thank you very much

What about a brown Sacagawea dollar? It’s suppose to be gold but it’s a reddish brown color
They started using edge lettering in 2009 when the Sacagawea Dollar became the Native American Dollar and the reverse design started changing every year.
Yup

Take it to a local coin shop to see what they say OR use PCGS's photo grade to try and grade it yourself based on comparing it to other coins similar.
